I also got banded August 11, I still feel sored, chest pain when I try to breath, My doctor has been very expecific with the diet to follow, only Water and medicines, I feel very weak, but will manage, the only thing that makes me feel bad, is that I have experiencing a cough sometimes when I talk for a little while or if I am laying down in bed, my doctor prescribed something for that and hope it would do better. I still feel there is something pressuring my stomach, and I believe it should be normal, but I hope this feeling will dissapear with time, as it is uncomfortable. I just feel optimistic and know that no matter all this issues I will overcome and will loose weight and then I will realize it pays off. Good luck to everyone in this journey.

Well this may sound crazy, I got banded overseas, I am still here in Dominican Republic, my doctor has prescribed this medicines which are very unpleasant to taste, but I have manage to take them, only two small shots type of Water with the medicines three times a day and nothing else, no Protein, no soups, nothing, and this happened on August 11, since then not that I feel hungry, but I feel on starvation mode. Besides, I have started to feel a strange cough if I have a conversation, or right after I drink the water, also when I lay down on bed. Is something wrong with my band. I asked my doctor and he said is normal. My incisions are very small, and have no pain at all, but this situation of no aliments (at least protein shakes), is getting me thinking if I would become anorexic instead of loosing weight the right way. Has anyone any comments. Please let me know or give me any tips. Thanks,

I am getting banded aug/11 at the dominican republic, i am fliying tomorrow nite and arriving at santo domingo early morning aug 9. I am excited and affraid too. Hope everything is ok. Have lost 15 pounds on my pre-op diet and have been on liquids since monday (not so bad, and i did everythign as per my doctor's instructions). Good for me......................... I think that if you can inspired so many people like us, why not inspire yourself, you can do it, and you look amazing now, but if loosing 10 or 20 more pounds will make you happy, go for it, you said it, you are a goal oriented person, so keep with the good work and you will suceeed, just think of people like me whom are just going to start this journey and for whom you have became an inspiration, and that will give you the push to continue. You are the motivation of so many others, then go ahead and push a little harder and you will see how you will succeed. You are so closed to your final goal that I feel jealous (in a good way) Don't give up, don't discourage yourself. You Can Do It.

Hi Everyone::confused: I am getting banded on August 11, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. I have met my doctor via my best friend whom is a cardiologist and whom know what I have gone through all my life with my overweight, the issues of been overweight, the depression, health issues and lately the lack of self esteme. My doctor will give me a letter resuming procedure done and follow up instructions when I return to the United States, my only concern is, Will there be any doctor in the area of North Jersey (Passaic County) whom can take care of my fills and post operation follow ups?, if any one can give me suggestions, I am open to them. On the other hand, I have decided to have my surgery overseas, first because I am from Dominican Republic, Second because the Doctor was highly recommended to me, and third, because I have no Health Insurance and would not be able to afford it in the US (the cost out of pocket in US is between $20,000 and 35,000), my doctor is only charging me $7,000 as a package and includes everything from surgery, to one of the most known and professional hospitals in my country, I mean everything. Then I decided to go for it. I am actually 230 pounds, which I have accumulate during the last 4 years, been 5'2" it put me with a BMI of over 40, plus High Cholesterol, High Tryglicerids, High Blood Pressure and High Glucosse levels. I just want to be able to improve my health and self esteme. Believe me I have always been a chubby girl, my weight was always fluctuating between 140 and 165 pounds, but never this high. I need as much information as possible about this type of surgery, and if anyone knows a support group or seminar I can attend before my surgery date, I will really appreciate if you can give me the information. I have lots of expectatives about this new journey, and I know I will make it, but I need lots of support and information from people whom have already gone through this, and I am open to suggestions.
