Haven't blogged in a while...i'm coming up on my 3 month mark of having the surgery. I have lost a total of 30 pounds but 20 of that was during the liquid stage of the diet...only down 5lbs since my last fill...3lbs one week, 1lb 2 weeks ago, 1lb last week...I get my 3rd fill Monday and I can't wait...at first i didn't think i'd look forward to my fills b/c i had to do the liquid diet again but now i'm anxiously awaiting it! I know that once i get another fill i'll lose some more weight...the waiting is the hardest part i belive - sometimes it's just downright discouraging!! anyone feel the same way?

So I'm needing to know if anyone else struggled with losing weight after the band...I lost 20 lbs before (during the 2 weeks of my pre op diet) and I lost 2 pounds the week after surgery. I'm now on week 4 and have lost no more...I'm doing everything by the book - I'm to my regular diet as of today. I walk for atleast 30 minutes about 4x a week and plan to start exercising more vigirously asap. I'm drinking my water and yet it seems to no avail. Don't get me wrong I knew I wouldn't drop another 20lbs that fast but I was hoping to do the 1-2 each week. I haven't gained any and that's the up side I suppose...I'm just ready - ya know? Any advice?

So, I'm a week and a day post surgery and I feel fantastic! I'm down 22lbs over the past 3 weeks and some of my clothes are even a little on the big side! Whoot Whoot!! My 1st goal is to lose 50lbs for a trip I want to go on and I can't believe i'm almost halfway there. I progressed to mushy food Monday but it includes a LOT more than I orginally thought. I'm eating tuna fish, pasta salad, soft cheeses, canned fruit...YUMMY!!! oh, I also can have scrambled eggs - one of my favs! It tastes unbelieveably good - I think the band has given me a new (and healthy) appreciation for food! So far (and prayerfully in the future) no complications - my incisions are healing very nicely and i look forward to every day - i feel this...excitement about each day...anyone know what I'm talking about? It's like, I don't dread eating anymore - there's not that war in my head of should I eat/should I not eat...I eat what I'm supposed to, when I'm supposed to and it's great! Good luck to everyone else out there and thanks for letting me share!

I know! I find if I mix the chocolate with about 4oz of milk it's still super strong but will go down...the more you mix it in the more you have to choke down you know? I also have some vanilla and puree some strawberries and ice with a splash of juice or milk and it's tolerable. The vanilla also mixes in well with my coffee in the mornings...hope this helps!

I have been banded for 5 days now and have had no complications...no nausea - a little gas pain in the shoulders but it's all gone - and I'm off my pain meds! I have a Dr's appt for post op visit on Monday - what should I expect that day? Since everything's going well could I move to the "mushy stage" after my appt? Should I even get my hopes up? I was able to go to full liquids after 48hrs and my doc said i could include thinned grits and applesauce... Any comments from experience would be appreciated - THANKS!

YES!! Well, it was for me! I've been banded for 5 days now and still on liquids (did 14 day pre op liquid as well) and I want to crunch a cracker so much I could scream! ) You do have to keep in mind the bigger picture but it is very hard. I didn't realize how much "getting out of the house" usually was in terms of getting something to eat - it's enough to drive me insane! The preop diet does get easier - your stomach starts to shrink and now after being banded I find that after two bottles of water i feel full! Good luck and Press On!

Hi! I've read all the reviews on the internet, amazon, etc...how ever I'm wondering if there are fellow bandsters who could recommend one over the other? I just want something that my body can handle, will be challenging and most of all will produce tone in my muscles!! Please advise!

Vitamin Shoppe carries Jay Robb's brand - chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and dreamsicle - all taste great but he's kind of expensive - i ended up buying Elite Protein- mixes well, tastes great and just got chocolate and vanilla - there are so many different things you can do with those flavors!!
