  1. I looked into it a bit....in addition to the original cost of the unit, you have to pay a monthly fee for the software, right? Or is that something optional? I'm not quite clear.
  2. How nice of the office! I'm glad you're doing well.
  3. My surgery went smoothly, but I feel terrible. I have some pain, but what's worse I have nausea and diarrhea. Abyone else have this? PLs send me some feel better vibes.
  4. TThanks ladies! Your responses made me feel better (psychologically) last night and today I'm feeling much better physically. The nausea is gone...I just ate a popsicle. The diarrhea is still there but I don't have to go constantly. I think what really killed me was the barium swallow they did yesterday. After having nothing in you stomach you drink a big cup of this nasty, nasty stuff. I think that had to work it's way out of my system and the anesthesia too.
  5. Hmmm....I never heard of these. Off to Google!
  6. You're doing great! Congrats!
  7. No one wants to be sick all the time. Best of luck to you, Erin.
  8. I'll be watching this thread since I was just banded on 11/11 and this has been my experience as well. And I guess it makes sense, if you are not eating anything solid, then you won't be passing any solids. Hopefully the immodium will at least help slow things down.
  9. What exactly doe preadmission testing entail?? They just called me to set mine up for next week and when I asked I got a vague answer. I just want to be prepared. You know, clean underwear and all. :wink2:
  10. I have to be to the hospital tomorrow at 5am for my 7:15 surgery. I live 1.5hrs away so I have to leave my house at 3:30 am!!! I was kinda hoping for something later. Well maybe it's better that I don't have time to mull things over too much! I kinda feel like I'm gonna puke...nervous!

    Hight questions?

I would tell the Dr's office about the extra 1/2 inch and how important that 1/2 inch is. At some point before they submit it to your insurance, they should actually weigh and measure you, not just take your word for it. You could always hunch down ever so slightly when they take your height measurement. A lot of people here have recommended weights in your pockets or ankle weights, but when my Dr's office measured me they made me wear a hospital gown...so there was no hiding anything!!
  12. Good luck tomorrow, Turnip!!

  13. Good luck! I'll be thinking about you! Check in when you can. It's my turn tomorow...eeek!
  14. And all this time you've been worrying...... :tongue2:
  15. I'm in my 30's and they didn't even do a pg test. Granted I have an IUD and I'm pretty darn sure I'm not pg, but I'm still surprised they took my word for it!
  16. My program fee is $400 for nutritionist, psych consult etc. I think 4K is ridiculous.
  17. I would get one if I had the opportunity. I doubt I will b/c I am not high risk.

Hehe. The dog is like "Ok, are we posing for a picture?" LOL
  19. What a decision to have to make!! I guess I would choose my surgeon and then go with what he prefers.
  20. Thanks ladies. I've ben washing my hands like crazy and at work we have purell and lysol everywhere. I'm hoping that I have some immunity built up from somewhere. So far so good....sending healthy vibes to you all~~~~~~~
  21. Michelle, go to your user CP and then under signature; you copy and paste the code they give you on the ticker site there.
  22. Ah, I saw that you weren't supposed to call the surgeon but didn't see about the pulmonologist. Honestly it shouldn't take them that long. If they have already seen you and done all the testing then all the Dr. needs to do is dictate a letter and you should be good to go. I do know what you mean about the patience. The place I am having mine done requires a lof of visits (with psych, nutrition, group etc) and attendance at 2 support group meetings. They will not even submit my info to the insurance until I had met all these requirements and in some instances I was waiting a month in between visits! Also they told me my insurance takes 6-8wks to approve(thankfully it didn't) So it was frustrating. I amazed at how quickly some people on herer seem to get things done. I guess in the big scheme of things, that pulmonologist can't take forever. He will do your clearance, you will have your surgery and all this will be a distant memory. Good luck....I hope you hear good news soon.
  23. I know we're not supposed to have seeds and skin, so maybe that's why no fruit smoothies? Then after the liquid stage we're better off with solids b/c they keep you full longer. I like the November Knockouts! Although the November Moist Turkeys made me LOL!!
