I'm going to try some of eggface's ice cream. It should go down easy.
-
I can eat about 2 - 2 1/2 ounces of cottage cheese at a time. Still working on that. yogurt goes down easier.
-
I'm craving vegetables so much but have to concentrate on the proteins so it will be a while.

Have you tried Isopure? I heard it was awful, but if I could stomach them I'd kill two birds with one stone. I'm going to have to make a trip to GNC.

Today is my birthday. I'm 65. It's hard for me to believe that because I don't feel it. I also feel as though I've had a rebirth. This surgery is giving me a new lease on life because I'm finally on my last diet ever. I'm going to diet to lose the weight and then just eat healthily after that. The sleeve will allow me to do that because if the restriction. That is what I've needed all of my life. I see some people here who have been discouraged by spouses, family etc. because they are 'too old'. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you are 'too old' for ANYTHING in life. I have plans for at least twenty-five more years and I'm going to leave it dancing.

My son works for U.S. Customs and had a hissy fit when he heard I was going to Mexicali. I went anyway and found it to be a nice town. It is far above Tijuna. I never felt insecure. On top of that you can choose to not be out on the streets if you are uncomfortable. You get picked up at the airport and driven to the hospital for your tests. You are then driven to your hotel which is very lovely. The next morning you are picked up again and taken to the hospital where you remain for four days until you are once again driven to the airport. So, nothing to worry about.

Tomato soup sounded really good to me too, but boy the carbs...!

HELP!!!! Anyone post-op!!!

I use at least 1/3 dark coffee. It works with both vanilla and chocolate. I'm having a real aversion to sweet drinks, but I'm having to still do the shakes because a couple of bites of protein isn't going to hack it. I was drinking Atkins but have been reading about the Premier from Costco so got some yesterday. It has 30 grams of protein instead of 15. I don't like the taste as well but it was good when mixed with coffee. -

The only way I can seem to get any of the shakes in any more is to mix them with coffee so they aren't sweet. -
After eating the watermelon last night, I woke up starving. It must have been the carbs. It didn't stop me from having some more tonight. It is so refreshing.

I tried posting them here but they are too big, I'll email. -
I'll try the lemon. I'm not too surprised. I have always been a water retainer. I was actually up almost two pounds this morning. Boyis that ever frustrating. I'll have to pick up some lemons tomorrow.

So we're told that we have to drink, drink, drink. So I am drinking, drinking, drinking. BUT, not to give too much TMI Fluid in is not equaling fluid out. I'm swollen like a tick. I even ate some watermelon last night as that ususally pushes right through, but it isn't happening. Now what?

Actually in Seven Hills here we got over 10 inches. It was wacko. Trees were breaking right and left from the weight of the snow. They weren't built for snow. I'll have to post some photos. The only worry you would have in July was the runway tarmac melting.:shocked4: -
Thank you!!! I never knew the reason.

buy some Top Ramen packages. Pull out the chicken flavoring. You can get a cup of hot water. They are pretty tasty. -
I've never understood where weight goes when you sleep. You can weigh before you go to bed and when you get up in the morning you weigh 2 pounds less. Where did it go?

I take a diuretic daily due to swelling of feet, suspected to be lymphedemia. The feet don't look swollen but the skin is very tight feeling. Watermelon eaten at night usually trigger a wake up for a potty break, but nada, nothing last night. Barely a trickle every time.

Well the watermelon was a BIG mistake. It's an hour later and I'm STARVING. I haven't had any carbs in two months and I think the carbs from the watermelon triggered my hunger. Dang! I am missing the summer fruit and watermelon is so refreshing. -
You'll feel better in your own home. Take it one day at a time.

and yet ANOTHER question
Rosebud2 replied to Malaika's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not experiencing this, but how long before you go to bed do you stop eating and drinking? I thought I read somewhere you should wait 3 hrs. -
Had VSG surgery... didn't go so well...

I'm so sorry that it has been so difficult for you. I hope it gets easier soon. -
I've used goo be gone to get labels off of glasses and the like. I never thought of using it on my skin. I wear hormone patches and it leaves an adhesive residue every week. I've tried baby oil and it doesn't work. I've tried alcohol too. I guess I'll have to try goo be gone.

Will do. Remind me again tomorrow.

I need you all to put your heads together and get creative for me. The situation is that I am having guests next weekend. dinner will be involved. I will still be on mushies. They don't know about the surgery and I ain't telling. They usually expect big things from me as I am an amateur chef. Now that you know the details. What can I cook that will be good, that I can have at least some of and won't be too obvious that I'm on mushies? All suggestions will be appreciated.
