  1. Happy 34th Birthday beaglebailey!

  2. I too was banded on 6/30/09. I started mushy foods today as well and it's A-oK. Only I am not really hungry. I am worried I'll try to drink my calories which I know is a No-No. I had 1/2 a mushy protein veggie patty this AM with some skim milk. I have lost 29 pounds which seems like a lot quickly, but I was on a liquid diet for 3 weeks and the Dr told me to expect to gain a little back this week. Overall this has been difficult but I am glad that I did it.

What is the best Protien Drink ?

I have not yet had surgery, my date is 6/30/09 but I have been trying all kinds of drinks to get ready. I really like the Isopure ones that are fruity, I dilute them with Water and can sip them during the day. They have 40 grams of Protein, zero carbs. I like the Optimum Nutrition powder which my Dr. reccomended and you can find at Vitamin Shoppe, I have only tried chocolate which is good with non-fat milk. I also like the EAS drinks, I have always loved the strawberry myoplex low carb. I am not sure of the protein but it is low-fat, low-carb. I was told to watch my carb in my pre-op surgery. I tried Lean Body today at GNC and it was beyond gross and fattening I later discovered. It has 40 g of protein and 9 grams of Fat. OMG. Never again.

    June 2009 Surgery

I am June 30, 2009. Scared and nervous. I know I am making the decision. My knees hurt and I can't run like I used to. I am sooooooooo looking forward to this being over and done with. Hopefully I can stick to the liquid diet which I start 1 week in advance.
  5. Hello: I am looking for a mentor. My date is 6/30/09. I am self pay and going to Monterrey Mexico. If anyone else has been to Monterrey any advice would be greatly appreciated. I know that there are concerns about this, but as an attorney here who works on med mal cases, I am sure that this can't be any worse than many of my clients experiences and to each their own.
