Mayo Banditos / Friday Weigh In !!!!
witchy_Jenny replied to Scorpioqt's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
good for you, BMaz on your weight loss and first fill! I laughed when I read your comments about the ticker! same thing happenned with me-can't get it on my signature page-also the weight amounts like to change after you enter them! I'm struggling with no weight loss and feeling like I still have no restriction at all after 2 fills. I have the large band with 3cc's the first fill about a month ago and the second fill of 2cc's more last Friday. still feel like I can eat whatever I want and do, often times. Doing the liquid diet for over a month total, it's like I'm all out of willpower or something. my next fill isn't for another month so it will be a struggle. My surgery was may 5 so going on 2 months and no more weight loss. People at work are asking me how it's going and all I can say is that it's going slowly but I had really hoped to have lost a lot more by now. I read that one really helpful post about how the band actually fills and refills and that helped me out. I know it's not uncommon to take a long time to lose weight so if anybody out there wants to share their story of slow weight loss or taking forever to find the right fill level I would really appreciate it!!! :smile2: thanks, Mayo Banditos!!!! This thread is GREAT!! Happy Friday and Happy Independance Day to ALL!!! -
How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills
witchy_Jenny replied to Wendell Edwards's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
great info, thanks. I just had my 2nd fill and still haven't really lost any weight. I especially found meaning in your comment about taking time to learn to trust it. Prior to reading this I'd begun to wonder if I would have been better off w/ the Bypass but now I feel a renewed sense of hope. -
Mayo Banditos / Friday Weigh In !!!!

Hi, Munger! When did you have your surgery? Have you had your first fill yet? It is normal after surgery before your first fill to become frustrated and feel a lack of restriction in your band. A couple of weeks after the surgery, the swelling goes down and it tends to feel like you can eat anything and everything so if you're in this boat don't be dismayed and just keep your eyes on the prize. -

Mayo Banditos / Friday Weigh In !!!!

Hello, all Mayo Banditos! I finally came out from my bandster hell cave after getting my first fill Wednesday (two days ago). YEAH!! I feel so good again. Was really struggling with feeling bad about the lack of restriction and my humongous appetite. :-p But my Dr. said it's all good and put 3 cc's in my large band. Down 16 lbs on Wednesday and down 3 more today. Woo-hoo! I love my band!! Happy Friday everybody!! -
Hey, all. I've been skulking around for a couple of weeks and thought I'd finally register since I'm officially in bandster hell. Lost 10lbs pre-surgery on liquids. Lost another 15 post op but have begun to gain back. I bought a scale last night and it looks like I've gained maybe 5lbs. Bummed out about it but reading other posts from knowledgable members really helps. My 20th h.s. reunion is June 27 and I won't be as think as I'd like, of course. Kinda dumb to be so vain I guess but oh well! My first fill is June 10-two weeks and it seems like forever! Any advice on getting through bandster hell and feeling like a pig would be greatly appreciated! Best, Jenny

Thanks, FangDoc. Your supportive words helped me a lot! I just weighed myself this morning and it looks like I've only gained back about 3lbs so that makes me feel better. Yay yay yay for you!! You're getting back on track with your first fill. You go Fang!!! Soon that ticker will be going down down down. :-D Thanks again and have a great day!! -

Thanks, Jazie. That's what my friend told me too. Still, it kills me that I'm gaining weight. ARRGh. But you know what? I'm just gonna buck up and take your advice and not be too hard on myself. It's a journey, right?!! "The only way to succeed is always to try just one more time" Thomas Edison Thanks! Jenny -

Hola, Mayo Banditos! I was banded on Shrinko De Mayo (5/5/09)! Just registered today and was hoping I could find a group of people to 'band' with, LOL. So, I'm TOTALLY in bandster hell and feeling like a piggy wanting to eat everything in sight. My first fill will be June 10. Two weeks and hopefully I will have some relief! Lost 10lbs pre-op then 15 more as of a week ago but now I think I've gained back about 5! Arrrggg!! Why did I buy that stoopid scale last night at Target!!?? LOL So how are you all doing?
