Any words of support from someone afraid of "cheating"?
adorablentx2 commented on che4u's blog entry in Blog 66881
With the band he is going to get restriction, and if he over does it he is going to get that why did I do that feel which really sucks. However I have heard people on here who talk about not exercising and losing a lot of weight I guess it just depends on the person. I know for me I dont have a real sweet tooth either but I didnt do portion control either, and that has been my downfall all my life. I think it could be a good choice especially with you guys doing it together so you can make each other accountable. Oh yeah and we all have a cheat day here or there but we dont over do it. I have had cookies before, I even tried a soda. The cookies were good but the soda was a bad idea so I have learned from that mistake and have found other alternatives when I want something with a little flavor other than water. I dont know if this has been helpful but I hope it helps. LAter, B. -
Hey everybody just wanted to stop by and check on you guys. I have a question I have been feeling these bubbles in my stomache. I had a piece of fried chicken without the skin, and a couple of potatoe wedges, for some reason after I ate I got like this bubbling feeling, and I dont know what it is? I have never felt it before and was wondering if any of you may know. I just hope that I haven't damaged my band. Also does anybody know about doing crunches? I want to extend my workout to doing any ab workout because I'm starting to feel jiggly in the lower ab area, but I'm a little nervous about my band so if anybody has an answer for a sister help please. Thanks guys. LAter, B.

Have you started exercising yet? As long as your sticking with smaller portions and getting in your essential, like the water and protein then you should be okay. For us banders I think that exercise is a most especially for us who have not had a fill. It will allow you to maintain and get into a routine until you can find that sweet spot everybody talks about. For myself I was stuck at 258 for a month but I havent had a fill and I was banded in Feb. However I wasnt getting the protein I needed and the instance I did the two pounds I was trying to loss fell off somewhere between eating and exercising. I think as long as you take your time and remember how to eat and exercise you will be fine, but dont become complacent with your eating though. Wish you luck, and I hope it helps!! -
I want to be successful........ I just don't seem to get it...

I agree wiht May Kay Lady... the band is a tool and its up to us to make it work. I thought that I could just relax and lose but it was a BIG mistake. I looked at my eating habits, not the best and exercise was no exsistant. Once I evaluated what I was not doing and what I should have been doing it changed. I havent had a fill since my surgery which was in Feb but its because I work overseas. I have been taking in more food and know I cant get a fill so I drink more water, I try to stay away from the things that got here and over indulging. When your band sends that full feeling to your head stop eating then. Take whatever it is and dump it in the trash so its out of sight and mind. You may still be hungry but give yourself to be full and after words drink some water it will keep you full and going to the bathroom. Exercise is crucial for sure if you dont exercise start out slow and work towards a personal goal but dont make your goal unrealistic make it attainable also give your self a date and if you fall off then work that much harder to get it. I wanted to lose two pounds that was erking me forever. I hadnt lost anything for almost a month and couldn't figure it out, comes to find out I wasnt eating enough as soon as I ate the two pounds fell off. I would just say push yourself and make an effort to try something new. You are not alone in this and your progress isnt measured by me or anybody else but by what you set out to do. If you want we can challenge each other. I used to play sports and since I gained this weight I run out of breath so quick. I have been doing step aerobics I dont want to but I know what I want to achieve so i am going to stick with it until I am succesful. I hope everything works out, and that things turn around for you and those numbers on the scale as well. Later, B. -

Congradulations on your date. What I would say is enjoy the foods you like in moderation, however what i would say also is start practicing how your going to eat when you become banded. Its a learning experince thats going to take practice so while you have the time, try it out. Try sipping your water or whatever beverage you choose, instead of the normal gulps. Other than that enjoy yourself and congrats again!! Later, B. -
And the Wisdom to Know the Difference

Hey lady glad to hear things are going well with you so what is the weight lost looking like. Where are you from as a matter of fact? If I'm close where you are we can do that mile togeter. I dont know though cause I swear that my legs are like surper heavy when I tried to run on a treadmil. I guess I need to make running a whole mile one of my goals. I know the feeling with the bathrobe. I have never been one to do the whole bathrobe thing so a beach towel was good enough for me to not have to worry about getting a towel around my body. Anyhow just wanted to come by and see how your journey is going hit me up when you have a chance. Later, B.

