Hi ya'll - I need your words of wisdom please... I was banded on October 1st and from then until November 17th, I lost a whopping 25 lbs! I got my first fill on that date (Nov 17th) and since then have lost NOTHING! Not even a half pound! I haven't gained either, which is great, but NO weight loss?! Seriously?! It's been 5 wks with no loss. Is this normal?! I'm feeling a little frustrated and have been so careful about what I eat - hardly any carbs (only oatmeal in the morning) and the rest is Protein and veggies. Any ideas? Is this the way it's going to be? I'm kind of panicking... I blog my journey too, if you want to follow along: Following my Dreams, One by One Thanks in advance for your words of wisdom. Good luck to you all!

Alright, it's been over a month and I can say that I've bonded with my band, but he/she STILL doesn't have a name. Please help! Leave your band name suggestions in the comments section - I'll pick one from there. Many thanks for your help, friends!

BOTTOMLESS PIT! Is that normal?!
Adrie replied to Adrie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for the words of encouragement - it's good to know that this is completely "normal"! I was worried lol. -
Lately I've been feeling like a bottomless pit. I blogged about it here: Following my Dreams, One by One: Bottomless Pit I'm wondering if you guys are having the same issues post-surgery (about a month)? Can you please visit my blog, read, and let me know if I'm normal and sane?! lol I basically feel like I haven't even been banded. It's crazy! Hope to hear from you soon, thanks.

Katie, that is awesome! I know what you mean about the "being in control" part. I was banded on October 1st and am just understanding that. I love it too! Congrats on your 4lb loss this week - well done! Stop by my blog too if you ever want to read my ups/downs and look for encouragement (most are pretty positive but you know how it is when you have "just one of those days"! Keep up the great work -Adrienne

So here's the million dollar question
Adrie replied to ElfiePoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Admittedly, I just went through "Bandster Hell" and had I read that post, I would have seen it coming haha. Today is a much better today though, my blog post last night (blog link below) was pretty horrible! Protein is definitely the key to my success too. I'm 2 wks post-surgery and the day when I don't drink my 3rd shake, I get a little frustrated with life in general. I'm definitely going to be sticking to the 3 shakes daily. At least until I can get my protein elsewhere. Tomorrow I start my pureed foods - yay! I don't think I have restriction, as I never feel "full", but I say that and I can't quite say I've been starving or hungry either. Just maybe once? It's interesting, but so far, I love my band. Good luck! -
I have the best shake recipe. EVER. First of all, I love Beneprotein, which you can buy at www.nestlenutritionstore.com - it's a bit more expensive than other Protein powders, but it has NO taste and NO grittiness! And you can use it in hot or cold things. It is fabulous! Second of all, the trick to an awesome shake is to make skim milk ice cubes (just in those little ice cube trays). Then you can make it as thick as you want - mine end up like a frosty at Wendy's - YUMMM. All you do is take 2 packets of chocolate Carnation Instant Breakfast (no sugar added) and 2 scoops of the Beneprotein powder and put that in your Magic Bullet (or whatever blender you use). Then add 6 ice cubes and the rest skim milk. The ice cubes and skim milk should TOTAL 2 cups - I put the ice cubes in a 2c measuring cup and then add milk until it hits the 2c mark. Then blend! It ends up as thick as a frosty, I'm telling you it's incredible! I drink all my shakes like that, even in the morning hehe  AND, I dont crave chocolate because I get this yummy goodness a few times a day. After surgery you can add a tablespoon of Peanut Butter and it makes it into a Reese's shake. Hope you love it as much as I do! Makes the shakes a lot more manageable. Good luck! Best, Adrienne :sneaky:

Hi Leslie- Glad you read it and liked it! I feel much better today, which is fan-freaking-tastic. My mom laughed so hard at my f-bomb (maybe I should put an 18 or older clause on there haha). Feel free to stop byt he blog any time - leave comments too! I'd love to share ideas, recipes, etc. Hope all is well with you! Best, Adrienne

Hi LilMissDiva! Thanks for your kind words. Today is going much better. I RANTED on my blog last night and I got all my anger out - so today is better, thankfully haha. I even dropped the "F-bomb" on there, which is sooo not like me! I just wanted a salad haha. Anyway, how's your journey going? I hope all is well with you. I know this is going to be a bumpy journey, so I'm prepared for what's to come. Thanks again!

Hi everyone! I'm new to this community - I was banded almost 2 wks ago on 10/1/09. I'm 31 and my highest weight was 297 - I'm down to 279 as of 10/9/09. Who knew a liquid diet would be that successful?! I'm struggling right now NOT to eat - I am craving a salad. I don't even care if it has salad dressing! I started a blog (the good, bad and ugly - all of it), so feel free to stop by and offer up ideas, support, etc. It can be found here: Following my Dreams, One by One I can't wait until my first fill - I haven't been hungry until today but holy cow, it's awful! Thanks in advance for all your support. I'm just having one of those rough days. xo, Adrienne

Ok......Please someone tell me it gets easier!

I like Beneprotein. It's a little more expensive than other brands but it isn't gritty and doesn't change the flavor of anything you add it to. I dissolve it right in Crystal Light and it's fabulous! I add it to Carnation Instant Breakfast shakes too and it doesn't change the flavor. I don't like any of the other protein powders, so I'd rather spend money on something I love! Good luck! It gets easier, I promise.
