    Shoe size question

Ladies, I love cute sexy shoes, but as you know the larger one is the harder it is to wear those 4 inch heels. Also, my feet have gotten larger over the years. Did any of you go down in shoe size as you lost weight? Thanks, Sydney
  2. So I am down 30 lbs and have some clothes that are too big, as well as lots of winter clothes in my old size. I know I will be much thinner by next winter. However, my head keeps saying... what if that weight comes back, or the band won't work. (I know it will.) So I am here to ask you to tell me to do the right thing. To let the clothes go!!!!! *giggle* Sydney

Mirena IUD and no weight loss

I don't really remember :w00t: I will say it is not slowing down my weight loss now :rolleyes2: My IUD was one of the best things I ever did for my health, except for the band.

    The Band and Divorce

I am in a similar situation as well. Although, mine too really has nothing to do with the band. My band was a result of seeing the value in me... I know I will be fine, although I have a young child, and that is making it way more devastating emotionally. Good luck everyone I will be thinking of you.

To fill or not to fill...

Yeah, but gut is to wait, but I will see what the Dr. says. The weight loss has certainly slowed. Sydney
  6. So guys, I am pretty new to all of this. I was banded 5/13. Did really well, had good restriction. On June 3rd I had 1.5cc's removed from the band that had been placed in surgery. I have about .5 left in there. My appointment the end of June was cancelled due to the Dr. needing to be in surgery so I am rescheduled in a couple of weeks. I have lost 40 lbs including my pre-op. So 40 lbs since May 1st. My eating is as follows, usually I am not hungry in the AM at all, I usually have tea with some skim milk. lunch I can can what feels like a sizable meal to me. several oz of meat and a side. At dinner it is the same. I am not hungry between meals. I do WANT to eat at night, but figure I am either hungry again because I stay up pretty late, or it is head hunger. I don't feel like a need a fill cause I am not getting hungry between meals. However, I do feel like I am able to eat too much at a sitting. Thoughts, suggestions? And of course I will chat with the doctor about all this. Sydney

    Is this normal?

Did your Dr. send you home with an eating plan? I am still on mushies 4 weeks out. I agree, I would talk with your dr about this. Sydney
  13. First off I want to give you some *hugs* I am only a month out, so I am not in your situation. I have PCOS, and the band seems to be working for me, so perhaps it is different for different folks. Are you currently in therapy, it has done wonders even before surgery for my emotional eating. I too was a binge eater, it is insane the amount of food I was putting in my body. I was always surprised I didn't weigh more than the 270 I did. I would suggest finding a good therapist and go from there. And maybe you haven't found your sweet spot yet, that is possible. Good luck hon! Sydney
  14. Hi I was banded May 13th. I am amazed at all of those of you who are moving on to real food. I am on mushies for another week. Then soft, then real. Honestly, I am so tight that I am okay with it. I went in with some pain last Wednesday and the Dr. took out some of the fill he put in at surgery. I am now sitting at about .5ccs. I am doing really well, and am really happy. My struggle is getting in enough calories. I end the day between 450 and 600 most days. Hoping that when I move to soft foods that will go up a bit. Congrats to all, looks like we are all doing amazingly! Sydney

    2 days post op!

Did your doctor give you a list? I wasn't allowed cottage or ricotta until the mushy stage. The SF pudding, and popsicles more than cured my sweet tooth right after surgery. Good luck, you will be fine.
  16. I was banded 5/13 and I have PCOS. My surgeon will not recommend one surgery over another as he feels it is an individual choice. I have lost 28 lbs (including my pre op diet) and am doing quite well. Sydney

Mirena IUD and no weight loss

I got mine a year ago...I just got banded. I did put on weight after getting it, and I would say it slowed my loss...but I am loosing. Good luck, maybe your body is just adjusting... Sydney
  18. First off, I have already called the Dr. and waiting for the Dr. to get out of surgery to let me know if he wants me to do a barium swallow. I was banded 5/13 and have not problems until now.. I woke up yesterday feeling like someone was sitting on my chest and I had a horrible sinus headache. Honestly the worst I have felt in my life. I took a shower had some fluids, and decided to go to urgent care...by then my chest seemed much better. I had a sinus infection and Fluid behind my ears. I got an antibiotic and some nasal spray and went on my way. I had a couple of bites of ricotta/cottage cheese from the inside of lasagna..and maybe 15 minutes later the pain in my chest started again. I was at my SIL's house but but by the time I got home I thought I was dying. A few hours later I was able to get to sleep. I woke up at 4 this morning with the same feeling. Felt better for awhile, had some Water and a Popsicle and felt okay, not great... Had some yogurt a bit later, felt fine while eating it, then maybe 10 minutes later ouch..... This is when I called the doctor. The pain is hard to describe...right now it is a dull achey feeling, sometimes it feels like a spasm. I don't think I have been stuck, and I have no fill in my band. Any ideas? Sydney
  19. So just to follow up...I assumed I had no fill in my band... Dr. explained that there is always a bit in there when placed. Anyway I had about 2cc's in my band, it took out all but .5cc's and I feel like a new person. Sydney
  20. Thanks, I will keep you posted. I know the band can get tighter from stress/illness both of which I have had, just don't think that is possible with out a fill.. Sydney
  21. I was doing amazing until I started having some pain yesterday. I suspect it is just swelling...although not sure from what. I have an appointment tomorrow to check things out. I have felt physically great and have lost about 25 lbs if you count my pre-op diet. I am looking forward to my new life.
  22. So I just got off the phone with the doctor's office. She asked what I had eaten the day before. Do you think some pureed tuna could have caused the pain, she also mentioned eating too fast, but I am pretty sure I ate slowly. I have an appointment tomorrow with the dr. until then I am on liquids.
  23. sydney1976

    Oh yeah!

    Congrats!
  24. I had some clear liquids on hand. I pre filled my prescription, but I only took once dose. I would say some things to do to keep you occupied. If you live with someone you can always send them out for what you need.
