I've had an amazing week, just wanted to share. First, I bought a size 6 pair of pants (down from a 22 last July). Secondly, I took my resting heart rate Tues. and it was 60 (down from 80-85 a year ago). Then I had my measurements done at Curves today and have lost a total of 72.5 inches! And my most exciting news was that I got a new job this week. One that I would have never had the confidence to even apply for a year ago. There's travel involved and a lot of interaction with people. Before I was always so tired and did everything to avoid being around people because I was so ashamed of how I looked. I love my sleeve and just want to thank God for this opportunity to live life to it's fullest!

I have a desk job so I went back in exactly a week. An hour nap after work was routine for about a month. Then again, I go into work at 5:30 so maybe it was just the 4 am alarm making me tired.:001_unsure:

Second Thoughts. Did anyone else feel this?
Nanna509 replied to lovemyhorseys's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I agree that probably everybody has second thoughts. I sure did and at times I've thought "what have i done". Now I'm almost 7 months out and was in a size 22, last weekend I bought a size 6 pair of jeans. So, do I regret this? NO!!!! It's to the point now I see my husband down his 4th piece of pizza and it kind of grosses me out. Hard to imagine because a year ago I could eat a whole one on my own. I think it's good to have some doubt, it makes you really research what you're getting yourself into, but in the end it's so worth it! -
That's wonderful! Just think, it's only the beginning! I'm almost 7 months out now and it's incredible the things I can do now. Keep up the good work!

You're all doing so well! Way to go! Congrats DeeDee on getting to goal! :thumbup:Isn't the sleeve great! Well i finally broke my stall. Weighed in at 157.4 today. Sat. was my 6 month surgiversary. I'm down a total of 93 lbs! Bought a size 8 jeans yesterday. Down from a size 22.

Way to go DeeDee!!! Well, weighed in at 160.2. The scale has not moved in 12 days now. Sorry for the tmi, but my bowels haven't moved in 9 days. Trying not to get discouraged. Miralax here I come. It's been cold and dreary and definately fighting head hunger. This too shall pass!

Thought I'd joing this thread. Been struggling the last couple of weeks. Congrats, Deedee!!!! My 6 month surgiversay will be on the 13th. Weighed in at 160.8 today. Down 90 pounds. My goal is 140. Been stuck at 160 for 8 days now. Just want to see the scale say 159!!!! Have been bad with the carbs lately but still going strong with the exercise. Keep up the good work!

I know exactly what you mean, Ash. I too have shrank more up top. My legs are fine, but my stomach and hips are the last to go. I'm at 163 lbs, 5'6 and in a size 12 pants but can wear a small top. It's all the stomach! Hang in there with the 30 day shred. I've added Jillian 3 days a week and in the last 2 weeks I've only lost 3 pounds but my pants are feeling very loose in the waist. Would love to start running but terrified of injurying my knee(s). They've popped since I was a kid.

I was looking for a new workout video to change things up a bit. I've been walking and doing Curves since before my surgery in Aug. I got Jillian Michaels' "Banish Fat Boost Metabolism". WOW, what a workout! Denfinately not for beginners, but if you're looking to loose that last 10-20 pounds this one is great! Very challenging. I lost 5 pounds last week.

You look amazing!Only 10 more pounds, congrats!

Chancie, congrats! Sorry, I'm seeing this a few weeks later! What a great accomplishment! -

Help with crushed pills
Nanna509 replied to angel96049's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor suggested a tbsp of sugar-free Hershey's syrup for the crushed pills. It worked really well. -
I agree, NO REGRETS! I had my surgery Aug. 13 and as of today, I'm down 80 lbs. I have so much energy, it's insane!!! This has been such a blessing. It's definately NOT the easy way out. I've been reminded of that the last month as we've gone to Christmas parties. Lots of temptations and the reality check that this is a lifelong way of eating, not just while loosing weight. But it's totally worth it!

I found these at Dollar General. You just poor boiling water over them and I use Splenda.

okay, it's not a recipe but thought I'd share. I've been having trouble getting all my water in because I only like water really, really cold and now that it's cold outside and I've lost the weight I'm constantly freezing. Anyway, Celestial Seasonings has some holiday tea flavors out, one is Sugar Cookie and the other is Gingerbread Spice...they are caffeine free and taste wonderul. The Sugar Cookie is my favorite! The smell alone will give you a "fix".

Thanks, Newmom, I'll try this. My gyn did mention putting me on a birth control pill, but my husband had a vasectomy 10 years ago so I could stop taking pills. I really would prefer a natural remedy.

Does anyone else struggle with pms. I mean like 8-9 days out of the month feeling totally out of control. I could kill for a piece of bread, cry at the drop of a hat then 2 seconds later be so mad I could hit someone, tender breast and so bloated I can't even think about sucking my stomach in. Then, as soon as I start, harps begin playing and sanity is restored for another 15-20 days. It's horrible. Not to mention it's bad for weight loss. I've mentioned it to my pcp and ob docs, they both just kind of shrug it off.

:thumbup:Hi all! I've been missing in action for a while. Just wanted to update. I'm about 3 months and 1 week out. I've now lost 67 lbs. Started at 250 now at 183. Finally bought a size 14 this weekend. Haven't seen that in about 15 years. It hasn't been easy, I've worked my tail off, but I know I could never had done this without the sleeve. I've worked this hard many times before only to loose 5 lbs and regain 8 after a "bad" weekend. So, no regrets! My biggest problem now is controlling my shopping addiction.

For the most part I stick to the rules: no drinking 30 before/after, protein, protein, more protein, no liquid calories and I exercise 5-6 days a week. Part of the weight loss did include 13 pounds lost during the pre-op. I see your surgery is on Friday. Congratulations! It is definately not the "easy" way out but I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Hello! Yes, I'm about 20 min from downtown Nashville. Been here my whole life! I love reading your post, your always an inspiration. Thanks for sharing your story!

I'm about 3 and 1/2 months out and I exercise 5-6 times a week. There is a Curves right next to where I work so I go there during my lunch break 3 days a week. The other days I do a lot of walking or pop in a Denise Austin dvd. She's so perky, I love it! Ash, I want to try the Zumba. Where do you find that? I use to do jazzercise for years (at 245 pounds I was a sight:biggrin0:) but the leader retired, then it just wasn't the same. This woman was 60 and had the body of a 25 year old. I try to look at exercise like an experiment. To see what my body can do. It's truly amazing to see what the human body is fully capable of. And the energy afterwards is incredible. I'll drag myself there and an hour afterwards I'm full of energy. It's great!
