Glad to hear things are improving

Were you ever a runner before?

Ever since I started the journey towards the sleeve everything has gone very smoothly. No hitches at all. Giving me the reassurance that I am making the best choice for myself. I chose to only tell three close friends about my surgery. Well that changed last night. One of the girls in my neighbourhood (who I had told about the surgery) accidently let it slip. Then that person ran into another friend of mine and the news spread. All of these people mean well -- they are supportive, But I just didn't want alot of people to know. There is nothing that can be done -- what is done is done. I just think once people know you are having weight loss surgery their eyes become more critical. I am sad the news has spread but I guess I only have myself to blame. If I didn't want others to know my business I guess I shouldn't have told any one. Sorry just needed to vent.......

That is wonderful news Shanda! I am so happy for you! I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers for an uncomplicated surgery and a speedy recovery. Please keep us updated when you can

It is the treat of my day too!

Three of my girlfriends went in and bought me a juicer. They wanted to show their support. I am fortunate to have a great network of friends-- now I feel a little guilty for not including them from the very beginning.

Lan2k You are on my prayer list. My surgery is only a week away- we will go through this together. I understand the cold feet but think of all the positives and how your life will be changed so much for the better!

Shanda Being on the pre op diet right now I completely understand what you mean about going to the bathroom soooooooo much. OMG I think I have to pee about every 40 min!!!!!!!!!! The other day at work someone asked me ....."Are you okay??" lol

Well I have completed five days of the pre-op diet and doing pretty good so far. I have lost 13 lbs so far, What is the average amt of weight that people loose during the pre op diet phase?

Yes I drink it and I agree those floaty things cause no harm

It is not just you- Tiff is getting cutier and cutier!! Way to go Tiff! Shanda I will add you to my prayer list and hope it all settles down before Sept 15. My surgery date is Sept 21 so we will be going through this together. Don't get too discouraged- I believe things will work out

I have surgery planned for Sept 21 and my DH found out today he has to be out of town on the day I come home from the hospital. I will get a girlfriend to bring me home. How much help do you need when you get home? Can you stay by yourself? What do you need help doing? Thanks for you help

I had the Okios (plain) and added Torani Sugar Free Raspberry flavoring syrup- delicious. The sf syrup made it taste FANTASTIC- the sf syrup has zero calories, zero fat 10 mg sodium, 1 g carb and zero protein. I got the syrup next to the coffee section at Walmart. It comes in many other flavors- chocolate, vanilla. It made my yogurt come alive!

I went for my pre anesthesia screening yesterday for sleeve surg Sept 21st. When they got to the consent it had- the sleeve surgery and a liver biopsy included. I don't have a single liver issue. When I asked for an explanation the girl said it may be for a study but they can make sure you don't have hepatis, fat liver disease, cirrosis blah blah blah. I don't have any symptoms to even think I have problems with my liver. So I didn't sign the consent. I have a meeting with my surgeon next week and will talk to him about it. I really don't want them just doing a biopsy on my liver for the fun of it. Anyone else ever had this done during surgery?

Well it is getting closer- my pre op diet starts tomorrow! I am excited to get the process underway but dreading the tired, and crankiness. Any suggestions to make it better?

Hubby just called and said the meeting has been changed to Oct. So he WILL be able to bring me home from the hospital. I feel better with that Thanks for all the advice- y'all are great!
