different feel to hunger and fullness?
Ariel replied to bsimoes's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's interesting. For me hunger is the same and full is a little different. The full feeling comes fast and can quickly turn into pain if you keep eating. -
I used to have really bad reflux before the band but it has improved soooo much post banding.
-
you are doing pretty good, i wasn't able to go online for about week after banding i was so sick. Just keep taking your pain meds and it will get better alittle bit everyday. The first week is the roughest.

welcome to LBT! I don't live in wyoming but i just wanted to wish you luck. Have you gone to your band doctor? That would be a great place to start, you might need a fill. It is a lot harder losing weight with the band than i expected too, but i think in the long run it will work. we didn't become obese in a year so we can not expect our selves to lose all our excess weight in that first year. good luck!

oh man i can not wait for that shopping spree. I am looking forward to going to all the stores that i have longed for and just shopping my little heart out. My dad said when i hit goal we will go on a trip to the mall of america. =) i can't wait for that!

i have acid reflux and i used to get that lump feeling when it was not under control. How long ago did you see the ent? Don't worry about going to see your doctor she/he will just be happy that you lost 60 lbs and are ready to work the band. Welcome back!!

I can shop at the Gap and Old Navy's regular womens section again!! It was sooo depressing when i out grew the gap and the best part is when i went i was not even the biggest size that they have.

I got it the day after and honestly it was the best period i have ever had. Usually i have so much pain but with all the pain killers i felt nothing. it was such a breeze.
-
Yup, i love them. They are soo easy!

Try mystic tanning. It is a professional spray that works really well. They have them at the normal tanning salons. You stand in this tube thing and it sprays you for i think 30 seconds. It looks really natural not orange like the store stuff.

I love Big medicine. I htink they do a good job but i really want a lap band episode. I hate the show INSIDE THE BROOKHAVEN OBESITY CLINIC. I was watching it the other day and they had 2 people that had decided to get GB and the narrator said well they hace opted for the fast easy way out unlike like _ who will be working hard and doing it without surgery. How can a show about obesity be so negative towards bariatric surgery? I was afraid that Big Medicine was gonna be like that but i was really happy with the show.

What is the best brand/model of MATTRESS for larger-size people?
Ariel replied to prepster's topic in The Lounge
I have a Natures Rest bed and it is a pure delight. I will never buy another brand. -
Length of hospital stay
Ariel replied to Angeladarling's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I ended up having to stay 5 nights. I picked up a lovely little stomach virus so i wasn't able to go home until i could keep down liquids. It was so boring but all the nurses were great. -
Hey Tammy. I was banded in dec and have just lost a little over 30 pounds. It is going much slower that i expected but atleast i am losing. I just had my 3rd fill last week, my doctor is very conservative with the fills but i guess in the long run it will be better for my overall health. But right now i am losing faith.

Need to pick my surgeon in MA...
Ariel replied to gingin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would highly recommend Dr.Ashley Vernon at Brigham and womens. I absolutly love her. The pre op and post op care has been great and she is so concered about all her patients. She will stay with you and explain everything until you are comfortable. Obesityhelp.com has a feature where you can read reviews about surgons that how i picked Dr. vernon -
denise it seems that me and you have the same exact problems. I didn't want to download a program but it looks like i will have too. Thanks for every ones suggestions.

I too have a tilted port, so tilted that they also thought it was flipped so I feel ya. Mine has gotten better i went from needing both the doctor, the PA and multiple shots of lidocaine to one stick and no problems Shockingly it only took a 10 lbs weight loss for the port to get into a better postion. Good luck with yours.

wow she sounds like a nut. if it makes you feel any better during my eval i was asked what hospital, what city, what year etc. The shrink told me that at my particulat hospital that has to be asked of every patient. Goodluck with your band and forget that psycho!

I have firefox but it dosen't spell check for me. And i really need it to, how would i make it spell check? Thanks guys

I agree with the others. You shoud get an unfill first and decide from there. Also the big plus of the band is that it can be complelty unfilled so you don't have to take the risk or the pain of a removal surgery. Talk to your doctor and share your concerns. Do they know why your stiches keep coming undone?

I found one of the best things to tell people is that they have to undestand obesity is a medical condition. And you treat a medical condition with the best avaible resources in this case the lap band. If you had breast cancer no one would dream of telling you to fight it yourself. Once people see obesity as a disease state they can usually understand, but some people refuse to see it that way.

carlene you are too funny. I third the dell, I'm using a dell latitude as we speak and i love it.

I have no cards either. I was told that the lap band would not set off any air port secuirty measures since it is made out of silicone.
