  3. Hi...I saw that you had surgery with Dr. Robaza a year ago...I just had mine with him 8-9-10...I was wondering how it was going for you....please do an update if possible...Thanks !!!

  4. Hey Vanessa. My name is Teresa and I'm a South Floridian too! I am certain I want to do the surgery, but like you, the insurance doesn't pay for it. So I'm also looking into self-pay options. I'm almost 30 and really would like to recapture my physical feeling of youthfulness. I know if I keep going, the health problems will follow. How are you since surgery?

  5. Hi Vanessa, my name's Jordan. Just looking through your pics, you looked too happy in the hospital post op, lol. I hope I am as happy as you. I get banded 6/11. I look forward to seeing your progress!

  6. Hey there....I'm looking for some friends to do this with. I have an interesting story. I had my surgery literally a year agon on may 23 2008. I had 1 fill and by then I lost 35 lb..come to find I was pregnant with baby #4...so the dr had to take out all the saline out...wah wah wah...my baby is now 3 months old..I went back as soon as she hit 6 weeks and I stopped nursing but surgeon said "no fill today" you need your gall bladder out...great..so i did that and after all this i have gained the 35lb back...i am going tomorrow for my "1st fill" and starting all over again! maybe we can keep each other company?!? only a couple people in my family know i went through this..going to get pics up this week!!

BTW my name is Cindy and I am from Chicago and just turned 32 yesterday.......wish me luck on my fill!!

  7. Keep on track hapiness...you will be on your way soon. My insuracne did NOT pay for it, I got a 2nd job for one whole year and saved up 17K and paid it cash. I had planned on using it for a new car but my health is worth more than any car will ever be, so it was painful but the best investment I ever made...money well spent if you ask me!

  8. I had my surgery Wed 5/20/09 and I feel disgusted with ever food and I am even confused as to whether or not I am hungry, lost 10lbs in 5 days...I hope I feel my band restriction and get to eat some solid foods soon!
  9. Good Luck to you.. I am so jelouse still waiting on my inc.

  10. Hello All, I had my surgery at South Miami Hospital with Dr. Rabaza on Wed, May 20th. My Pre-Op Weight was 389, and I am currently at 369, so thats a total weight loss of 20 lbs. But from my surgery date (weighing in at 379) to today (weighing in at 369) I have lost 2 lbs a day, for a total of 10lbs. I have not been eating 1,000, maybe 600-700 but I feel disgusted with all the liquids. I wake up in the morning put my ipod on and take a 20 minute walk. In the afternoon I walk my dog 20 minutes and at night around 8pm I do my last 20 minute walk for a total of 1 hour. I paid way too much for this surgery not to lose weight since my insurance wouldn't cover it. So stay focused, eat right work out and call it a day. P.S. I am drinking Zero Carb Isopure Protein shake (creamy vanilla) which has 50g of protein, Vitamin B12, BComplex, Calcium and the chewable Bariatric Advantage Multivitamin provided at my surgeons office.
