OK NEED ADVICE....I can eat egg not scrambled, chips potato soup one toast but if i eat chicken, hamburger meat, ham, fish, tuna fish, hot dog, green beans, mac cheese, mashed potatos. It seems to push its way back out my throat after getting this major pain in my chest that will not go away. I DO EAT VERY SMALL BITES AND CHEW CHEW CHEW AND IT DOESNT MATTER IT STILL HURTS TO EAT. SO THEN I GO DRINK WATER GO TO BATHROOM AND BEND OVER IT COMES RIGHT OUT AND FILLS SO MUCH BETTER. I CAN NOT STAND THE PAIN AND ALL IT TAKES IS THE WATER AND SIMPLY BENDING OVER OUT IT COMES. I REALIZE THIS IS NOT HEALTHY AND I CANNOT CONTINUE TO DO THAT SO MY QUESTION IS SHOULD I GET AN A LITTLE UNFILL. i FEEL I SHOULD BE ABLE TO EAT SAY HALF PIECE A CHICKEN BREAST AND SAY SOME GREENS BEANS WITHOUT IT HURTING OR COMING BACK UP. HELP ANY ADVICE PLEASE

hurts to eat? not a lot of restriction.
skinnygirl replied to dragonflylover's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I went thursday for a .4cc unfilll which brought me to 5.1cc. My dr says if stuff dont sit well after you eat you need less fluid in the band. He advices his patients not to torture there selves by trying to old out without getting unfill. Being to tight can cause more problems in the long run. You could make your asaphagase swell. Not really sure if that is spelled right though. My band is still a little tight but i'm going to give it a try for awhile. -
I have waited so long to hit the 50 pound mark and as of this morning I lost 51 pounds. I'm so excited !!! My next goal is 35 pounds to get under 200. I got .4cc taken out of my band yesterday and I think I still need some more taken out next week. I still feel really tight but Im hoping it losens on its own so I can have some easter dinner. Cant wait for moms ham and my hashbrown cassrole even if i only eat one tiny piece of each. I'm sure there will be plenty more dishes to choose from.

Mother's Day Challenge Anyone?
skinnygirl replied to MommyOf1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will say 10 for me by mothers day. Good luck guys! -
I eat mon jack cheese string two a day for my snacks and they are great. I won't eat the other cheese strings at all. They only have 70 calories each and does the trick for me. I am so addicted to them. They don't seem to be causing me any problems. How many calories are you eating? How much do you work out each day. Maybe you should eat more calories than usual for a day or two then go back down in calories sometimes that tricks your body and you begin to lose agian. In the past it has helped me when stuck in a rutt.

6 months progress
skinnygirl replied to kechianyree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This sounds crazy but while on my 6 month diet that my insurance required I gained 30 pounds. I alos broke my foot during that time though. Had surgery on 11/23/10 and have lost 48 pounds since. My goal for six months is 70 pounds. But I agree everyone loses at differant pace. Depends on what you eat how much you work out and your metabo. -
I got .5cc last week and have not been able to keep anything down but 1/2 cup broth at a time or a popsicle. I have had hard time drinking without it coming back up. Has anyone with 5.5cc had this problem???? I lost 8 pounds last week wich is great hope I don't gain when I get some taken out and can eat solids.
-
When it is that time of the month are you more tight? I am so tight I have only been able to eat broth and popsicles. It has helped my weightloss this week though. Yay for me this morning I could eat a cheese string. Yummy I was so hungrey for food.

I have 5.5 in my band and my band is so tight I'm having trouble getting my protein in. I had 1/2 cup homemade potato soup blended to liquid for breakfast, lunch and supper. after a fill it sometimes takes me a week to be able to eat. Last week lost 7 pounds this week lost 2. I have to pay 75 if I get an unfill so I guess I'll just have to dill with it. Not sure about your problem but my inlaw has the realize band and she gets tight like you mentioned it happens to her alot. She just eats what she can till it passes. good luck!

