Thank you. I now have protein once a day usually in my coffee since it is chocolate flavored. I am feeling absolutely no restriction so I am definately going to call the doctor soon. I went to vegas and gained four pounds as I relied on only my restriction to help me. I am sure I will lose it as I am going back to the 30-20-30 and my own imposed restriction. Hope you are doing well. Thanks again for writing.

My doctor's office requires me to eat 3 days of clear liquids. Today I called them and they said I could add protien drink like Isopure but how disgusting are they. So I went and bought Whey protien at 24 g of protein per 8 oz. This will not hurt me will it? :crying:

Eating different meats or foods is different for everyone, but just in case you haven't tried red meat, keep it in mind. When eating red meat cut up the pieces really small and eat only a 1/4 or less of the amount of meat you would normally eat. If you eat 4 ounces of meat normally, 1-2 ounces might be all you can handle. This became prevelent for me today. I am finding it true almost everytime, especially with roast, steak, bbq chicken etc, etc.

Could I Need Counseling
emirichmond replied to jetsy62's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG! I am not alone. It is really hard for me to keep in check my cravings and my need for self sabotage. Yet, I am seemingly so proud of myself for the 63 pounds I have lost. It almost at times makes no sense. Just tonight I reached (successfully, unfortunately, for a small snickers) and ragoons. I do not know what drives me. All I know is I have 110 lbs. to lose yet and I do not want to be fat anymore. I will hopefully continue. My problem is I get to 60 lbs and then I start sabatozing. I have done it with every diet and now it seems I am going to do it with the band too. I really am hoping that I will find enough restriction with the band where eating too much will not be an option. Until then I will keep trying to keep my self in check. -
Is it normal to be sooo tired after surgery?
emirichmond replied to LindaD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was very tired after surgery but it came back. What's weird is that I became very tired the last two weeks of May. I found that I had no energy. I started taking an extra multi vitimin, a b12, an iron, along with my Calcium Citrate(all chewable, of course!). Now I am beginning to feel better. Hope this helps. -
Congratualations! I cannot wait to join you.

Does anyone know how to do this. I know how to create one, but cannot get it to post, nor have I figured out how to load pictures of my January's before pictures. Can someone help? -
Instructions Needed for posting pictures and weight tracker
emirichmond replied to emirichmond's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I will try. . . thanks! -
yes, you can eat chicken or at least I could Day 5 post surgery. Of course you can only handle about 1 to 2 oz with some veggies. My nutrionist said this 1/4 to 1/2 cup per meal; eat 2 bites (very small ones) of protein to 1 bite of fruit or vegtable. Eat until you are satisfied not full, only eat for 20 minutes. Follow the 30-20-30 rule. 30 minutes before you eat, stop drinking, eat only for 20 minutes (without drinking), and wait 30 minutes before you drink again. If you feel yourself getting hungry after you eat, wait 60 minutes before you drink again. Only eat 3 times a day.
Hope this helps.

unfortunatly, sugerless does not mean carlorie-less. I would not think in terms of cheating, rather health. Is it healthy to be eating the ice cream. After two weeks, shouldnt you be experimenting with chicken, 3 starches (carbs) a week, veggies, etc. I would talk to your nutritionist and ask where you should be. . hope this helps. Sorry for the misspellings

I so wish they would do that for me. I have yet to feel restriction and I really wish they could do something like you described. This 1cc to .5 cc at a time is just costing me more money. I can drink 2 to 3 oz at a time and feel nothing, full or not full.

Can one succeed, at weight loss, without a supportive partner?
emirichmond commented on che4u's blog entry in Blog 66881
I am not sure why they do not want you to do it; I am sure they want you to be healthy. Maybe they are unrealistically afraid of losing you. Work on reassureing them. And yes, if you want to do this, lose weight and be healthy, you can do it, with or without the band, remember the band is just another tool. -
I am so glad to read that the half cup is after it has been chewed. I have been eating about 1 cup to 1 1/2 cup since my first fill. I almost fainted on 1/2 cup a day and so I contacted my nutritionist and she said sometimes it's ok to eat that much.

How Many cc's in your band and how is
emirichmond replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
how do I find out how many cc's my band is. I know I have 7cc filled so far and feel very little to no restriction. -
Hey everyone!!! I'm new.
emirichmond replied to Klandes's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I have only had 7cc so far. I keep telling my doc that I am not satisfied nor do I feel restriction but they will not try more than one cc at a time because I am losing weight. I am losing weight however, because I am refusing to give into cravings (most of the time). I just hope I can keep going. -
I am starving too. I just had my 3rd fill. I hate this "fill diet." Sixty calories a day is going to kill me, I am sure. I cannot wait until Friday.

I thought the same thing. My doc and nutrisionist told me it would work if I worked it. I have taken their advise and so far its working. I had the surgery January 7th and I have lost a total of 53 lbs. Just listen to your doc and eat right. Here is the rule 30-20-30; wait 30 minutes before you eat, after you drink; eat for only 20 minutes and then wait 30 minutes before you drink again. It has saved me.

How much weight loss before first fill?
emirichmond replied to MsGulfCoast's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 18 lbs before my first fill. I just recieved my 3rd fill today and at my doctor's office I have to have a 3 day "fill diet"- clear liquids (broth, jello, and water). I am starving. I am not sure I am going to make it until Thursday.
