I'm glad you are better Carbgrl! I'm at 5.5 ccs and still no restriction. I hope my next fill will get me to the sweetspot. Thanks for posting. Let me know how you feel in a couple of days.

My total miles biked for the month was 71. That puts me at 11 miles over goal.

Thank you!

I would like to join. I do not know how to add information to a spreadsheet. If I provide my stats can someone update it for me? Thanks! Current 192. Goal 180 Pounds to go 12.

Jenai we are so thankful that you are keeping up with the miles for us. Will it be too much trouble to post it to both threads? I think posting it to September's thread will have the most impact if you can't post to both. Updating our miles on Saturday is a good idea. BTW, how is your arm?

I will add more protein to my diet and see if I am just as successful. My doctor pushes protein first at every meal. I'm in the habit of eating carbs first then protein. Old habits are hard to break. From now on my plate will have protein only for a while. What protein drinks have you tried? I've tried several, but find it hard to stick to.

Hi Carbgirl. I'm sorry to hear that you are too tight. How many ccs do you have in your band? Keep us updated.

Good Morning Everyone! It looks as though we all had a great month. I love reading the post and reading that you really miss it when you can't get a workout in. This past week I had a similar revelation. My usual bedtime is 8:00pm. I was watching tv with my 20 year old daughter. I had flipped through the channels and realized there was nothing on that I wanted to watch. I stood and said, "I'm going workout." My daughter was gushing over me. She kept saying how proud she was of me. I gave her a weird look, because at I've been working out for 2 months now. I then realized the impact of her words. It was 8:00pm and I was not headed to bed, I was going workout. WOW! Me? Nothing ever stopped me from going to bed at 8:00. THANKS and CONGRATULATIONS to all of you who have remained true to the challenge. I would have never made it this far without you. Keep sharing your milestones. You have no idea how much it helps to keep us all encouraged. I will set up the September thread, but we still need to post our final miles for August on this thread. I, like most of you am still exercising daily. Would you all mind if I just aim for a weight loss goal and not make it a goal for the challenge? Even with all the miles biked and inches lost the scale is not moving. I do not eat nearly as much as I did before my band. I need to stay away from kettle corn and ice cream. I need to be accountable for my food intake as well. The idea of getting more protein in will be a key factor in possibly moving the scale. I still do not have any restriction. Jenai, did the protein drinks replace your regular meals? Willowcat, congrats on the weight loss! Deb, I wish you a speedy recovery. We are so glad you came on board with us. Way to go Melinda!

Jenai I am happy to read about your 3lbs weight loss this week. That is just what I needed to get myself in the right frame of mind for setting another goal for the month of September. My weight loss stalled 3 weeks after surgery. Albeit, I have lost lots of inches, I want it all. Inch loss and weight loss. Tell me what you all think about setting our usual miles goal and maybe shooting for a weight loss goal too. I would set a weight loss goal of 8lbs for the month.

Week 4 18.95 miles biked 60.75 total .75 over goal

WAY TO GO WILLOWCAT!!!!!

Good job Melinda, Sparkles and Openag for getting those miles in. We will see you at the finish line.

Jenai, before I got to the end of the post, my heart was sinking. I thought, " Oh no. She hurt herself exercising." I felt bad, but continued reading and was very happy to hear your wonderful news. I am so glad you are healthy. I, like some of the rest of the team am in awe of your skills on the elliptical. I really am wiped out after 1 minute on mine. For now I am sticking with the bike, although I need a good upper body workout too. I will maybe challenge myself next month to do what I can on the elliptical and get the rest done on my bike. KUDOS to you!

Willowcat, I know you can do it! I pull my strength from you and the others on this thread. When I come on and read the post I know that you are faithful to this challenge. This is what keeps me faithful. I thank God for my Cyper Friends everyday. I am able to get more miles in on the weekend. I do 4-5 miles in the am and 4-5 in the pm. That's how I made it through the last 2 weeks. My goal now that I am back to work is to get at least 2 miles done before I leave for work and get more in after work. I can do 2 miles in 8 minutes. I can give up 8 minutes in the morning. I am compulsive about being on time for work. We must be there by 7:30. If I am not there by 7:00 I'm stressed out for a while. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!

I received my 4th fill today. I now have a total of 5.5ccs in my band. Since the fill this morning I have been cramping. Has anyone else felt cramping after a fill? Just curious. I haven't felt restriction yet. Is this cramping the first signs of restriction?

Week 3 8.25 miles 41.8 miles biked 18.2 miles to go First week back for teachers. I spent over 11.5 hours at work each day. 7:00am to 6:30pm. Students come back on Monday. I WILL get the remaining miles in.

CONGRATULATIONS Deb!

Welcome to the challenge Melinda. We are happy to have you join our group. I'm impressed with you already. I would have waited for the next month to start up, you however jumped right in and set a goal. WAY TO GO !!!
-
JuJuVee we will miss you, but we wish you well. The challenge will continue so we hope to have you join us again.
-
You are off to a great start MrsNeener! I have no doubt you will reach your goal. You are more than half way. See you at the finish line.
-
I also have 5.5 ccs. I am almost there. I hope to get another .5 in the next 3 weeks. It will be difficult getting fills now. I live 45 minutes away and the facility closes at 3:00. I can't leave work until 3:30. I did not get a chance to eat today while at work. We are busy getting ready for the first day of school. Just got home and DH is grilling pork chops.
-
Thanks Willowcat. I will look for that thread. I want to get to the level of restriction where I do not want to eat much. Sometimes I eat out of habit. I want to break that cycle. Are you only able to get liquids down? How many ccs do you have in your band?
-
I need your help. There are several of you who have weight loss tickers and I've noticed you all are losing weight. What are you eating? Give me a typical day's menu. I do not have much of an appetite now that I have returned to work. I hope I see results now. I've lost inches, but would love to have the scale move in the right direction.

Good 2nd week everyone. Sparkles you should be very proud of yourself. Congratulations!
