that's so wierd i just a list of what to bring with me to the hospital and on it is gasx strips. I will have to ask the doc. about that. Thanks for the heads up.
-
Camille i have to pay $500 to the hospital before the doctors does the surgery. I was talking to the doc about that and she said that it is not her charging it and she thinks it is mean. the hospital says its for covering things that insurance don't cover like the cost of the paphlets and the nut. That really bugs me since my insurance does cover the nut. And since when does paper work=$500! All the area hospitals charge the same rate, so i feel your pain.

Tom where do you get your data? I checked online and found articles that put the number of white people buying hip hop and rap at 10-15%. In the past it was reported at 70% but those stats have come underfire because it never asked the participants their race, the record labels just assumed. Once they begain asking for race that number dropped by 60%. i got my info here poplicks.com/2005/06/who-buy-hip-hop.html i would love to see where you got your 85%. And i believe that my point is valid about the racial implications of a baggy pants law, perhaps you believe otherwise but here in Boston this issue has come up and it turned racial.

Tom, i'm not wrong. If you noticed in my above post that i said people from the hip hop/ rap culture usually wear their pants low. i mentioned nothing about carribean blacks who would prob. be listing to reggae. And i'm from Boston, i went to boston public schools, i know all about people who wear their pants low. Maybe in NYC things are different, but you can't tell me i'm wrong because you do not know what my experience has been. I'm sorry if this post seems harsh but I don't like being told I'm wrong about something that i have first hand experience with. Also a few of the school systems here tried to band baggy clothes but they couldn't because an uproar was created about it because of the racial connotations.

This is such a waste of man power. Plus i believe the more they try to enforce it the more people will rebel. Then the ACLU would get involved because it could be seen as targeting minorites because that style of dress is prevalent in the rap/ hip hop culture. Basically it is opening up a can of worms that is not just not worth it.

Let the Joyous news be spread: New Jersey votes yes on Gay civil union!
Ariel replied to Sunta's topic in The Lounge
Congrats! And I truly do not understand why anyone would oppose gay marriage. Most of the excuses have to do with religion which has no place in politics. Seperate church from state and the problem goes away. Anyway how can God, who unconditonaly loves everyone make acceptions? -
wow that must have been some bad marriage.

Hey i have a question for all the nurses out there. When you took health assesment did you preform the tasks on yourself or a partner? And what did you wear. Next semester i have to take health assesment and i was talking to some girls that are taking it now, they told me that they preform the exams on each other, all of them including finding the femoral pulse and feeling for the intercostal spaces across the chest. They said to do these everyone wears just a sports bra and shorts during class. Now there is no way i am about to take off my shirt in a room full of these perfect girls. (none of the girls in my class are overweight none!) How was this handled at your school? And what should i do? I would rather drop out of school than wear a sports bra to class.

and lets not forget the chafing

Ok so i guess i will just tell the instructor that i will do the assesments but only if i get to keep my clothes on. thanks everyone.

Exercise Clothes Any Good Recommendations?
Ariel replied to kareyquilts's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have alot of my luck with target. The only thing i can never find is a sports bra that fits and dosen't squash. -
robinem, we are all human. Don't beat your self over alittle slip. And isn't it funny now that a slip is a slice and a half of pizza and 2 wings. Goodluck with tomorrow

For me, gym membership. i found a really nice all women's gym that i love. Look around and see if you can find one that fits you. Some gyms you walk into and feel like you have to be a size 2 to workout there, while others are much more accepting. Goodluck!

Could your old PCP write the letter for you? Good Luck!!
-
yup i really like that idea.
-
Just keep thinking that this is temporary. I noticed your ticker are you on pre-op liquids? You can do this!!!
-
Are you joining a gym? Many gyms will give you a few free personal training sessions, they can help you to set up a exercise program thats right for you. As far as weight limitation I don't know, but you can def. hurt yourself if you do not know what you are doing.

I don't know of any one that failed it. my eval lasted 5 mins. She asked why i wanted the sugery, what reserch i have done, what support network i have, and then she did a mini mental test. The mini mental just involved asking basic questions how old are you, who is the president, where are you, the one tricky one was say the months of the year backwards starting with January. It was sucha breeze, i had so much anxiety about it beforehand, but it really was not that bad. She even told me on the spot, that i am a great candidate for surgery. Congrats on the insurance approval!
-
YES!!!! I am the same way. I can't wait until i have my sugery (dec. 27th) I want the surgery done yesterday. As far as dieting no i haven't tried any yet since i decided to have the surgery but i am think of going on slim fast, but then i think of all the diets i have done before and how hard and useless they were.
-
How would you know if you had once if it was put in while you were out and taken out while you are still out? I had surgery before with a cath and its no big deal at all. I always thought that caths were required for all surgery.

Basically. Lots of wires!
