  1. Happy 47th Birthday Teeparty!

  2. I agree, Carrie, it is really hard. Before surgery, it wasn't abnormal for me to have 3 glasses of fluid with a meal. I am working on it, but sometimes I still must have a drink!
  3. Mine is on the left side, about 2 inches below my ribcage, about 4 inches from center.

Pain on left side- what is it?

Andrea- I am 7 weeks post op and have had the same kind of pain on my right side. (my port is on left) My pain falls between the two trokar scars. Feels just like a strong stitch in the side as when exercising. I had my fill last Wed and mentioned it to my Doc. He said it was likely muscle pain in the healing of that area. I see him again next week. Hopefully, by then it won't hurt anymore.

    Realize Band?

I was banded with the Realize-C band on May 20th. I have had no issues. I didn't know I had gotten the "C" until after surgery. The "C" is 11 cc versus 9 cc for the "non-C". My surgeon said that he liked it for the pre-curve of the band. My incision scars are minimal. I have a one-inch scar at my belly button and 2 inch-scar at the port. The other 3 are like a thick pin point. I don't know if that is because the "C" is easier to put in or if it is just my surgeon's touch.
  7. If you are drinking enough water, a ketone test may not show ketosis. Do you know how many carbs you are getting in on a daily basis?
  8. When was your surgery? I was banded 5/20. That day I had a light show that turned into a full week period. This was even though I take a BCP straight through (don't stop for a week) and didn't miss a day. Sometimes if I miss a pill, I will have some break through bleeding. Also, if I lose significant weight I can get a period out of the blue. It is something about estrogen being stored in fat tissue. When I was 15, I had an appendectomy. I got a period out of the blue with that and they told me then that that is not uncommon with stomach surgery.

    I had my surgery.

Congratulations! I was banded on May 20th. I still have a bit of pain at the port site, but otherwise doing great! How about you, Pretty Butterfly? ¿Como Esta??
  10. You are going to laugh. I bought DH an Electric Cigarette. He is not a heavy smoker and has been wanting to quit. The Electric Cigarette is basically a hit of nicotine minus all the tar, ash and other crap that is in cigarette smoke. There is even a vapor that looks like smoke as you exhale it! It is pretty cool. My sister in Indiana has been using one. She is a heavy smoker and has cut her real cigarettes in half! I hope this works, and I hope he isn't mad. He told me not to buy one, because "He can do it on his own." Welllllll, that isn't working so well. I think he said that 6 times ago. Poor guy. Smoking has never been a problem for me. Tried it at 15, hated it and never touched one again. My entire family smokes except me. But I am adopted. None of them have a weight problem, but my birth family does. Isn't that interesting?

    Two days to surgery

You don't have to shut up! It is so exciting to finally get there. Trust me, you will be back home from the hospital and in the next phase before you know it. Best wishes for your surgery!
