 CONGRATULATIONS:thumbup:. I am so excited for u. We are growing by the day. Go April Bandster Bunnies. We are going to do just great. What a blessing to have a second chance at life. -
I really think that your tone is a bit harsh. We are all aware that most of us are not medical professionals. However, we are all either going through similar experiences or already been through it. As a result, it is not necessary to have a judgmental tone with one another. The main objective of this site is to provide peer support and learn from each other We are all here for support and advice. Maybe, I am reading your post the wrong way and if I am let me apologize. She cheated on pre-op, so have I and thousands of others that have gone before us. It is not how many times you fail that makes you a failure. But how you recover and move on. @ BriBri90, if you are very worried, please call your doctor and I am sure that he will put your mind to ease or help find a solution to your minor mishap. I am sure that he knows that most of us are in this situation because of will power. If we all had strong will power to say no to our favorite foods, he may not have such a lucrative job. Girl, dust those pastry crumbs of your mouth and keep going. Peace, love and happiness. God Bless

CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not sure how long it took but u r home pretty fast. I am so happy for you. I am yet to be banded so I can only imagine what u are going thru now. I guess a little walk here and then is supposed to help release some of the gas. Also, I read somewhere that a heating pad does help move the gas along. Well, get u some rest and keep us updated. Well, I guess it is crunch time. My surgery is April 2nd and my 2 week pre-op diet starts to day. Through out my lifetime career of dieting, I have never started on a Friday. My pre-op consist of 2 protein shakes, 4oz of meat and veggies. Gotta love it. I have had headaches the whole day but I am sure I will be OK. By the way the UNJURY shakes taste pretty good. I tried the strawberry sherbet for breakfast and chocolate for lunch. So far I am very impressed.

I started my pre-op y'day. I did O.K during the day but for dinner I cheated. Well, I got over it quickly and promised to do better today. Well, I was 90% on point and then I went to SAMS Wholesale on an empty stomach. Big mistake. There were samples every corner I turned. I cld or did not say no. However, I made healthy choices such as the Tilapia samples they had. I came home and had my one real meal of the day. I am glad that I am going thru this pre-op, bcos it will give me a chance to get it together b4 I get banded. food addiction is just as bad as Crack addiction. SB: I am using unjury shakes and they do taste pretty good. -
Congratulations. I am in the same boat as you. My date is April 2nd. I am nervous, however, I am not letting that take control of my life. I think about life on the other side and then I calm myself down. There is lots of information on the Post-Op section of the forums. Please join the April Bandster Bunnies @ LAP-BAND Thank u

What the heck?!?! Why do people say the things that they do?
mamasugar replied to gingerjane's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First and foremost, u do not need anyone's seal of approval before you make decisions regarding YOUR life. You are a grown woman and if you want to go to Mars and live there, that is entirely your decision. I do not know your co-worker well enough but from what you are telling me she sounds a little jealous. Initially when she was being supportive she probably thought it was farfetched and now that the time is drawing closer it may be hitting home for her. Honey, live your life the best way you know how and people who stick with you can enjoy your success and the rest can go to hell in a hand basket. Don't even sweat it. -

Congrats to the new Bandster Bunnies. I am so excited that we are growing. Anyway, my pre-op testing showed that I have the H Pylori bacteria (causes stomach ulcers, reflux etc) and my doctors put me on a bunch of pills called the Prev-Pack. The medication makes u feel like the first trimester of a pregnancy. I was tired the whole day, bloated, nauseated, gassy and just an overall sick feeling. This is treatment last for 14 days. This is going to overlap with Pre-Op diet so u see I am about to be once crazy looking person:mad: From my research, I am not the only one with these side effects. Just thought I wld give a heads up in case anyone has to go thru this. :blushing: -
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know that feeling. I get banded 2 days after you. Lets keep in touch and good luck

Bandster Bunnies, for those of us doing the pre-op diet, my doctors office recommended unjury shakes because I am lactose intolerant. I was given samples but I have not tried them yet. Will let you know once I have tried it. I have posted a link to the website below incase anyone wld like to research them. UNJURY is Medical Quality whey Protein Isolate. Best Tasting Whey Protein powder. Most Trusted Whey Protein Powder Supplement. Taste the difference! -

I am not sure but when I meet with mu surgeon yday, he stated that if I had a hernia problem he would go ahead and repair it whiles he is in there. I am not sure what a hiatal hernia is but from a most of the post I have been reading it appears that some people had thier hernias repaired during the surgery. I would ask the doctor why? My 2 cents -

Congrats to all the April Bandsters. Today, I did all my pre-admitting work at the hospital today. I had a complete physical, EKG, XRAY and lots of blood taken. To top it all, there was a 5 hour Nutrition/Lifestyle Modification class. I learned quite a lot today. April 2nd seem so far away. -
Pre Surgery Weight Loss Attempt
mamasugar replied to gatlingirl's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Do not feel bad. Just take it one day at a time. U have come this far and this is not the time to give up. -
That does not sound right if you have insurance. Normally, they will bill ur insurance and whatever amount ur insurance does not pay they will send u a bill. Not sure why they are doing that but I would call my insurance company and verify first or shop around for another doctor that is more patient friendly.

how long for insurance approval?
mamasugar replied to MrMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also have federal BCBS (basic). It was a requiremnt for me. I am not sure if different agencies or different states have different paramenters. However, from my research we pretty much have the same requirements. Why, don't u call the phone # on ur ins. card and verify what their requiremnts are. All in all, they are one of the best in approving this procedure. Good Luck -
how long for insurance approval?
mamasugar replied to MrMom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They say 30 days, but mine took less than 2 days. From my research, it takes no more than 5 days. Their requirments are the most relaxed ones out there. Just meet the BMI, psych consult and nutri. eval and u are good to go. They are the best and I kid you not. -
Congratulations to all you guys. I am so happy for you. This is the begining of the rest of our lives. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

This is turning out to be the best year ever. By the Grace of God, my job is tranferring me to Huntsville, Al in the summer (where my family is). I get a huge raise in March. I have a surgery date for April 2nd for my LAP-BAND®. My hubby, finally got an interview date for his immigration status in March. We are buying our first home in the the next few months in Huntsville. I am just counting my blessings and I feel God has been great to my family and I. Hopefully, I will be able to get in shape, look sexy, get off my BP meds and enjoy life. Thanks for allowing me to share this with u guys. GO BANDSTER BUNNIES !!! -

I know. I am so excited all I can do is read lots of posts. I am sure that we all do just fine. -
I know about being the only "big girl". It is quite a challenge. Ufortunately, normal sized people are under the impression that losing weight is as easy as taking of your clothes. However, we are all made differently. I personally love to eat, however the mere site of food makes me gain weight. I am aware of my weight so I try to make an effort to make healthier choices. It does not always work. That is why I have decidced to take this step to help me loose the excess weight and be sexy in the process. I am here for u if u need to talk. take care
