I was banded Sept. 17 and went in for the first fill end of October. Nurse did the injection but I did not feel any restriction when drinking a little water. So she put 2 more CC's up to 6. I still didn't feel any restriction, but I really didn't know what to feel. I went back 1 month Nov. 25 and gained 4 lbs. I told the Dr. I was always hungry and had no restriction, so he chewed me out for cheating and then put 1.5 cc'.s more in. He noticed that there was nothing in the band as he started. He found out that none ever got into the band, therefore I had no real restriction. He went back in and put 6 cc's in and I tried to sip so water. I could not keep it down. So he took out 1.5 cc's . I was able to get the water down. It has been 3 days and boy do I have restriction. I have been on liquids for the past couple of days and tried solids for the first time (cottage cheese). I am full after just a few bites. So this is how restriction is supposed to feel. Just beware that you physician or nurse can miss the port and you should question them each time. I know I will. I also know that now I will be getting the results from the band I expected. Although I did loose 21 lbs. from day of surgery to the 6th week mark.

4 days out of surgery and I feel great physically, following diet, but I feel like my mind is kind of slow or hazy. I teach Algebra in 8th grade so it is not to physically demanding but I do have do stay focused on lesson plan. Surgery was Thurs. and I taught this morning, but I kept losing my place. Is this normal? Did anyone else experience this? Good luck post and pre lapbanders.

I'm glad we both came out of it alive n' kickin'. At least when you are sleeping, you are healing. I went back to work (teacher) for a half day and then ran out of gas. I'm not going back till Thursday. You take care of yourself and stay strong!!!

Wondering how Loveslady is doing, since we were banded on the 17th. First 2 days were great, but today I probably did not drink enough water and felt kind of lousy. Water helped! Not hungry, but I sure would just like to lick a potato chip or piece of cheese. LOL! Hope things are going well. Just banded yesterday, 17th at 10:00 a.m. in my room and talking to family around 2:00 p.m. To my great surprise I had no gas or gas issues. No nausea. A little pain while getting up to an upright position to use the bathroom, but on a scale of 1 to 10 about a 2. I also had a hernia repaired, which talking to my nurses, this seems to be par for the course with many of the procedures. Maybe my Dr. is very conservative and choses to do these just in case, but in view of the little pain and gas I have had, I believe in Dr. Boone. Today, I was released at about 9:00 a.m. and have no pain or nauseu, and just a little gas, (not painful). I am not talking anyother pills because I have no pain, and just 1 pill 2 a day for acid reflux. I went 2 a couple of malls with my wife and granddaughter just to get exercise and prepare for my granddaughter's 3rd birthday. I also babysat her for about an hour, while the rest of the family went to get something to eat. Just broth, jello and water for the past 2 days and probably until next Wed. at my first checkup. My stomach feel full, even though I can hear it growling. But food sure smells good!!! Must be that head hunger I have been reading about. I hope this continues so well and painless as I am kind of a wimp in regards to pain (according to my wife). Good luck to the rest of you future bandsters!!!

We have the same date!!! Are you as excited and apprehensive as I am. Almost want to hypervenilate as I have never had surgery of any kind. Keep us posted as I look forward to see how we did. GodSpeed!!

I am getting banded on 9/17 and have been using the vanilla Creme from Target. I put a 1/2 cup of strawberries or 2 rings of pineapple (canned no juice" into my VITA MIX blender and have lost 27 lbs in 2 1/2 months. Delicious! I would recommend looking at the Vita Mix blender. It cost close to $500 bucks and if you had told me to spend that much for a blender, I would have said you were crazy. But it has made a big difference as I hate veggies. I stick spinach, apples, carrots, with my shakes (anything except asparagus) to get my veggies. Good luck on your great adventure!!!!

I am schedule for a late June banding. I coach high school lessons and private lessons after my teaching job. I mostly feed balls and demonstrate strokes, not much real playing. How long do I have to wait before I can start coaching again? My high school season starts early August.
