    Liquid Stage Recipes

I'm one week post-op and wondering how I will ever get in 65 gr of protein? I started full liquids today and 1/2 shake with 20 grams of protein, lasts me for 2 meals. In between, I drink water, tea, and Isopure clear but still cannot see how I'll ever get 65 gr of protein. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  2. I was banded a week ago by Dr. Enoch and got along very well. While he was doing the band he discovered a large hiatal hernia, which he also repair and I'm thankful. He is great and very professional yet I feel comfortable with him. The only complaint I have is the wait time to see him. The last time I went I had to wait 2-1/2 hrs. I went to the reception desk & ask if there was anything wrong. She acted like it was not big deal and the norm. She said that it usually took that long for an appt with him. I asked her if I was 2-1/2 hrs late for my appt, if that would be acceptable? She did not answer. Hopefully his PA won't take that long. I would definitely recommend Dr. Enoch, even with the wait.

Apnea and will NOT use Cpap

I will look into the dental appliance since no one ever mentioned it to me. When I first started wearing mine, my husband made the trumpet of an elephant for which he later regreted and apologized. I was also self conscious but am not any longer. I just hope losing weight will stop the need for it because it still wakes me sometimes. Thanks for the advice.

Apnea and will NOT use Cpap

After my band surgery (1 week ago), early the next morning, after I had just taken off the CPAP but was still half asleep, the Dr. came into the room and asked why I was wearing it? I told him I had just taken it off and he said that I should wear it whenever I sleep because it was dangerous if I didn't! I always wear it now when I nap or sleep because of that but wonder if I'll ever be able to sleep without it?:smile2:
  5. Left shoulder pain was the first pain I felt when waking after surgery. I've also found that pain patches do help as well as sipping and not gulping and not too much at a time. I'm still on liquids and only one week post-op. Hopefully it will decrease with time.

The frozen cherry smoothie sounds great. Are the cherry skins OK to eat or do you peel them first? Thanks.
  7. Thanks for your reply but do you remember what you could eat 3-4 months after surgery? I don't want to go unprepared on the bus trip. Thanks.
  8. I'm scheduled to have surgery in a week. We're planning a week vacation on a chartered bus to Canada and Pa. Dutch Country in October. The meals, plans, etc. are all planned for us. What will I be able to eat in four months and should I take my shaker to prepare protein shakes in the room w/water?

    Surgery scheduled for 2/7/8...need advice..

What arthritis medicine do you now take? I take Arthrotec and Aleve and my doctor told me I would have to take something else because they would both irritate my stomach. I called my MD today and he said all arthritis medicines irritate the stomach. Please let me know what your tiny pill is called.
  11. My surgeon would not do the band until the gallbladder was removed first. He said there was a chance of infection from the gallbladder if the band was done first.

    Caught in a catch 22

yorkshire;1447595]Has anyone been denied by UHC and did you appeal? My claim has been submitted but I'm afraid it will be denied because my BMI has not been over 35 for 5 yrs. - only 3 yrs. I do have several comorbidities (sleep apnea, arthritis, fibroids, back & knee pain, high blood pressure, high cholestral, hypo-thyroid, etc) Does anyone have any suggestions to help with an appeal?
