Mookie1 You must be getting excited! only a week away from surgery. How's the pre-op diet???
-
Diddo that Argon. Way to go!
-
Gaffer, You're right about that but some of the prices here are much cheaper even without PST. My son's in Calgary and we do some comparitive shopping - he loves to shop like his mom. It's still worth checking out.
-
Great new Lynn, hope you're feeling better! Have a great day!
-
Wow Cloe, Good for you. That's one off your list of things to do in 2007!
-
Hi I agree with Yoda, have you had it looked at by a doctor and what did the doctor say? Let us know how you're feeling.

This is one of the best sites and full of support. The band is well worth it and the journey will have constant changes but for sure there is always some one here who has been thru it, knows someone who has or has researched or heard of it. Great advice Wheezy. Glad you all have a wonderful sense of humor. Tongs - I thought about it and finally got up the nerve to ask during my consult - I had the priviledge of visiting a support group the evening before my consult - thus I was forewarned and forearmed.

Hope you're feeling better Lila. HOw's it going?

I'm another Betty Grable!

Cloe, Ya know I think I just needed a kick in the pants. I went to the gym today for a swim with the kids - my bathing suit almost fell off in the Water - now that would have been a sight!! Ha! Thanks for reminding me how successful 2006 was compared to last Christmas!! Here's to you fulfilling your goals too!

What are your 'non scale' New Years Goals
angel bear replied to bandiva's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good thread, 1. save for a trip 2. cut the elastic from the scale 3. concentrate on "playing" rather than work 4. Let go of things I can't change -
Chips were hot too weren't they??

Happy New Year Everyone. Good health, happiness and wealth in the new year and here's to seeing Less of all of us in 2007!!
-
Yoda, I feel for ya gal. My ticker is wrong too! I'm beating myself up but I'm back on track. Don't know how I could have fallen off the wagon but the rich food - and even in small quantities. OK enough. My Jan goal is to lose 10! Good luck gals. Carol: Congrats! You must be flying girl. Good luck for January.

Hi Ladies, I went shopping for me today. I was nervous and excited at the same time. I think my NSV is that I'm comfortable in fitted tops now and I went to regular stores - not Penningtons or the Plus size department. I gained 3 lbs over Christmas but if I watch myself I know that I will lose that again. food is not my comfort - I still crave sweets but I'm satisfied with a "taste". This thread is awesome. Thanks for reviving it - inspirational! You guys are the best. Best wishes for continued success, better health and more wealth in 2007!

Wheezy Whispers-AKA September's Goals
angel bear replied to Wheezy's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good for you Wheezy, Sounds like your holidays are going well. Have fun on New Years! -
The Hot tub sounds wonderful. I think I waited 2 weeks before going swimming but I don't have a long memory.
-
I probably would too but it seems like a good way to eat smaller portions. I have a tendency to get stuck.
-
Green, You'll do just fine. Take small bites and use chopsticks. I saw on another thread that it worked well. Enjoy yourself!
-
WOOHOO!!!! There was a cancellation and I have an appt in Jan!!!!

Great news Pam! Good luck. -
Mookie, You'll do just fine. Good luck and let us know how you're feeling. I agree that we're all here for you and we do like getting a rise out of YODA. She's the best!

The great thing about the band is that we can enjoy our favorite foods but not in the same quantity as before. I tend to "nibble" my favs when the kids get them or hubby gets a treat and I "share" his meal. I don't long for the all you can eats. My biggest thing is not being able to eat potatoes skins smothered in bacon bits and sour cream - I know tons of calories but oh so yummy! The Keg sounds like the perfect "last meal". Mine was Red Lobster - and it was delicious!!

Lila, Try and get some fluids into you. You don't want to get dehydrated - been there, done it and it's not fun. Try to take something that is warm in the morning and then very small bites (pretend that your mouth is a baby and you need to just put in very little at a time) wait in between bites to allow it to slide past the band. I know it will be tedious but this is what you have to do. The band should get looser towards the end of the day if you keep with the warm liquids or smooth foods. Potatoes expand and are like bread - try to stay away from them - they expand - or feel like they do. Try soups to get the band to stretch. Good luck. It only lasted about a week for me but it's such a bummer being away and on a beautiful holiday when you can't enjoy the food. Try picking off hubby's plate instead of your own - stolen food tastes better too!

Hi Becca, Aikido is a form of martial art in the form of self defence - not the attack kind like karate. Form is very important and I find the exercises very relaxing - great for concentration too! Knitting will get better with practise so stick to it. I now pump out baby booties for the RVH preemie unit on a regular basis - I can do them watching TV. Yeah and I love belly dancing - makes you forget the body image!

My friend started Yoga a few months ago - she doesn't do the head stuff and finds the classes relaxing and it fights her depression. If you start off slow you may find a new love. Hope you find a hobby that fits you!
