J & J Swedish Bands only $ for a fill how much have you paid ?
snowflake posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have recently had a J &J band done in Aug. I have lost 14 lbs. and have stopped. I have lost nothing in the past 2 weeks I think I'm ready for a fill my Dr. decided not to apply any fill during my surgery. Stated that some people have been having problems with the fill at time of surgery. Mine hold 11 CC and I have 0... I have tried to find a Dr. in Atlanta GA I'm willing to drive to several surrounding states but I HATE to fly, and don't want tot go back to Mexico if at all possible. I can't find anyone reasonable with $ or that will follow another dr. So far best offer is $2000.00 for a life time of banding... The Dr. would probably die the day after I paid. And he is new on his own. Anyone know of better? Ga. Tenn., Ala, SC, Fl? Please help I'm A Self pay out close to 10,000.00 with everything so far. -
Hey someone named cope tried to ask me if all I was paying was 8000.00 the true answer is 7900.00 Plus 450.00 /person for two to fly down and back. I can't even begin to tell you how impressed I was with the Hotel and facility that they promised me. It was really on the up and up. Dr. Arturo Rodriguez in Monterey Mexico is who took care of me and he was quit impressive. He came to see me every day at the hosp. and hotel he took care of all taxi services and the hospitality was outstanding. The hotel was cleaner than several places I’ve stayed at in the states. I was treated very well. I’m now 8 day post operation. My bruising is almost all gone. I have 5 hole 4 are small and 1 a little large. However that is because I had an enlarged liver and they had to work around it. I would do it all over again no question asked. I have lost 14 lbs some for and my goal is 80-100 lbs. I was banded 08-19-06. I hope who was asking me finds this I was trying to find you (COPE) I’m just not that good on the computer. Sorry I hope this isn’t too late for you. I have also research Dr. Rumbart and he also was recommended well. Good Luck.

I sure am glad that you are having this conversation. I'm to be banded on Aug. 19, 2006 and I to am getting nervous. I hope that I am making the correct decision; I'm going to Dr. Auturo Rodriguez in Monterey Mexico. Self pay $8000.00 plus. I am worried that I will some how not lose the weight like everyone else. And afraid that I will still want to eat everything that is not nailed down........... Then what about the skin, I've been having nightmares about it. God be with me because my insurance won’t help in this and I'm not sure what to do if things go wrong. Have any of you felt this way? I read about how everyone has to have their head on straight and be focused on eating correctly and I wonder what is wrong with me. If I could have that kind of discipline I would be able to lose the weight without the surgery. Am I crazy?

Thanks for the support. I really do appreciate that someone understands and has been there to help hold my hand through this. My husband is a good man he is just worried that I'm making mistake by going out of the country. I'm glad to hear that Dr. Rod has some good feed back. A local friend of mine goggled him somehow and there were alot of positives about him. Thanks some much for making me feel welcome what a comforting feeling that people I dont know can be so inspiring. Good friends are always hard to find.

Hi Jean, Are you who I think you are? or are you another jean?

I found my way back, 3 hours later I guess you've gone away now? Well I'm sure you will come again. Thanks for your responce. I'm nervious as a cat about this surgery. My husband is not supportive at all and I'm worried that I may be making a mistake. Then I get all worked up again and know this is the best thing I could do. I eat constantly and graze for food in the kitchen, is it possible to eat only 1 1/2 cups of food and not starve to DEATH?