I wouldnt say become a hermit, but to accept things as they are. You've had an excuse of being fat to excuse from doing anything to progress. However you have to change your mind set and if your thinking about having this surgery than you've already started. We are far worst to ourselves than what we realize because we see what we assume everybody else see's and we carry that and hold that. "God grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change courage to accept the things that I can and the wisdom to know the difference" I have that prayer as a tat on my body. I have it there because I work with soldiers here in Iraq and I become friends with them and I know some of them will not becoming back and that is my prayer for there families, but it is also my prayer for myself and my challenge with my weight. No matter how successful we are in this weight thing people are going to look at us and say what they want to but you do not have accept and you dont have to wear that burden of the title that they give you. Lose your weight and feel good about you and know that you are doing this for your life and that nothing that they say is going to hinder you from saving your own life. Hope the prayer works for you and I will send up a prayer for you as well.. Be good to yourself for once its a new day. Good Luck, B.

If you put everything you have into this as you have the other diets you will succeed!! With this failure is not an option if you do the work it will pay off. Thos lady said someting about still eating whatever she wanted and still losing. Everybody is different but the reason for me doing this is to learn portion control, keep a steady work out plan and be healthy. The band will let you know when your over doing it and that feeling sucks but with all things it (the bad feeling) will pass, but its what you do after that, that will make you or break you. If you learn from it and build your success around what you have learned you have nothing to do but become a big old LOSER..lol... I have come to think of being a LOSER one of the greatest accomplishments of my life. My scars are noticeable and a consider them a reminder of what I have done to myself to get here and how I'm going to change that. On those days when I dont feel like working out or eating something bad I look at my battle wounds and there it is hop your butt on some exercise equipment and get it done, and I feel so much better after words. I hope that you are successful and that you become a loser. Oh yeah and on those days or weeks when you havent lost anything and you feeling discouraged be happy that you havent gained. I have learned that this process is a long one and we are not always going to be losing because we have this tool but to keep up the fight and its going to come. Take or yourself and be good to YOU! LAter, B.

Sugar free jello, popcicles anything is good. It is a nice change from the broths. I know its not recommened but I am doing slim fast and it actually helps. It keeps me full and not wanting to snack either. I think we all have those days were we just want to eat something and savor it but we cant control the savor part so we just eat everything is site. Food is an addiction from the smells, to the taste but that is what got most of us here. With your restrictions and when your able to eat normal food you will see the difference. I didnt realize how much I was eating until I got one of my favorite foods from a resturant. Normally I would clean the plate..lol.. but now I have enough food to fill up two doggie bags so I see where my mistake was. This whole process is a learning one and the band will surely be the judge. I think the band is the best solution for WLS if you dont work out with it you are not going to get the results as if you had one of those other surgeries. So you are forced to be aware of what your eating and in return you learn portion control as well as good habits. I would say just reflect on where you've been how you got there and what it has gotten you. I know your a strong person if you werent you wouldnt have gotten the surgery so keep trucking and stay motivated... LAter, B.

Yeah I agree with the other two ladies I wont have my first fill until about 4 months out but thats because of my job. I was banded in Feb but it wasnt until about two or three weeks that I have been able to eat more food so now I'm really watching what I eat. Try to drink water when you feel hungry so it knocks some of the edge off until you get a fill it really does help. Good luck and keep believing. LAter, B.

That is amazing I havent had a fill yet its been a couple of months, but i hope when I do get my first fill I have the sucess you have had. I think for now without having a fill I'm doing pretty good but do think my fill will help me out since I have kept a regular work out regimen. Anyhow congrats again and keep kicking those pounds in the butt :-) -
