hi again everyone hope you are all doing well? anyway reason i am posting today is to pass on a little tip for all pre op bandsters to be....re a video diary on youtube. a young lady called miss flump on you tube has uploaded her video diary of the whole process from arriving at the campinale hotel,in the hospital to after the surgery. Its a brilliant video and gives a great insight into what you can expect especially if like me you are a bit apprehensive re the whole thing:rolleyes: anyway would say go and check it out very very good! also Garry if you read this can you tell me if its a mixed ward or are us blokes shut away in the airing cupboard to be seen and not heard??:eek::sad: thanks all

Hi everyone and thanks Garry for answering more of my list of questions:rolleyes: and hi to Homecare and devonpilgrim looks like we will be going through the process together on the same day,cant come quick enough for me! can anyone give me an insight into vilvoorde , anything to do if arrive early flight? how far is it from the centre of brussels for sight seeing? ....does the tv in the hotel have a dvd player?? any good tips re what to bring for in the hotel re drinks,snacks etc also re the time difference on the flights when it sais you get in at say 0945 or 1445 dependent on dep times is that their time or do you have to add another hour onto arrival time??? cheers again p.s when is this party with Garry everyone keeps mentioning....i too am a voddie drinker:tongue_smilie::rolleyes2:

Hi bandsters hope its working for you all! well confirmation from Frederik to go ahead and book my flight as i am being banded on the 26th June so not long to go:eek:,be flying from edinburgh to Brussels i think BMI? Does anyone know how many seats you get together on a BMI flight 2 or three? I also asked Frederik if there is any other information they will need or i should know outwith paying the deposit min two weeks before surgery, but so far no reply. i have started taking milk thistle this week daily too,but saying that i used to use it anyway before and after a good drinking sesh! i have also filled in online an application for the EHIC for NHS treatment abroad just incase,dont really know if this would cover me or not?? so all i need now is travel insurance so any of you bandsters out there have a link or name to any you used?:wub: Also going to pay my deposit next week seemingly it will cost me £20 for the bank to do it for me is that the best or only way? i have also been thinking about the fills and possibly using WLS 6 month deal only problem for me is its in Glasgow so more difficult to get too from perthshire,saying that do they do fills for you more frequent if you want/need them ie every two weeks instead of say four? And how soon after surgery can you actually have a fill done i have read on here some had it done at 4,5 or 6 weeks? also how does Dr Chris decide what size of band to give you? sorry guys for all the questions but trying to cover all bases the noo!:scared2: thanks in advance A:wink:

Hi again all you banders! well looks like i will be going ahead with the surgery as got a date for late June from Frederik! now i have to pay the deposit of 470euros into their bank account so does anyone have good advice re the easiest and best way to get the cash to themdo you just go into your local bank with the euros and ask them to wire it into their account?? cheers

thanks again Garry had carried out some research re the flights just wanted to know if i was on the right track and not missed out any special airline deals etc?? great info there from you helps with the piece of mind hearing it from folk that have been and done it much appreciated. Sent an email with the Hotel address on it but doesnt actually show the room etc Garry or any banded folk who have used it got an insight into what its like?? also got a email back from Frederick and he said that any problems during the op my insurance would cover it??is their not a form you can fill in for nhs treatment abroad that would cover a patient if anything went wrong.....E1???? or something?? anyone out their got an answer to the insurance cover question and the NHS letter stuff would be much appreciated? heads buzzing with all the questions etc i need to ask but heading in the right direction i think...lol! cheers all

Hi Andy here....cheers Garry for the reply and i have loads o questions! im from a village in the perthshire area so edinburgh would suit me fine and easier to get to than Glasgow etc. what sort of prices were you able to get your flights for(were they direct) and who did you actually fly with? were you told of any more difficulties/problems with the op and aftercare because you are male? re the operation i sent an email today asking what happens if you DO need to go to intensive care,blood tranfusion etc is their insurance you take out to cover that? is it as they say you can have the fills carried out in Edinburgh too and how much do they cost? cheers A

FAO Garrymcfall! hi you can possibly help me with a question or two i was needing answered mate? i am hoping to get banded in june or july just waiting on confirmation,where did you find was best(cheapest) to fly from in scotland? so you can still drink alcohol after the band is inserted?? cheers and well done so far!

hi all!! new to this site found it whilst searching for information re Dr Chris De Bruyne as i am awaiting a reply from himself or his assistant called "Frederick" re Band Surgery? I was contacted by a lady called Tullia Law who i presume is the UK agent for Dr Chris but was totally put off when she mentioned paying all the cash upfront. I would much prefer booking with him myself and paying most of the fee once in Brussels and when i have actually spoken to him. Any information or tips on dealing with Dr Chris the actual surgery, hotel and travelling is very very much appreciated!! also to add any info from men who have had it done would also be very useful from my own point of view. phew.. thanks
