How can I get myself to go to the gym??? I'm too embarrassed.
Ariel replied to blahblahblah's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I go to a gym that has mostly beautiful women. At first I was scared to go there but it is the nicest gym that i have even seen soo i decided to join it. well the women there are so supportive and helpful. I love taking classes and they encourage me and are all so nice. People can really surprise you. Give it a try. -
i just saw my pcp today for the same thing. I am 7 mos. out now though. She ran a bunch of blood tests and said she will call me monday with the results. Since you just had surgery 4 weeks ago i would say that you should call the surgeon and let her know.

Don't say gall bladder say hernia repair. That way if you ever need you gall bladder out you won't need to make up another story. Hernia repair also explains the liquid diet following surgery.

The best thing for me is apperance and self confidence. The worst is the slow weight loss. I know slow is healthier but I just wish it was faster. -

- I just signed up for rowing. I have wanted to do this for the past 2 yrs but i thought i was too fat. Now i can't wait to get started - I'm not freaking out about the first day of my nursing lab, we were told to wear a sports bra and shorts as we would be giving each other partial baths, this time last year if i was told that i would have considered dropping out. -being able to use any bathroom stall -not sweating as much -Having room in my chair!!!! -feeling like i have a life again and that I am worth something -
My doctor also picked my goal weight.

It is usually from a lack of potassium or calcium. Easy fix have a bannan and a glass of milk. You don't need to go out and buy a suppliment. Good luck and tell us if any of the ideas help.

If you have really bad cramps you may want to look into endometriosis. But since banding my periods have been really regular but the pain has been turned up a few notches. I hope that they figure it out.

Hey guys, I was banded in Dec and just recently I have been getting these weird pains in my stomach that seems to go away with food. Now they don't feel like hunger pains so I'm really confused. They are more achy, in fact the first day that it happened I went to liquids because I thought food would make it worse. Does anybody have any ideas or similar experiences?
-
huh weird. Maybe it is my bands way of saying that I'm hungry it is sooo wierd. It does in no way resemble what hunger pains were to me pre banding or even a month ago. Those pains were always sharp and this is really dull. I'll bring it up to my doctor, but I guess my hunger singals just changed.

It's not a diet to me. My eating has gotten a lot better, but I don't really restrict myself.

Brush your teeth. After dinner brush and then if you are tempted tp eat, the food won't taste as good. You may have to brush your teeth a couple times during the evening but it works. The only thing that tastes good with brushed teeth is water.

I think with the new law you need one. You should act fast because it is about 15 weeks to get a passport now.

throw up one week post op?
Ariel replied to Biggest Loser's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got the stomach flu a day after being banded. I threw up prob about 10x. I called my doc, she told me to go to the ER. They checked my band and said it looked perfect. So i wouldn't worry about throwing up alittle once. If it gets out of hand call your doctor though. -
How many fills did it take you?
Ariel replied to wadew1976's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Four fills for me too. I could prob. go for one more small one, but right now the only thing I can't eat is lettuce and I want to keep it that way. It's remarkable how the weight starts falling off once you get the right fill. -
wow thats rough. That staff needs a wake up call. I would give it a little more time before i switch hospitals. Although it might be a good idea to call for an app. now since most of the times there is a long wait to see the doctors. I hope things turn around.

Yesterday I was watching everyday italian and she made these little mini frittatas. i was wondering if anyone here knows how long a frittata is good for. Since i can only eat a little bit now i don't know if it would be worth making it, if they need to be eaten within an hour. Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure what is could be but i hope that you feel better real soon. I'm curious what does your doctor think it is, if you don't mind sharing?
