It is exactly two years i've been banded. I look back at how I struggled to get to where I am today.long road but i'm happy where i am at today. I still plan to lose about 20 more pounds but i'm in no hurry. I love my band best thing i ever done having to do with weightloss. It doesn't seem like two years have went by. so how r some of my november 2009 bandsters doin?

Good luck! It is so exciting even though I had complications and didn't get to have my skin removed. I would do it agian...I still plan On getting the panni after i heal so sometime next year. I just don't have good luck when it somes to surgerys but so worth it. keep us posted girl!

last monday i had a hernia repair and my tummy muscles tightened. with my history he told me i'd have to have the skin removed later. after waking up i learned i needed a blood transfusion cause i lost to much blood. then drs started going in and out of the room i herd one on the phone saying i think she has kidney damage too. i started to freak and cry not knowing what woukd happen. a nurse grabbed my hand and said will u trust me i wont let anything happen to u i promise. they finally used a mens catheder on me because i was so swollen a female one wouldn't work.\ and did get urine. I had two bags of blood that day. The next day two more bags of blood. Finally on the 5th day everything was going good i got to go home. I have to say i have never been so scared in my life and tomorrow that nurse will know just how she touched my heart with her hand. I am starting to have bowel movements everyday which is awsome before the hernia repair it was every 7 days. My stomach looks great sure wish he could have taken the extra skin off but my health is more important so ill wait till next year for that. My drain is still brite red i thought it would be like a light red. sure hope i get it out tomorrow. how long did u have to wear the pain in but garmet? The bottom of my stomach looks so smooth and flat but the top still looks pudgy. when will this start to look more flat/ thanks for any suggestions

I have to be at hospital at 6:45 for open hernia repair with mesh and hes gonna tighten my stomach muscles. I'm so nervous already. I had all my band unfilled except 2cc four days ago. I tend to swell alot so it was recommedned by br. I will be in the hospital for 5 nights. I tend to get blood clots so they r being extra cousious and to make sure no infection. i was suppost to be having full tummy tuck too. But they decided it was to much at onces with the huge hernia. H e has to remove old mesh to that needs to be repaired and my complication risks during and after surgery. so if i decide to do the tummy tuck it will be sometime after i have healed maybe 12 months later. I'm really bumbed out about not getting to wake up with a flat tummy and no hanging skin. But at least they are looking out for me and i do want to wake up so it's for the best.

i have to get a total unfill in the morning. I'm having hernia surgery on the 14 and drs wants my band unfilled cause I swell so much. It's a good idea but am nervous I will gain. He says once the swellings gone i can get it put back. It's the first time I will have to do it all on my own. I don't think i'll fill like eating much anyway but still nervous about the surgery and me doing it on my own.

It will be two years for me at the end of november. I hoped to be at goal by then of 170-180 but I think I've done great. I'm fitting into 14-16 jeans depending on who made them. I'm 5'5 weigh 188 at the moment hasn't seemed to budge for a good while. I have 10 cc band with 6 in it just got a fill with 1 1/2 cc and am so tight I might have a tad taken out very soon. 5 1/2 cc would have done the trick. I'm loving my band would be lost without it. In the process of trying to get approved for a hernia repair with me paying for the muscle repair and tummy tuck. My insurance is really stressing me out. They don't want to pay for the hernia if its performed at same time as rest. My dr thinks its safer for me to just have one surgery rather than two. so may just get the hernia repaired and forget the rest. But I am going to appeal one time before giving up. i'm tired of being in pain from the hernia so if they don't give in i will. It looks like u r doing great yourself. My weightloss was very slow too so don't be down on yourself. At least we have lost is the way i look at it. Do u have much hanging skin? Does the feeling of fat ever go away I wonder. Cause although i have lost alot i still feel so fat.

I pay 778.00 a month for my insurance and just found out my hernia repair is not covered by my insurance because i'm paying for my muscles to be fixed and skin rmoval. They said i could have have hernia surgery then later have the rest at a different time if i was paying for it. So this would mean two surgieries cut in same areas for know reason. but having it all done at same time is exclusion even if im paying. i sometimes get bloodclots so another surgery is more risky them both at same time. I'm gonna apeal has anyone had this problem with insurance not wating to pay for the hernia?

My ps surgeon wants me to have the lapband surgeon move my port up by my ribs and shorten tubing before he does surgery has anyone herd of doing this?

