Confused... which band should I get, LapBand or Relize?
bellyfatgone commented on lisaluvsgreys's blog entry in Blog 81834
Which one did you decide on? I decided on the realize at the last minute. -
Did you have heart burn too?
-
I called and I'm going to the Dr. in the morning. They did say that heartburn is NOT normal. It is constant and I'm a little nervous as to what they will say.:smile2:
-
I do have the pains in the left shoulder, but I also have continuous heartburn. I ended up calling my dr. to see if this was normal and they said it is not & that I should come in. I have an appointment in the morning. Will let you know what they say.:smile2:

I accidently posted this on "The other" forum but wanted it here... I've been banded for 8 days now and still have tons of gas pains/heartburn in my chest and shoulder. I've been walking and moving around a lot (I have 3 little ones to chase). Still on liquids only and I also take about 6-7 gas X a day. Has anyone else had it this long? Is this normal?

Did you already get a fill? Great job on the weight loss. I'm still on the liquid phase.
-
I haven't done that...maybe I'll check it out.

Welcome Amber....Hope you find this site as helpful as I have!

I had to start protien immediately after surgery. In fact, the meal(broth, jello & juice) before I left the hospital was all mixed with protein in it. I'm supposed to get 50grams of protein a day and at least 64 fl. Oz of liquids including broths, soups, puddings etc.

That's great to hear you're doing so good. Just make sure not to over do it. I was feeling great until today (4 days out). I'm suddenly VERY hungry and weak. I've measured everything to make sure I'm getting enough, but am still so ready for the mushy faze. How many calories is everyone else getting on the full liquids?

Happy New Year!!! May we all enjoy our bodies this next year.

I think it is confusing because there are two different december threads.... December delights and december bandsters.
-
I was banded monday and stopped taking pain meds yesterday. I've also been trying to walk often and keep up with the normal household chores in hopes to get rid of the gas pains.
-
I wonder how they decide how many incisions to do. Does anyone know that?
-
I know a lot of people have recommended unjury. I haven't tried it yet, but I think I'm going to give it a try. Probably the unflavored or the chicken broth flavor.
-
How is it supposed to look? I didn't get any info on that.
-
muscle milk premade strawberry was good. I only drink half at a time since it is full of calories and protein.
-
Yes, it is normal. I was concerned too since I had left chest, shoulder, arm and neck tightness and pressure. The dr. said it was in fact gas pain. It soon changed to occasional little painful gas bubbles going up thru my chest and exploding into my shoulder. Man do they hurt! Not sure how long this will last, but I'm hoping they end soon. Movement is supposed to help, but it hasn't helped me yet.
-
I didn't, but I've heard of people getting anestesia headaches. My neck was real sore for the first day and the nurses told me it's because of the way they have to bend my neck all the way back to get the trache tube in. I'm suprised I didn't get a headache since I have such a sensitive neck! Hope it goes away soon.

Mine looked like a balloon b4 the surgery and still does.

I got home yesterday and that is when my gas pains in the chest, shoulder and arm started. Everytime I eat the pain gets worse. I'm waiting for a big burp to get this out of me. I'm also having a hard time getting in 64 oz. of Fluid because of this, but am trying hard. My incision pains are minimal thankfully. My nurses and myself were amazed that I only had two incisions. Yeah! I hope everyone is recovering well.

Lisa, Good luck to you too. I always get cold in the hospital so that's why I'm bringing mine (and so my rear end doesn't hang out when I go to the bathroom! hehe). I'm looking forward to spending the night...it's like a glamorized hotel with all those attending to my every need. It will be nice having someone take care of me for a night. Even though I know they will be waking me up often to get vitals. Anyway, good luck and we'll have to keep each other updated.

Dr. Halmi or Dr. Tran/Virginia Weight Loss Surgery Center
bellyfatgone replied to Summer87's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Chris, I'm getting banded by Dr.Tran on monday. How was your experience? Any complications? Was Tran personable? Just wondering since I really haven't seen or heard a lot about him online.
