Sagging skin after weight loss
Rosebud2 replied to attitudefree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep. Don't want the flappy bat wings showing. I can hide the other with spanx and such but not the arms. I really don't want another surgery but may have to go with that eventually. -
Sagging skin after weight loss
Rosebud2 replied to attitudefree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you lose slowly your skin can sometimes keep up. No promises though. But, of course, we all want to lose fast, so probably will have some sagging. VegasAngel, tell us more about the laser surgery. I know I'm going to have batwings and you can't hide those. I'll live with the saggy boobs and maybe a bit of a panni. Good underwear can help those, but I want to wear sleeveless again some day. -

I'm not getting my Protein in. I try and try and if I get 30 g's I'm lucky. It takes hours for me to finish my Protein drinks. I thought it would be easier when I was able to eat 'real' food but I'm not being successful at that either. I can just about get 4 - 5 small forksful of chicken salad in. Last night we went out and I ordered sashimi thinking that this would do the trick. If I got two ounces in, I'd be surprised. I'm afraid to push it because of all the bad stories so when I start to feel full I quit eating. Since it takes me so long to get the shakes in, my other liquids are falling behind. I really want to be compliant with this program. I'm working hard at it. I am on the treadmill, I'm trying to eat, but I'm failing. I haven't lost an ounce in a week (in fact I am up .4). Any suggestions ?

Oh my gosh. She's there alone? That is awful. She will be in my thoughts tonight and a prayer went up for her.

Welcome. We will all get there. :lol0:

Anything comparable to Nexium MUPS?

I take Protonix too. It is slightly bigger than an 81 mg. aspirin, so pretty tiny. -
anyone have VSG with Dr. Pleatman

You are very welcome. I'm glad I was able to help. Good luck on the surgery. Keep us posted. -
Didn't love it. Still doing Atkins and Costco Premier (not as tasty but a lot more proteins) I also use the MAX protein that is in the blue containers and it is pretty good. None of those are clear though.
-
I was using the Atkins shakes before surgery and bought a bunch for after surgery. The only problem is that I am now super sensitive to sweet tastes and they taste too sweet for me. The same with Crystal Lite. I have to really dilute it. I put coffee in the Atkins or I can't drink it any more. Be careful what you stock up on presurgery you might not like it post surgery.
-
My advice - don't go to all clear liquids before surgery. You are going to be so sick of them after surgery, I can't imagine adding it before surgery. That was the worst part of the surgery - the ten days of clears afterwards. Fruit juice is HIGH in carbs. I'd rather get it in the fruit itself or some other healthy food.

I think you are still confused. This is not me, it is a post on the other forum. I just started associating Pleatman with posters there who seem to have more complications than normal. -

If I could have had this surgery 40 years ago, my life would have been so much easier. Good for you for attacking it young. -
Heck VegasAngel and I both live in Vegas. Talk about restaurant heaven! lol

My hubby only had to take a gazillion pills. No more go-litely. That is why I avoided one all of these years. I need to get one before the year is out.

Do things taste different post op?
Rosebud2 replied to attitudefree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't find being turned off by sweet things to be a BAD thing. -
That's a good analogy. I need some sweetner too or fruit.

Rosebud2 replied to attitudefree's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Things taste VERY sweet to me. Even crystal lite which I've always loved before. Now I have to over dilute them. My premixed protein shakes are too sweet too. I'm adding strong black coffee to them to cut the sweetness. In the long run, this will not be a bad thing. -
Non Scale Victory (NSV)
Rosebud2 replied to Elisabethsew's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Congratulations Elizabeth. It is great when people start to notice. I'm just now going through sizes. It just tells me how much I was pushing my largest size. -
I don't think it has much flavor. You can add a few drops of honey to get it down. I bought some pureed baby food fruit and added a little to each serving too. I also have some low sugar cherry and raspberry preserves. I added a teaspoon to it this morning and it was delicious. I'm hardly eating any carbs so I had a few to spare. It did go down easy. I'm doing the grazing thing right now. As soon as I think I can get some more Protein in I do it.

time after meals when you can drink
Rosebud2 replied to Oregondaisy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I usually need a few sips of something right after I finish eating a solid. It just makes me feel better. Not alot - just a couple of sips. -
That seems to happen to me if I take one bite too many. Sometimes I will get a pain in my back instead. I'm trying so hard to get enough protein in that I sometimes push it. It hurts. It feels as though I'm going to burp it all up. I think it is all part of the learning process.
