  1. I was banded on 04/20/2009. I am eating soft foods. One of the things I find disappointing now, is my food is getting cold before I finish eating. Since I am eating less than a cup of food at a meal and I am taking 30-45 minutes to eat it, I am finding my meal always gets cold before I finish and does not taste as good as it did when it was hot. Sometimes I heat the plate, this helps a little. Does this bother anyone else? How do you keep your meals warm until your finished. Ed.

    vitamins & protein

I use Solaray Vitamins. They are a powder in a gel capsule. The capsule starts to dissolve as soon as it makes contact with any liquids. I am guessing that they would be completely dissolved in less than a minute after you swallow them..

keeping food hot for the whole meal

My doctor has suggested that take 30 minutes to eat my meal. I am supposed to split my food in half. Eating the first half over 15 minutes, if I finish early, wait and then eat the last half over the remaining 15 minutes. This is to help me get used to eating my my slowly...
  4. I was banded on 4/20/09. I've lost 39 pounds since I was banded. My doctor had me on a liquid diet for the first three weeks, I lost 34 pounds during that time. and have only lost 5 pounds since I have started eating soft foods.
  5. I was taking a pill pre-op but changed to liquid post-op and couldn't stand the taste, I didn't like the chewables that much either. The other day I went looking for a new Vitamin at SuperSupplements and found a company called Solaray. They make powdered One-A-Day multi-vitamin packaged in a gel capsule that dissolves in Water. I swallow the multi-vitamin and the B-complex capsule in the morning. For me this is the perfect solution. no bad tasting liquid and no large hard pill to try and dissolve in my pouch! :-)

First solid meal was not a good experience

I am in week 4. My doctor wouldn't let me eat anything until week 3. A couple of days ago my wife made a pot roast. I cut the meet into 1 inch cubes and pulsed them in the food processor. The meat came out like finely shredded beef, it was a little chewy like beef but small enough not to cause any problems. Boy, was it good. In fact every thing taste good after three weeks of Protein shakes. :-)
