  1. Well in the last week or so I have been trying to push myself alittle more. Since it is starting to get nice outside, I started going for a bike ride when I get home from work at 9:45pm. I try to ride for at least 30-45 minutes depending on the endurance I have left from working all day. I have also started to do more lifting and stretching on job #2. I work at the Dollar General at night so lifting boxes and such are easy to get away with without looking like I am exercising on the job. LOL I have also started buying protein bars and cheese sticks for quick healthy snacks during the day. As far as meals are concerned...my kids get free lunches at school so I don't pack for them. I am not home at night and my husband tries to cook good foods, 75% success (LOL). I pick out the healthy stuff for lunch the next day and put everything else away or throw it away (shhh, dont tell him that!:tt1:) I could really use some quick workout ideas for break times at work. I get 2, 15 minute breaks during job #1 and 1 thirty minute break on job #2. Like I said, I get home around 9:45 at night and by then I am just soooo tired, but I still try to push myself along in doing something. A few quick meal ideas would be great too.

    frustrated! So So frustrated

I was banded on 6/25/09 and I have not lost as much weight as I thought I would! I exercise as much as I can. With 2 jobs and working 60-70 hours a week...I have to squeeze in my exercise when I can. I have had 3 fills and I am up to 6ccs in a 9cc band but with very little restriction! What am I doing wrong? Why haven't I lost more than I have?:thumbup:

    Worst fill experience!

I forgot to mention that this particular incident was recorded by my son. I had all 4 of my kids there with me because they were all interested in how the adjustments were made. My 13 year old son decided he would record the fill so that I could actually watch it too. We never expected it to be such a long video! If anyone can tell me how to post that video here or anywhere else....I will try to get it up
  4. I had my 4th fill about 2 weeks ago....OMG....it was horrible! Let me start by saying that the previous fills were easy and I had no pain associated with it, but this one was BAD>>>>REAL BAD!:scared2: My doc and I decided it was time for another fill so he had the nurse prep everything for 1 more cc. He felt around for the port and inserted the needle. You know when your doc finds the port you hear and feel it "POP" when the needle goes in. Well, he kept jabbing me without hitting the port. Finally he said he had it and drew the saline out. He then proceeded to tell me that the fluid was somewhat discolored but it should be okay and went ahead and put it back in with the 1 more cc. Now 2 weeks later my stomach feels like I have been in a boxing match! :boxing_smiley:For the last 2 days I have been hurting at the port site mostly after I eat. Has this happened to anyone else? My doc has me coming back on the 20th to do an x-ray to make sure everything is okay but I can't understand why he has me waiting so dag-on long?!?!?
  5. Okay so I have had 3 fills so far. 6ccs in a 9cc band. Its seems as if I had good restriction right after my last fill. Now, It takes more to satisfy me when I eat. Even though I chew, chew, chew when I eat I still seem to get stuck ALOT! Some foods I know I cannot eat B/C they get stuck everytime. But lately I can eat a certain food one day and not get stuck and then the next time I do get stuck! I guess I am confused about whether or not I have overeaten at some time and stretched my pouch but still get the stuck feeling at times....I dunno? HELP!
  6. Hey...just aggravate the crap out of um' until you find out. I guess I was one of the fortunate ones. I got an approval about a week after all of my appointments were complete. But even in that week, I felt just like you do. I couldn't stay off of this site. All I could do was look at everyone's pics and I became even more impatient! Hang in there...keep the phone calls goin' and don't feel bad about calling too much...it'll prob. will make you feel better! LOL
  7. Don't feel bad...I'm at work too! I probally have too much free time here at work LOL Nice to see your ticker worked!
  8. Hey Sandy! My name is Sandy too:thumbup:! I can be your buddy! I am not too far ahead of you so thats good. Any way I have had a hard time with the ticker thingy too. I was just by chance I was able to figure it out. Go to tickerfactory.com and set up your ticker...when you are done copy and paste the URL to the signature section of this page. It is under User CP around the top left corner. Like I said, I had a hard time too...Message me back if you can't get it....two heads are better that one! :smile:LOL

