Freedom Fighters Weekly Weigh In
healthy-me-in-Az replied to Juniper's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi everyone! I lost 3.2 lbs this week. I haven't seen this weight since before I got pregnant (9 years ago!) YAY! Last week's weight: 197.2 Today: 194.0 -
Hi Ladies! Today B: unjury chocolate shake with banana and pb L: half a meatball (seriously, they are almost gone!) Snacks- 4 pb M&Ms, 2 coconut cashews D: half slice turkey roast, third cup mashed potatoes with gravy and 1 baby carrot Ugh, ate too much for dinner. Started to get that 'too full' feeling so I stopped. I really don't know how I could be so restricted with no fill but much more than a half cup of food and I feel yucky. I can't wait to record my weight for the week tomorrow. The scale seems to be moving this week!

not as well as others appear to be

I am glad you are starting to feel better. It took me about 3 weeks before I stopped feeling like crap. And I also compared myself to people who said... 'oh I feel great, I went back to work 2 days later'. I thought for sure something was wrong with me. I think everyone just reacts differently. And it sounded like you were still swollen. At my 1 month appt my surgeon commented on how swollen I still was. I asked her why and she said some people just react that way. It pretty much turned around for me about the 3 and a half weeks out. I hope it does for you too! -
Carbmaster yogurt is a Kroger brand. I work for Fry's in Az, which is owned by Kroger. That is why we carry it. Any Kroger should carry it. I am not sure where you live. Ralph's, Smith's, Fred Meyer are just a few of Kroger companies. Tell me where you live and I will tell you what Kroger company is there, if any. And just a note, it is not as sweet as some of the yogurts. I like the taste of Yoplait light better for the great stats I am willing to sacrifice.

Your Attitude Towards "Treats"

I think this statement is 100% on the money. Losing weight is ALL MENTAL for me. You said it perfectly! -

For Monday: B: unjury shake with Peanut Butter L: carbmaster yogurt D: half meatball and zucchini ribbons dessert: quarter cup vanilla ice cream Had an appointment yesterday. She was happy with my weight loss. I lost 10 lbs in 4.5 weeks. I am not hungry between meals and I am still eating a small amount of food. So, no fill for me. I can't wait to read that news, Amy! I am rooting you on! :tongue2: -
Hi everyone! I step on the scale every single day. I only record my weight on Mondays. But today I got on and the scale said 199.4! That was my labor day goal. I didn't think there was ANY way I could possibly make that but... there it was! YAY! It's been two years since I have seen ONEderland and it was only a brief visit!

Hi everyone, We are all basically about 2 months out or coming up on it. I think the 'honeymoon' phase is pretty much over at this point. Reality is setting in about what having a band really means. I think for all of us it is so different. Some of the things I have seen others struggle with, I haven't had and I think I am struggling with some things I haven't seen mentioned. For me, weight loss has always been more mental. I get in this 'magic zone' where my brain is in the right place and I do the things I need to do and BAM, 40 lbs slides off. Somehow I fall out of that zone and gain it all back. This has been my pattern over and over. The quickest adjustment for me has been portion size. My dr had me on real foods 4 days post op. My husband served me a quarter cup of something and it looked absolutely huge. A half cup of something still looks huge to me. My mind made that adjustment immediately. I don't know why. Fear, probably. LOL The other adjustment has been success. What I mean by that is, in my mind, failure is not going to happen. I WILL lose this weight. I WILL get down to my goal. When will it happen? That I don't know... but it WILL happen. I mean, I could lose weight before... just couldn't keep it going to get to goal. So now I have that tool that will keep it going. I have not been perfect. I have experimented with what I can eat. I have eaten Pasta and bread and cake and Cookies. I guess you can say I have sampled them. And that is ok with me. It's not going to stop me from getting to goal because this is a lifetime solution... not a quick fix. I have tried to take the emotion away from the scale. I weigh every day. I look at what it says and shrug my shoulder like, 'ok'. It is just a number. Now, I will admit to a moment of weakness on this. I have my 2 month appt on Monday with my PA. I have TOM this week so my scale hasn't moved. I thought, 'if I do shakes all weekend I bet I could lose a few lbs before Monday' NO! NO! NO! That is a DIET mentality and I REFUSE! It is, what it is on Monday and that's that!!! I think our perception is almost more important than anything else. I feel successful in this, so I am. Having said that, I still haven't started exercising yet. And I haven't had a single day yet where I got my full 64 oz of Water. <sigh> It's a work in progress! We can do this. We ARE doing this. How fast or slow, doesn't really matter. What matters is that we keep at it and don't give up!

Hi Bobbie! I am not a 7/7, but I was banded on 7/10. I have lost a total of 40 but 12 of that is pre-op. I have lost 28 lbs since 7/10. So, going by that, I think you are doing great! As far as staying the same for a few weeks, are you still walking? How about changing that up a little? Maybe walk with a few small hand weights or walk a little longer? Also, how about your eating? I find I am eating the same things. Try to change up what your eating. I don't think we can let our bodies settle in... I think we need to keep mixing it up. Good luck! You can do it! We can do this!
-

B: slice of fresh pear, half carbmaster blackberry yogurt L: about half cup of turkey chili with cheese and sour cream one bite of brownie someone brought to a meeting (DAMN THEM!) D: half turkey burger with carmelized onions and swiss cheese, couple bites of sweet potato water: boo, hiss  exercise: not much Really need to get on the ball with the Water and exercise thing.
