hi again everyone hope your all doing well:thumbup: anyway im trying to get a list ready highlighting all the things i should take with me to for the surgery pre/post op and also for using in the hotel afterwards?? im sure someone on the sight did have this posted re what they were taking and thought this was a great list but i cant find it now!!! does anyone know if they did do the list or who actually posted it and even possibly when as that would help me having to go through each and every page on here?? many thanks:wink2: p.s homecare..... i sent frederik my flight details when he emailed me that he had received the deposit couple of weeks ago, however not heard anything since? i think i will ask him to confirm everything again via email a few days before i fly out, especially for more info re the consultation time, taxis, timings etc just to give me better piece of mind!

yes there is flirty...........why just you and why is it not being restricted more quickly? put how unhappy you are on here because i will tell you now if i am treated like this re after care i wont be taking it quietly or be palmed off!!ill pay my money and take it from there but people need to know that the aftercare is sound and we are still treated properly and not like a money cow!! im just sorry this has not been mentioned b4 ie not acceptable! good luck anyway flirty keep me posted im away in less than four weeks?

Hi flirty been reading your info and u are brilliant answering everyone elses posts especially when you have had it so difficult yourself! however must admit reading the last few i feel a bit angry re the way you have been treated with still no restriciton in the band? "you can get the next one half price" how many is that you have actually had? if i were you ....u should be telling them not happy sort it or you will take things further.....this shows to me if aftercare etc doesnt go as ecfs hopes you are treated badly and possibly ripped off:frown:?? bit worried now as it shows outwith the norm they really dont care as to pay for so many fills is a joke! what do other bandsters think?

thanks...gill,wishful,sammy and anyone else re the hotel much appreciated! i wasnt too bothered about it myself but whilst we are in the hospital etc day and half i want the family to at least be comfortable and have decent food. i think we will bring a small dvd player as my youngster luvs to watch cartoons etc so will keep him amused for a wee while anyway. might even venture into brussels for a couple of hours at some point if im up to it?

hi all and well done to the new bandsters! i was looking up the actual hotel in vilvoorde on tripadvisor and there seems to be some bad reviews about it so a bit worried as will have my partner and young son with me?? therefore the best thing is to get reviews from all the folk on here that have actually stayed in the hotel wether they be good or bad?? ie rooms cleanliness etc whats the Breakfast like is it worth 10euros? is the restaurant food satisfactory and how is it priced? any other little tips would be much appreciated:thumbup: less than 4 weeks to go and counting!

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

hi Tanyac that would be brilliant if you could do that for me as i can bring an actual dvd player with scart lead or the portable dvd with inbuilt screen to watch films if no scart socket at back?? .......and all the best for your op and journey! odgmodge thanks re the european adaptor info where can i get hold of them and will i need more than one say for dvd player and two phone chargers? thanks

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

yeh i know how you feel homecare, just the same a bit apprehensive re the actual surgery/aftercare as we are not covered if anything were to go wrong? but if i could i would actually do it sooner as for me i then know the major risk part is done im back home so take it from there!

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

hi Homecare, you seem to be very well organised? what rate did you get for exchanging your money into euros from crown currency?and how does it actually work ie getting the money to them and visa versa? i have sent my deposit on tues (still no reply from Frederik yet) also booked my flights and decided on the earlier flight at 0700hrs getting in to belgium 0945hrs as the other flight had gone up in price.(i take it the flight lasts an 1 x hour 45 mins?) i think from reading on here it should be possible to check into the hotel a good bit earlier if they have enough rooms? can anyone tell me what this "Anica" is and what its for re bruises and where i can get it from? thanks homecare and bandsters:rolleyes:

Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris

thanks for all the replies everyone very much appreciated, and basically what i thought the answers would be hi homecare i think im going for the 1210 flight as the other flight is way too early in the morning for setting out with checking in etc, my partner is probably coming too! what time is actual check in and is it using the automatic desks as never did that before?? also Frederik said that check in at the hotel is normally 1600hrs so should get in for perfect time all going to plan?? re the flights i really want to leave it for a wee bit yet (week or so) until partner can def sort out time off but worried that the plane might be full???does anyone know if this sort of flight is usually full or generally has space left nearer to flight time? homecare... i emailed Frederik this morning asking him to acknowledge that ECFS have received my deposit asap, the bank seem to think they should receive it by tomorrow.got exchange rate of 1.08 euros to the pound for it but cost 20 quid to do it!! wonder if there is anywhere to get a better rate when changing currency for the remaining payment, especially as it is approx 3600 euros!

hi all you bandsters you are definately a cheery bunch brought a smile or two to my face reading some of your posts!:Banane33: well deposit paid today to ECFS and Frederik, will do the flights tonight i think? spoke to my GP today and being honest not very helpful at all, asked if i could receive any aftercare re dietician and nhs possibly paying for fills? answer was NO they wont pay for fills but they could possibly set up a dietician and that was basically it,told me answers to everything i had already thought about and researched re the surgery and aftercare but more negative than anything!:Banane01: said he woudnt even be able to tell me if for eg the wounds were infected and i came in to see him???"they should have the answers to all that with "their" aftercare was the reply! anyway not letting his attitude put me off so once again i have another question to put out there and see if anyone can help me? re travel insurance is there any out there that will actually cover you for the trip for the usual things eg lost cases etc even though we are going for surgery abroad?? many thanks and also thanks to Garry and others for answering my never ending questions mate!:purplebananna:
