    Lila's Lounge

Yeah, I'd rather be on the beach in the glorious sun rather than hanging out with the "snow" bums. Our snow didn't last long - enough to get into the spirit for some shopping and then warmed up to lose it (I don't know how I feel about a green Christmas.) I'm aching to build a real snowman. (Yeah, snowmen are my fetis! Love them to death) Have a great Christmas everyone! Hugs.

New here and soon to be banded!

Loreily, I LOVE pizza and I can only eat a few very teeny tiny bites. It's enough to put off the craving but I sit and watch the kids and they can polish off a medium without blinking an eye - my little one (8 yrs old) has so much energy he burns it off in a few hours and is hungry again. Sigh.... but at least I'm getting some energy back as I lose. Sorry for digressing....have a great Christmas!

    November/Christmas Goal

Well, I made my Christmas goal and beat it by 1. I went shopping for daughter yesterday and thought I'd try on some dress pants since mine are so very baggy. I was shocked and excited to find that I'm down a few sizes!!! If the daughter would let me I could "borrow" some of her clothes (she will not like that!) I'm scared about christmas but I plan on taking it one step at a time - I'm booking a fill for the second week back to work in Jan. Exercise is on my list of priorities and I will have the farm to walk about over the holidays so that should help. Have a great Christmas everyone and here's to seeing you "lighter" in the new year.

Where will YOU be on Xmas Day?

Wheezy, What a small world! Where do you live? I love the area - they live closer to Ormstown and the apple orchards. I love watching the sheep in the field across the Chatequay "creek" - it cuts through their property. I was hoping they got lots of snow for the kids - but my mom-in law says its all melted and now just muddy (I'll have to bring boots and extra clothes for them so they can play) They just had a new well dug this fall so at least Water won't be an issue. Hope you have a great Christmas and see ya thinner in the new year.

Where will YOU be on Xmas Day?

We're spending Christmas day at home so the kids can enjoy opening gifts from Santa (and I don't have to lug them to Grandma's and back!). Mother in Law dear hasn't seen me since I started this journey and if the reaction of co-workers is any indication boxing day could prove to be quite interesting. We drive to the south shore near Valleyfield (QC) and my in-laws live on a large farm (hobby one now) - they know how to throw on the food and beverage. The challenge will be how to politely say I don't have room for any more without Pbing..... I have a Doctors appt upon return to work in January so I'm hoping to impress him with even more weight loss - we'll see. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas no matter whether it's with family or celebrating quietly. Enjoy the rest too (or if you're traveling try to catch up on some favorite activity).

How do I tell my best friend???

This question is a real dilema and one I know we all struggle with. I chose only to tell a few friends because of the comments - backhanded or not. I just don't think having this "tool" makes it any easier to lose weight than someone else. We still have to make choices and if I chose not to stuff sweets in my mouth or get a fill so I can't take that second helping - that should be a personal choice and not one made because I'm being monitored by others. I feel fantastic and I love how being thinner feels. When asked how I'm doing it - I reply exercise and diet - and in reality that's what I am doing! I think you have to examine your decisions. I know that those I shared will always know but those I didn't share with will never know (not from me!) Have a great week!
  9. Way to go YODA! I know how you feel with the prices at the GAP. Mom in law sent me a pair of dress pants and "guessed" at the size. I took them in for a refund (bought at Penningtons in the plus sizes). I was SO EXCITED! I have a specialist appt after Christmas and I want to have lost even more to show him that it was a good choice. Have a great week!

    Chronicles of Cloe!!!!!

Hi everyone, I must confess I haven't even begun shopping - I've finally made my list - does that count?? I haven't even started the cards to mail. I was waiting for kids school pics (late this year) I have had a kidney infection recently and it wasn't fun. I'm happy that you got some good medication for it Cloe. You'll have to take care of yourself and keep hydrated. On the other topic - I do love the feel of my skin - it feels softer or silkier. I haven't told many about my band - I don't want to be under a microscope. But the weight loss is very noticable and everyone asks how I'm doing it. I have so much more energy for the important things. I can hardly wait for the next 10 lbs. I am looking forward to seeing my mother in law over Christmas - not the trial of coping with the huge amount of food and treats - but she has been so very supportive - compared to my mother. I think body issues are a part of losing but how we deal with them is a bigger issue. Hope everyone is having a great week.

    November/Christmas Goal

Good luck Nancy. November is almost gone but I still have a few lbs I want to lose before Christmas. Getting ready for a craft sale on the weekend and I wanted to share my success story. I baked Cookies and sweets for hours and I didn't nibble - not even lick my fingers!!Hubby and kids couldn't believe it - I was pleased as punch. Now to get thru the Office/Christmas parties. Suggestions???

    Green's grumblings

I think I'm too full. I'm having a hard time keeping anything solid down. I've tried a variety of foods but can't seem to live on anything but soup and Ensure. But with Christmas fast approaching I don't want to de-fill either. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. Advice???

    Fellow CANUCKS: User Name origin

I loved the Jeffersons and Wheezy was one of my favorite people! My handle came as a gift from a dear friend. I shared her journey with colon cancer and a few months before she died, she gave me a gund bear - with golden angel wings. She told me that a golden angel bear was a symbol of my gardian angel - and she gave me my e-mail address and this handle. I had a teenager (son) whose all grown up and doing very well on his own and now a teenage daughter (what a difference!). I have one more coming up and not due for another few years (thankfully I only have to survive one at a time!) Roxanne

    Green's grumblings

Green, How was your fill? I'm feeling very restricted but that's been good this week. I too was in Toronto for a fill last week. The weather was sucking big ones so I stayed at the clinic and didn't wander very far. Even saw some snow before I hit home. Have a great week!

    Parent/Teenager Poll

MMMmm. I have 3 kids - one is gone and on his own - doing well and staying out of trouble - actually he's a blessing. My middle is a girl - teenager and full of life - but I keep her busy within the community and volunteering at school. I had one incident with her and took away the internet and phone for a week and it hasn't happened again. It's my youngest whose always been the trial - although I love him to death and he is cute (and know it) I'm not looking forward to the teenage years. My mom still gives me advice even though I don't ask for it. I don't think you can ever take the "mom" out of mother.

    Neenagh's Nutty Nattering

Neenagh, Chicken does the same thing for me. And I find salad doesn't sit too well anymore either. Hubby says I have to chew more than 50 times (ha ha) I drive him crazy with the number of times I chew my food to make it small enough to go down. I had a bad experience last week when the "girls" and I went to lunch. I ordered soup (safe you think??) NOT! It was too thick and I felt the slime rising and had to excuse myself to the bathroom. Not a pretty site! One more lesson learned. Must run and finish another history assignment - is Christmas here yet???
