Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
Pixie replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi everyone, lol - like the chocoholics sign - that's me to a T! Still being a bit naughty, but at least I'm eating less of it than I was!! Went for my 1st fill with Wendy in London a couple of weeks ago, didn't hurt at all but no restriction yet. I'm not actually too bothered as have had major stress with work so being on a hardcore diet as well would have been too much. Slow and steady progress with losing weight, but what is a real change is every time I've weighed myself so far I have actually LOST SOMETHING, which is brilliant :w00t: So far, so good... -

Hi all. Please could you tell me: 1. How often you have had a fill in the first 6 months? (e.g. roughly every month, 6 weeks, 2 months etc.) or 2. The number of fills you had in the first 6 months? I'm trying to decide whether to get fills with Dr Chris or WLS. WLS 6 month package looks much cheaper, but I need to travel to get to their clinics which bumps up the price. It all depends on the number of fills I'm likely to need in 6 months. I know its different for everyone, but if a few people respond at least I can get a rough idea of what people need. Thanks  -

Hiya everyone, I'm back and feeling better after a couple of days rest. Still a bit sore but getting better each day. To those going out soon - good luck and try not to worry! Everything went as expected - the hotel is fine, the hospital is nice and everything was efficient and well organised. I took the train from the airport to the hotel, if you haven't booked a package including taxi and want a cheaper option I would recommend this. It was very easy and only cost 3 euros rather than 20 for a taxi. You get the train straight from the airport for 1 stop (Brussels Nord) then catch the train going to Antwerp for 1 stop (Vilvoorde) - it didn't take long and the station is a 5 min walk from the hotel - easy! I wouldn't recommend it on the way back if you're on your own with a heavy bag to lug about, I got a taxi back as it's easier. -

Click on the link above someone's ticker where it says 'tickerfactory.com' - this will take you to the page where you can design your own ticker. Go through the process - choose your design, input your data etc. Open a separate internet window and go to this site. Click 'user CP' (towards top of page), then 'edit signature' (in the list on the left). You can then write a signature to appear below all your posts. If you copy the code from the box under 'bbCode' from the tickerfactory site and paste it in the signature box on this site, it should put your ticker in your signature. You can preview your signature to check it looks ok before you use it. Hope this helps! -

Hi Sara, I'm so glad there's someone else from this group going out on the same day as me! Not sure it's my best idea ever, but I'm going on my own as only my boyfriend knows about it and he's working. I'm staying in the Campanile Vilvoorde the night before, are you? I've also started milk thistle, and am now off to get some arnica! -

First of all no 'vices', so no crisps, chocolate, biscuits or cake - all mine have been eaten so there's none in the house! I'm having 2 weetabix with skimmed milk for breakfast and chopped ham and salad for lunch. Dinner I've been a bit crap with though I am trying! I agree with Gary, anything with less than 5g fat in 100g is considered low fat. I've found a tomato based pasta sauce and a curry sauce that are low in fat (just check the labels - go for tomato based ones not creamy ones). If you cook lean meat (skinless chicken/ turkey breast, fish or prawns are all low fat) without adding much oil that should be ok. Add lots of veg, rice and pasta are also low in fat so no problem. You could use extra lean steak mince (I think that's about 5% fat) and drain any fat off before you add the sauce. Fish (poach or grill it) with veg, salad, rice. Can't think of anything else for now, but if I find any good ones will let you know. -

Hi Carriejess, you mention needles and specialist water. Does this mean you can do your own fills? -

Not feeling too bad cos it doesn't feel real yet. I know I'll be terrified when the time gets closer. Been reading through the thread for advice today, have to remind myself to be realistic about this. Sometimes I think the op will be the hard bit and the weight will just melt away afterwards - ffs! :blushing: I'm trying to expect the worst (usually works for me) and be prepared for a long hard slog afterwards. I'm sure it will be a battle convincing my head about the right amount to eat and dealing with 'head hunger'. -

Hi Penny, I made a start on my low fat diet last week (easing myself into it!), my 2 weeks start after this weekend. Finding breakfast and lunch easy, but dinner harder as I prefer Atkins (low carb) to low fat diet. :blushing: Will be making a real effort though if it makes the op safer. Is anyone else going out on the 22nd June for an op on the 23rd? -

Hi all, I've been following this thread for a while now and wanted to thank you for all the info you've posted - it's so useful. I finally took the plunge and sent my details to Dr Chris yesterday, asking about waiting list times. Bridget just phoned me and said the next available date may be 23rd June - I'm a bit freaked out as I wasn't expecting it to be so soon! Wasn't planning on telling anyone really, but I haven't even told my boyfriend that I want it done yet! :scared2: Wondered if any of you could help out with some questions? 1. How have people reacted when you told them? 2. Do you need someone to come with you? Would I be able to manage if I went on my own? 3. Roughly how long until you feel ok again (I'm going to a festival 3 weeks after 23rd June, rather not be feeling ropey for that!) 4. Can you drink after? I know pints are a no no, I drink vodka tonic, will I be able to manage those? Thanks
