Please explain what the green zone feels like? I went for a fill today after 4.5 years. I had 5.5ccs of saline in the band prior to the fill. I was given .5ccs which took me to 6ccs. I was too tight and threw up water while in the office. My doctor removed .25ccs to get me to 5.75ccs. I can easily drink water without any restriction. How do you know when you are in the green zone?

What is the difference with being in the green zone and having restriction? For the first time in 7 years since getting my band, I am not hungry after a fill. I have been told that is the green zone. What then does it mean to have restriction?
-
Hi Pretty, I hope you get to green again soon. This is the first time in 7 years since getting my band that I am not hungry after a fill. There are still terms like restriction that I do not get though.

I love Strawberries and Cream. I have been trying to locate Bananas and Cream. -
I went for a fill today. I weighed and was told I lost 7 pounds since my March visit, which was 4 months ago. Day one and I do not feel hungry. I have head hunger. At 11:30 AM, I strained the broth from a bowl of Chicken Noodle soup. I discarded the noodles and sipped on the broth. Later, I had a few cashews. I just had a cup of hot tea, but my mind is still on food. My doctor wants me on liquids until Wednesday. Any tips to get through this liquid phase will be appreciated.

Thank you both for responding. I may possibly be in the green zone. I am not hungry and when I eat, I get full much faster than usual. I am making a conscience effort to follow the band eating style. I hope to see weight loss soon.

The searing pain concerns me. That is not normal. Have you consulted your surgeon?

Thank you! -
I need recommendations for a fill doctor in Houston or surrounding areas. It has been about 4 years since my last fill. My doctor now charges $250.00 a fill.

Starting from scratch... But with a WAY better attitude this time!

I did not have the best week (8/11-8/16). We celebrated my oldest daughter's 25th birthday on Monday. We went out to dinner and I allowed myself to have a small portion of noodles and rice at her favorite restaurant. We came home to cream cheese and pecan frosted birthday cake. I had a small piece the first day, but during the week, I had a couple more slices. Friday we had Family Game night to enjoy the evening with my youngest daughter before we took her back to her college campus. I made her favorite sliders and of course I ate a couple. Needless to say, I gained 2 pounds. Thank God for starting over! I am back on track and hoping to see the scale move in the right direction for a while. The support of this group is the reason I have not thrown in the towel. Melissa, thanks once again for sharing your story. We all struggle, but it is good to know that through the journey, if we remain focused we will reach our goals. -

Thank you Melissa! Don't get discouraged about the scale. You reported losing inches this week so that meant fat loss. You have a reason to Celebrate. Dee -

My first week back was a success. I am down 4 pounds!!!! I allowed myself a sweet treat at the end of each day and still lost weight. This week I will try and stick to sugar free Jello and Atkins treats. Looking forward to the next round of results. I'm feeling better about myself again. -

I hope everyone is doing well. I want to report that I am doing well since posting my return on Sunday. I am down 3 pounds as of this morning. I feel if I post my results more often than once a week, it motivates me to keep doing the right thing. I am very visual so to see my ticker moving in the right direction is an awesome feeling. I have not totally restricted my diet. I have increased the Protein and cut out as many carbs as possible. I'm eating smaller portions and consciously stop eating when I am full. I usually snack all day on the most unhealthy food items. Rather than eating candy all day, I've allowed myself 2-3 pieces in the evening. I don't think I can cut candy out completely. This way I will not crash and burn. In the past, I would go a few days without a treat, but before the week would end, I would come from the store with candy, Cookies and ice cream and binge on it all. It was an endless cycle. How do you all handle the cravings? -
I have come back to the Forum because my weight is creeping back on. I have committed to WLS eating again, but I know I need to exercise as well. I would like to have someone partner with me because I can't do this on my own. I have a Fitbit that will keep track of my activity. My goal for the next week is to get 10,000 steps in daily. Any takers?

Moxy, congratulations on your impressive weight loss!

Thank you Labwalker. It's been so long since I was on the Forum that I didn't realized I had posted this in the wrong section. I started a new thread in the exercise section. So happy to have you be part of this journey with me.

I need to put exercise back into my daily routine. My goal is to take baby steps until I exercise becomes second nature. I have a Fitbit and my goal is to get to 10,000 steps daily. Would anyone like to join me? I need to be held accountable.

I truly understand the head hunger thing. My biggest pitfall is snacking. I am going to be in control of that. Only healthy foods will be eaten when I feel I must have something extra. My go to snack is sugar free Jello. I read your post a second time because it was so motivating. What did you allow yourself on the liquid diet? I need to give my tummy a break and get back into WLS mode. -

Melissa, thanks for posting this. I could have written mostly the exact same words. My band was put in 5 years ago. The first two years, I followed the rules enough to lose 20 pounds. After having multiple bad fills, I gave up on the band. I too paid out of pocket and felt as of yesterday, this band will work for me. I was going to make an appointment for a fill, but decided to just follow the rules and let the weight loss happen. Good luck on your journey. I'm here cheering you on! -

Congratulations on starting over. I am here because I want to start over too! My band was put in 5 years ago. I always had trouble getting the right fill. I would either be too tight or not tight enough. My doctor had a revolving door type office, so I never had true confidence in the band. I have not gone in for a fill in over 3 years. My weight is creeping back on. Those of you who have switched doctors please tell me how that works. I have been told that most Bariatric Doctors will not accept you if they did not preform the surgery. I'm looking for a doctor in the Houston area. Any suggestions? -
I need advice...I am going in for my third fill in 6 weeks. I was told I have 3.5ccs in my band. I hope I do. 2 weeks ago the NP stuck me several times before she changed the needle. I was numb so I did not feel the multiple sticks. When she remove the needle and syringe there was blood in the saline. This has only started to concern me since I am going back tomorrow morning. Is it normal to see blood in the syringe? I do not know if she is filling the band . I have absolutely no restriction whatsoever. If she is sticking the soft spot on the port, why is there blood in the syringe? What should I do?

Atkins Diet Phase 1- I Need Some Help Ladies

Hi. I understand how you feel. Sugar Free Jello works for me when I need something sweet. Good luck! -
My nutritionist recommended that I use Calorieking.com. I am so glad she did. I can not believe how many calories I was eating each day. I could not understand why my weight loss was so slow until I started logging my meals. I am so conscience of what I eat now and the weight is coming off again.

I purchased the pocket size reference book for $7.00 and 5 of the 10 week pocket size journals. The journals were $3.00 each. I do not want any excuses for going over my daily calorie count.
