Hi Barbill..I am peeing a lot too. My surgery was on 5/28. I'm still sore. I havn't tried to walk yet except for moving around the house so that I will not stiffen up. My shoulder pain only lasted for one day. Now I just have soreness and bloating. Have you lost any weight?

I got through the 2nd night post op. If was a much easier night. I had Sleepytime Tea and prescribed pain meds along with my heating pad right before bed. I slept most of the night. I needed more pain meds by 3:30 am. I was able to sleep on my left side last night. The gas is making its way through my body. I've lost less than 2 pounds in 2 days. I'm not discouraged by that. I know in a mtter of weeks I will see more results.

I was also banded on 5/28/09. Doctor found and repaired a hernia. Could be the reason I had a lot of discomfort. Got advice from the forum to move around and take gas-x. It seemed to help. I got enough sleep last night..I'm a lttle weak today. I hope I feel better soon. Can't drink as much as I was told. I'm not hungry or thirsty. Will rest and hope to feeling good enough to go to work on Monday. Good luck to everyone. I hope you are doing well. I'm hear to compare notes if needed.

Hi svelt2009. I did have hernia repaired. That may explained the discomfort. I am tired today, but still trying to move around a little at a time. Can't drink as much as I was told. I do not want to get weak. I will return to work Monday. I teach and next week is the last week before school is out for the summer. I am scheduled to get the first fill on 6/16/09. Hoping for the sewlling to go down before Monday. I plan to relax and try and stay hydrated.

Hi everyone, I followed the advice and started walking more around the house. My shoulder pain went away. I decided to make a cup of Celestial Seasoning Sleepytime Tea and took the prescribed pain meds along with the Gas-X. I am happy yo report I was able to get a decent amount of rest last nigt. I am ready to tackle day 2 post op.

Wow! I was not aware you could gain with the band. Thanks for informing me. Did you go back and get a fill to lose again or you decided to eat right again? It is never too late to get healthy. I wish you well.

Hi..glad you are back on track If you don't mind, I have a few questions for you. How were you able to gain weight with a band? How are you now able to lose so much? Is it all about the fills. I was just banded today.

You all are so wonderful. I have tears in my eyes and it is not form the discomfort. The tears are because the people on this forum really stand by each other. Thank you for giving me advice and encouragement. I think I would be a basket case if it weren't for you all helping to calm me.

Hi Marathonmom, I am having my banding on 5/28/09 as well. My bmi is 35. I elected to have this surgery because I was gaining weight year after year. I think it is very proactive to do something about the weight before major medical complications arise. I currently have hpb and diabeties runs in my family. Congratulations on your decision to get banded. Hope to hear from you during this journey.

Is anyone getting banded the week of 5/25/09? I am getting my band on 5/28/09. Would like to have a partner or two to help me get through the first phases of banding.

Hi Marge, I am going back to work 4 days after my band surgery. I teach school and will only have to work 4 days before we are out for the summer. When I had my counsult with the Dr., most of his staff were banded and each said they were banded on Friday and went back to work on Monday. Your doctor may give you a week or two off to heal. Ask the doctor or his staff. I would have taken more time off but I have to be there because of end of the year procedures.

Hello, My surgery is on 5/28/09. I have been reading through my booklets and preparing for the weeks after surgery. I am confused about how much to drink in the first few weeks after. I do not want to throw up because I am having too much broth or Water. I am 5'4" 201 pounds. Can someone give me any advice?:thumbup:

Hi Barbill, Did you take time from work? If so how much? I will get banded on Thursday and will return to work on Monday. I hope that is not too soon. I teach school and I would only have to endure one week before school is out for the summer. Are you drinking juices and broth only?

Hi Jackie, I will be praying for you. I know you are feeling mixed emotions from excitment to anxiousness. I have this same feelings which is why I am looking for someone to partner with that will be experiencing the same things I am at the same time. I would aslo like someone to help me with questions about things that may be a little scary the days after banding. Please email if all possilbe. Thanks to eveyone who replied. I appreciate any and all advice. I am getting a little anxious as the days go by. I have heard horror stories about throwing up days after the band. I was told I could damage the band and not heal properly if I drink too much. The responder from Katy, please stay in touch. I would like to know how you are progressing. Hello, I am soooo new to forums. I read them a lot, but never respond to any. I hope this goes through. I am having my surgery next Thursday, May 28, 2009. My current weight is 199.6. How much weight can I possibly lose in the first 21 days? I leave for vacation 3 weeks after my surgery.
