It is exactly two years i've been banded. I look back at how I struggled to get to where I am today.long road but i'm happy where i am at today. I still plan to lose about 20 more pounds but i'm in no hurry. I love my band best thing i ever done having to do with weightloss. It doesn't seem like two years have went by. so how r some of my november 2009 bandsters doin?

Good luck! It is so exciting even though I had complications and didn't get to have my skin removed. I would do it agian...I still plan On getting the panni after i heal so sometime next year. I just don't have good luck when it somes to surgerys but so worth it. keep us posted girl!

last monday i had a hernia repair and my tummy muscles tightened. with my history he told me i'd have to have the skin removed later. after waking up i learned i needed a blood transfusion cause i lost to much blood. then drs started going in and out of the room i herd one on the phone saying i think she has kidney damage too. i started to freak and cry not knowing what woukd happen. a nurse grabbed my hand and said will u trust me i wont let anything happen to u i promise. they finally used a mens catheder on me because i was so swollen a female one wouldn't work.\ and did get urine. I had two bags of blood that day. The next day two more bags of blood. Finally on the 5th day everything was going good i got to go home. I have to say i have never been so scared in my life and tomorrow that nurse will know just how she touched my heart with her hand. I am starting to have bowel movements everyday which is awsome before the hernia repair it was every 7 days. My stomach looks great sure wish he could have taken the extra skin off but my health is more important so ill wait till next year for that. My drain is still brite red i thought it would be like a light red. sure hope i get it out tomorrow. how long did u have to wear the pain in but garmet? The bottom of my stomach looks so smooth and flat but the top still looks pudgy. when will this start to look more flat/ thanks for any suggestions

I have to be at hospital at 6:45 for open hernia repair with mesh and hes gonna tighten my stomach muscles. I'm so nervous already. I had all my band unfilled except 2cc four days ago. I tend to swell alot so it was recommedned by br. I will be in the hospital for 5 nights. I tend to get blood clots so they r being extra cousious and to make sure no infection. i was suppost to be having full tummy tuck too. But they decided it was to much at onces with the huge hernia. H e has to remove old mesh to that needs to be repaired and my complication risks during and after surgery. so if i decide to do the tummy tuck it will be sometime after i have healed maybe 12 months later. I'm really bumbed out about not getting to wake up with a flat tummy and no hanging skin. But at least they are looking out for me and i do want to wake up so it's for the best.

i have to get a total unfill in the morning. I'm having hernia surgery on the 14 and drs wants my band unfilled cause I swell so much. It's a good idea but am nervous I will gain. He says once the swellings gone i can get it put back. It's the first time I will have to do it all on my own. I don't think i'll fill like eating much anyway but still nervous about the surgery and me doing it on my own.

It will be two years for me at the end of november. I hoped to be at goal by then of 170-180 but I think I've done great. I'm fitting into 14-16 jeans depending on who made them. I'm 5'5 weigh 188 at the moment hasn't seemed to budge for a good while. I have 10 cc band with 6 in it just got a fill with 1 1/2 cc and am so tight I might have a tad taken out very soon. 5 1/2 cc would have done the trick. I'm loving my band would be lost without it. In the process of trying to get approved for a hernia repair with me paying for the muscle repair and tummy tuck. My insurance is really stressing me out. They don't want to pay for the hernia if its performed at same time as rest. My dr thinks its safer for me to just have one surgery rather than two. so may just get the hernia repaired and forget the rest. But I am going to appeal one time before giving up. i'm tired of being in pain from the hernia so if they don't give in i will. It looks like u r doing great yourself. My weightloss was very slow too so don't be down on yourself. At least we have lost is the way i look at it. Do u have much hanging skin? Does the feeling of fat ever go away I wonder. Cause although i have lost alot i still feel so fat.

I pay 778.00 a month for my insurance and just found out my hernia repair is not covered by my insurance because i'm paying for my muscles to be fixed and skin rmoval. They said i could have have hernia surgery then later have the rest at a different time if i was paying for it. So this would mean two surgieries cut in same areas for know reason. but having it all done at same time is exclusion even if im paying. i sometimes get bloodclots so another surgery is more risky them both at same time. I'm gonna apeal has anyone had this problem with insurance not wating to pay for the hernia?

I am having tt on nov 29 getting nervous already.

My ps surgeon wants me to have the lapband surgeon move my port up by my ribs and shorten tubing before he does surgery has anyone herd of doing this?