When is your date? I know mine is next month but will get the exact date today when I go in. Are u getting lipo done with the tummy tuck? Are they tightening your muscles at the same time? If u don't mind me asking how much was your starting weight and what do u weigh now? R u coming home with pain pump? How many drains will u have and were will they be located? Is your outpateint? I am getting very excited but very nervous already Good luck with your tummy tuck.

congrats on the tummy tuck! Some have said they came home with a pain pump did u? I have also heard some come home with two drains did u? Did they provide u with the binder or did u purchase that on your own before hand? did they do liposuction with yours I wasn't sure if that is included in a tummt tuck?Did u stay overnight or was it outpatent? Sorry so many questions just curous. you said u was walking after first week how far? How long r u gonna be off work? How long till u could lift weight if u wanted? Is it 6 or 8 weeks? Did u have your band empty or leave it full? If so did u have any problems with that?

I have made an appointment with the ps for Tummy tuck and Huge Hernia repair. My appointment is on Oct 17 and I can't wait. I have already talked to the office staff and my surgery will be in November I don't get the date till I go in on October. My insurance is paying for the hernia and have already paid my part for the full tummy tuck including muscle repair. I still have 15 pounds to get off by then but I'm not worried with the exersice I do each week I'll make it. My dr goal for me is 180 thats what the lapband dr set it so thats what I will be. If I go below 180 with my bone structure I start to look kinda sikly. coutning down the daYS

So last week i weighed in at band dr and weighed 196 yay me! Today I put a pair of 16 jeans on and they were lose...yes lose! I started jumping up and down with joy. This has been a long journey still have a ways to go but today I was actually proud of myself for once. I will be having plastic surgery in Dec full tummy tuck and muscler repair with the dr also fixing a huge hernia with mesh. I'm so excited. I'm gonna get down to 170 before my surgey in Dec. So how are some of u 2009 bandsters? Are u still glad u got the band? I sure am I could always lose weight fast but never keep it off. My dr says with the help of the lapband he feeld I can keep it off. COME ON GUYS I WANNA TALK TO SOME 2009 BANDSTERS AND HERE YOUR STORIES.

i WENT TO THE DR YESTERDAY AND I WAS SO SUPRISED WHEN I LOOKED DOWN AT THE SCALE IT SAID 196. MY DR WAS SO PROUD OF ME TOO FELT GOOD!!!!!!! I GOT A FILL 1CC SO A TOTAL OF 4CC IN 10 CC BAND DON'T THINK I WILL NEED A FILL FOR A GOOD WHILE. STILL HAVE ONE WEEK TO HIT THE GOAL I SET FOR THIS MONTH. NOT SURE I WILL LOSE 6 POUNDS LIKE I WANTED BUT HEY THATS OK. hOW IS EVERYONE ELSE DOING WITH THERE BANDS?

For it to be medically nescessity for insurance to pay what were the guidlines u had to meet if u don't mind me asking? Did they tighten your muscles cause it looked like it? I am having a full tummy tuck muscle tighten new belly button along with a huge hernia fixed in Dec. I go speek to the ps agian at the end of october he is gonna put me on schedule for 2nd week in Dec. He is going to submit it to my insurance to see if they pay for it. I have contacted them and they don't actually have guidlines to meet they just decided if its medically nesaserry and tell u yes no and tell u why if not. But I am preparied to pay for it. Did u come home with a pain pump? I know some have. any info on how your dr stated it was needed would be great. My skin doesnt hang as long as your because my hernia sticks out so much it kinda holds it up making me look like a basketball. Your pictures look awsome. U done such a great job on losing the weight.

have been able to eat pretty much anything for the last month as long as I take tiny bites and chew chew chew. When I can eat small amounts of bread its time for a fill. Going this week can't wait till i'm all tight. Not sure how much to get I have 3ccs in my band. The last fill I got 1cc and was tight for a good while almost to tight. Leaving for vacation in a week and half so I don't want to over due it. My drs office is 2 hours away so I won't be going back for an unfill before I leave for vacation don't have enough hours in the day to schedule that. So what do u guys think 1cc or half. i do want to be really tight cause vacations people tend to eat more and gain. But then agian I don't want to be missreable. So Lets see who thinks 1cc? who thinks half cc? whichever with most votes I'm gonna do cause I can't make up my mind. i need to lose weight on vacation have an appointment with ps when get back. Have to have a huge double hernia surgery in Dec so my Dr has recomennded me get a full tummy tuck at the same time. he says the hernia is so huge that when he puts my intestence back the skin hanging will pull down effect. That could cause the hernia to come back. he is going to try and get it approved by my insurance. But they usually won't cover it. But I am prepared to pay for it if they won't. My hernia has gotta so bad i need to have it done soon as possible. and while my deductable is met. So I'm gonna put it off till his last surgery in Dec too by me some more weight loss time. I want to weigh at least 170 wish I could pull off 160 but I don't have enough time. Already doing all the exersise and dieting that I can fit into each day with work and the kids and my other resposibilitys. SO GUYS NEED YOUR HELP WHAT DO U THINK?
