    Didn't do it

Hello, I decided not to do my surgery tomorrow. I guess I'm not 100% ready. I started feeling like a failed myself & didn't give weight loss my all. I am going to diet & hire a personal trainer. I have more than 100 lbs to lose, I am going to give myself 1 year, hopefully I will reach my goal. Thanks for all your support, this forum is the best.

    November Bandsters!

Hi, I want to join this thread of November bandsters, my surgery date is coming up soon. I have mixed emotions, and postponed my surgery once. I think this time I am going all the way. Tired of having no energy,& wanting to sleep all day. I want to enjoy life.
  7. Hello, You feel pretty much as I do right now. I have also gone through all the necessary steps for my surgery. I acutallly had a date, it was October 6th then 2 days before my surgery, I called and postponed it. I also think can I do this on my own, I tried Atkins diet & lost 38 lbs then gained it back, I also tried WW but it didn't work. A coworker of mine lost around 100 lbs on weight watchers & everytime I see her I think I can do it to, but in reality I cant I think I need some help I never thought I would turn to weight loss surgery, but I know Lap Band is the less invasive surgery, and if it doesn't go well you know It can be removed, that's why I think I am going to go ahead with Lap Band. I am not mentally ready for gastric bypass and Lap Band good for me. I have another date Nov 27th. I hope you choose the right choice for yourself, I am tired of yoyo dieting also you have to at least give yourself credit for all the efforts and attempts you tried on losing weight. Good luck with your decision.
  8. Thanks Wow. I am impressed and hope to have the same suceess has you. I can't wait to get on the road to weight loss.I know it will be all worth it. I currently weigh around 280 lbs so I have alot of work ahead of me. Ill let you know how the surgery goes.
  9. Hello It's me again. I have a surgery date. The first date I had was October 6th,but I cancelled at the last minute. Why? I still don't know. I keep telling myself I can lose this weight on my own,but I have been trying for years and it's not working,I need some help. How are new lapbanders doing?I have been reading some profiles & some pt's have gas pain. I was wondering now that some of you guys are past the post-op,how do you feel now? Was it worth it? How much have you lost? Please let me know I don't want to back out again. Its approved.Everything is done. Just waiting for me to make up my mind if this is the correct road to take or not.
  10. I did my pre-op today. Surgery is on for Friday. I am not nervous about the surgery. I just hope it works for me. I still think should I try 1 more time to try & lose on my own. I hope I mentally adapt to the food changes. I know my date is 4 days away but I am still don't know what to do Help??
  11. Great point Funny Duddies I agree with you 100%

    I am torn

I agree with everyone here. You sound like you are in the same situation has me. My insurance will only cover the RNY & not the lap band. I am going to choose the lap band. I am so scared of having my organs rearranged. I personally know someone who had gastric bypass and everything was so great, she was happy with the weight she was losing, then 18 months down the road she had abdominal pain, dehydration, and vomitting, she ended up dying. But on the other hand a few people at more work have had RNY and they look great. Im still terrified and Im choosing Lap Band.
  13. Just wondering if anyone had a chance to do gastric bypass surgery but choose lap band surgery instead? I have been researching both surgeries and gastric bypass sounds scary,I don't think Im mentally ready for them to cut & rearange my organs. Lap band is for me.I don't have any health conditions other than being overweight which makes me a better canidadate for lap band. I know weight loss is much slower. My insurance only covers RNY.Can anyone give me an idea how much you've lost in a 6 months with lap band surgery?
  14. I have been researching lap band & RNY surgery, and lap band is less invasive with less complications. I am going with lap band & feel peace with my decision. I hope you the best with your decison.
