Today I went for my first fill and it turned out not so good! The Dr. tried for 45mins but could not get it. She said everything was fine but she just could not find the spot.Has this happened to anyone else. She said its hard for the first fill but Ive never heard anyone else say that. I go back tuesday so the other dr can try.

So how did your fill go??? I hope your feeling good and feeling some restriction!! Im not really feeling anything but it is my 1st fill so that could be why.

Well I went this morning and they were finally able to fill me, he said it was cause the band was so deep. I think that is a nice way of saying too much fat!!! I had to do a sit up and leg lifts at the same time, that was the worst part. I was given 2cc. I dont feel any different, will I notice something when I start eating solids again.

Thankyou everyone, is makes me feel much better that Im not the only one who had this problem. I was starting to think that I wasnt ever gonna get a fill and that the band wasnt right for me. Crzytcher: do you have a standard band or large? The PA told me that if I had a large then Id get 4cc but I have the standard so I only get 2cc.

The PA is the one who tried it so Im really hoping my surgeon can get it with out any problems. Im supposed to be gettin a fill of 2c, is that normal?

What is the fluro? Luckily it wasnt painful at all, I did get numbed twice, it felt very strange but not painfnul. When I go on tuesday and they have a hard time again then i have to go for an ultrasound.

I am so sorry you are going through this, I went through a divorce and it was hard but I knew that I deserved much better. There is one plus to this: at least you didnt waste too much time on him. He shouldnt have this much control on your life, making you sick, crying and feeling so down. Just my 2cents but if he really cared for you he would not put you through this much pain and playing games. He should be home helping you through your recovery. Good Luck and try to stay strong.

I was banded on 12/10 and for the past few days Ive been having the worst pain in my shoulder, I know that this is gas pain but shouldnt it be gone by now, its going on 5 weeks. I actually did have this pain at all in the beginning.

So I have decided to stay away from the scale for now. Im exercising more and just trying to eat as much protein and low sugar. I cant wait til my first fill Feb.12th!!!!

Is anyone else getting frustrated??? I was banded on Dec10 and im down only 10lbs. I can eat everything and anything, I thought I would some sort of restriction. I dont go for my first fill til Feb12th :smile2: I started excercising this week so Im hoping that will help but Im just getting worried that this isnt going to work for me. Anyone elso feeling like this??

your not weak, its very hard i also cheated after one week post op, however I dont think pretzels were your best option. I couldnt drink any more protein shakes and the smell was makin me want to puke so Ive been having a scrambled egg once a day and it really helps, Im just really careful to smoosh it up good and chew alot. But like gonefishin said you might want to tell your dr.

ive been wondering about the fills, do they hurt???

I think your fear is very common, Im only 1 week post op but I have lost 23lbs which includes my 2 week preop diet. If you search this site you will see many people who loose way more than 20lbs in a yr. but remember it is only a tool and you have to do the work to succeed. The way I look at it is if Im going to the extreme of surgery than Im gonna do any thing to make this tool work the best way possible.

I was banded yesterday and Im in alot of pain, I think its mostly gas, I ve been walking every 30 mins and talking mypills but nothing seems to feel better, and Im so short of breath is that normal.

Today is my day!!!! Im leaving for the hospital in 1hour, Im actually doing better than I thought, however last night was terrible, I was very nervous and second guessing myself, but I know this is what I want and I cant wait to get started. Ill post when Im able to!

Im gonna be banded on the 10th, very excited but also extremely nervous, this is my first surgery!! I started my pre-op diet yesterday, it has been very hard especially with all the leftovers from thanksgiving. Im only allowed to have 4 protein shakes and a couple snacks which applesauce, yogurt or cream of soup(fat free). I cant wait to get this started!!!!

I have my surgery on Dec,10(thurs) and I have to be back to school on monday for an exam, I hope I will be okay its just sitting so hopefully it will be.

I just found today that my date is Dec.10!!! They submitted my paperwork to my insurance on the 16th and today I got a call from my insurance company telling me I was approved and then 2hrs later my surgeons office called and scheduled me. I am very excited but also getting very nervous, its just happening very quickly(not really complaining)!!