    Tips on fighting cravings

Stay away from the DEVIL (LOL) for one! I would recommend staying away from cookies and muffins completely. Buy yourself some sugar free stuff. Limit your carb intake to like 40-50 carbs a day. Eat valuable carbs though, like pasta. 1200 calories a day should be a good target. Make weekly menus and STICK TO IT! Sometimes things look real good on paper and when you plan, you tend to mean well for yourself. Drink more water and go ahead and cut out the sodas b/c you cannot have um after surgery anyway. Fruits are good....but....they are sweet and untill you can get the sweet craving under control, try to eat fruit in the mornings. I like peaches and cottage cheese sometimes for breakfast. Stay away from fried foods and fast food. And most importantly....EXERCISE! Walk, ride a bike, whatever floats your boat. 30-45 min a day or everyother day. I think you can reach your goal by January. Stay focused! We are here for you!!!!

BY the way---how much have you lost thus far?

    Banded Sept 21, 2009

You sound just like I did when I was in that stage! I was depressed and pissed that I could not EAT! But...I can say that without the band...I would have already given in! I know I would just be eating like I was before surgery. I think you will probally cheer up alittle when you are able to eat and you get full without eating alot. Then you can go longer on smaller amounts of food. You will see the pounds start to melt away and you will feel more successful. Just remember...you probally could not have done it without out the band or you would have instead of putting yourself through surgery!
  12. I sure hope you get answers this time.....I have the very same questions!!!!LOL:unsure:

    Plateau anyone?

I do walk some...but mostly ride my bike. I have bad knees and heel spurs to deal with, so bike riding gives me the exercise I want without the pain. I also like to ride b/c I feel like I am actually getting somewhere******LOL I joined Gold's Gym at the beginning of September and I have been going there about 3-4 times a week. I try to get my cardio on bikes and lifting on curcuit training (full body). I lift between 25-35lbs. just to tone, and I ride about 7 miles in 20-25 minutes. I try to at least stay active when I am not working out though. My Doc says If I'm not :Dancing_tongue:huffin' and puffin  I'm not burning anything!!!
  14. Amen to that....We are all here for you! Keep your chin up!

    4cc in a 10cc band

My Doc tells me liquids for the day of fill, and then mushies on the second day. The truth is, I only do liquids on the first day and eat very, very light on the second. By day three, I usually eat normally. When I feel like I am "grazing", I drink milk or eat yogurt so I know at least I'm grazing healthy!
  16. Stay focused...it is hard to do but it is all worth it. Make sure if you do eat something it IS only a few bites....keep it healthy and light!! Like yogurt or broth! Good luck! Keep your chin up!

    Plateau anyone?

I have not lost anything in about 2 weeks myself. I drink my water and get in my protiens also. Yes this can become quite depressing. My biggest struggle is not being able to "see" my weight loss. Hitting this plateau has made things worse. So, I'm right in the same boat as you. We CAN make it...hold on for the ride!

    Just NOT seeing it!!!

I have been getting alot of comments about how great I look. I enjoy the comments and they encourage me to keep on keeping on....but....when I look in the mirror I still see the 301lb woman I was just a few months ago. I can tell that my bras are bigger and some of my clothes are looser, but I can't look at myself and see any change! Do any of you have the same problem?

    Just NOT seeing it!!!

It weird how we want instant results after being banded...But our eyes can't yet see the results!

    Restriction vs getting stuck

I'm wondering the same! I get the stuck feeling ALOT!
  23. I have had 3 fills in my 9cc band. I am up to 6ccs. I have never done liquids or mushies after a fill. I just eat very little and eat "light" feeling foods.

    frustrated! So So frustrated

I have lost 32 pounds...but considering my diet has changed significantly, and I now go to the gym whereas I never did before...I just thought I would have lost more. I don't know-maybe I am just whining too much! =)