How long before you loved your Band?
skinnygirl replied to delopez3's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I started experincing pbing and not understanding what was happining or why. There was a time I thought what have I got myself into. I want this thing out! But after alot of hard work and learning a new way to eat that thought has changed. I have had my band four months and lost 41 pounds and I'm tickeled with my progress so far. My weight has just recently started to budge so that gives me hope it will keep going. I hope to reach my small goal of 200 by the start of August. I wouldn't say I love my band yet but I have just started to like it. Me and the band still have alot to learn about each other before I fall in love with it.HE HE!! -
Dr. Jeff Allen - Anyone used Dr. Allen?
skinnygirl replied to ethompson's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Dr allen is my dr he is great. My surgery went great and the after care was good.I love his office staff they are so freindly. I have had my band since nov 23, 2009 and have lost a total of 39 pounds. He told me today to keep doing whatever I was doing cause I'm losing great. I do have episods of pbing if I dont eat slow. slow beans baby bites and let it actually go down before taking more bites. after my fills I have to do liquids sometimes for a week because of the swelling. Then after a week i can go back to solids slowly. I have 5.5cc in my lapband. I exercise everday, I use the treadmill for 1 hour and half. I plan to join a gym hopefully next month so I can use other equipment in the gym. I would like to tone up as I lose more weight. My goal is to lose 40 more pounds by the first of August. I hope to here from others who have dr allen. -
I got a fill last week the dr told me to come back on the 24 because he wanted to make sure i didnt have a small leak. I am really tight still, wouldnt i be lose if i had a leak? I called the office and asked but the dr incisted I come tomorrow so he could check make sure. I guess its better to be safe then sorry. Has anyone had a leak before if so what was your experince with that?

How are you guys doing with your weightloss? How much is in your band? How is your restriction? What is your biggest challenge with the band? I seen someone post this for oct and enjoyed reading it. Its good to see how others are doing with the same month surgery date. It gives you a boost..If they can do that then I need to try harder.. It helps me stay on track. so come on November bandsters how are you doing???
-
As of march 23 I will have had my band 4 months. I have lost 39 pounds as of this morning sure hope i can lose one more pound by morning that will bring me to 40 pounds in four months. I had a fill last week and I think I hit my sweet spot at 5cc. Can someone tell me what the sweet spot feels like. I have to be very careful when I eat because my band is so tight. I have to take bite and weight for it to go down before taking another. staying full for about three four hours depending on what I have to eat. it is so weird to actually feel your food going into your stomach kinda freaky. thanks so much for all your good advice from those on this support group.

November 09 Knockouts! Check in here POST surgery! :)
skinnygirl replied to PrincipalsOffice's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
finallyncontrol, You have done great 62 pounds since nov 23. Ihad my surgery on the same day and I have only lost 38 pounds. I'm hoping to lose the other two pounds by the 23 that would equal 10 pounds a month since surgery. I did have some medical probems along the way two surgerys so i'm happy with my progress. What are some things you have done to lose the weight. How much are you eating maybe examples o f a dayss food. I have 5 cc in my band. I think its good to here what others are doing. -
Is there anyone at restriction at 5cc or am i a freak! lol
skinnygirl replied to Whillow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Went for a fill four days ago started with 3.7 and have total of 5cc today. I am way to tight I have to eat soup for breakfast lunch and supper. I have tried to eat other things like pringles chips they go down good i have had a very thin slice cheese.I tried spaggetti with meat sauce and it kept slimming up and felt the tight feeling in my chest. So then I just stuck with potato soup which goes down just fine. I sure hope it losens up soon. How long do you guys have to wait till you can eat solids after a good fill?? -
how much was the run keeper app?
-
Has anyone had a port that leakeed? If so can you tell me how they found the problem and what happened next.Dr gave me a fill and told me to come back next week and he would check to see if i have a small leak in port. How do they check? If he just takes the fluid out and checks how many ccs I have why did he not do that today?

Don't underestimate...
skinnygirl replied to ElfiePoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Elfiepoo, I think you have done great! You have lost 45 pounds since nov. thats more than me and I don't do the Protein shakes. I do get my 80 or more protein in though. You are the only one who knows what your body needs. My dr also likes for us to drink Protein Shakes if we don't get our daily protein or if we just want something to keep us full longer. I havent needed them but on my feel days and the next day. But in the future if I need them more I see nothing wrong with them. -
Does anyone who has the band do weight watchers or have you did it since you got the band? If so can you eat your points worth and do you still lose?
