Does it hurt to get a fill?

It feels like it does when you have your blood drawn. I get my fills done under floro but I don't look. I usually put my hands over my eyes that way I don't panic about he size of the needle. It helps me. My doctor had gotten it on the first try (thank god)

ok I corrected my mistake (soup not soap)

    Road Trip

Well it depends on what you can eat. I can eat salads so McDonald's grilled chicken bacon ranch or cescar salad is really good. For breakfast what about a Protein shake or slim fast For Snacks fruit or Jello For lunch grilled chicken sandwich without the bread or salad. Wendy's have chilli Don't forget Soups also or mash potatoes It's a lot things to get you have to make the right choices with foods you can eat. I only eat a piece of bread. No a hole sandwich or biscuit. I have to protect my 15000.00 investments

Self-payers, how long did the process take

When you are self pay, you don't have to wait as long. Physicians love self pay patients. They know they are getting there money up front and they put you in the next available date they have. As long as your medical problems are not too severe
  8. I would say you just need to limit the sweets. Because you love them as I do you will have to take a firm hold of this addiction. Monitor how many times a week you eat something sweet. Try to limit it to once a week and then just have half the the sweet item. Continue to excerise and that will help burn that half of cake that you may have eaten. I know it is hard because I am struggling myself especially with Halloweeen here. A Recap 1. Something sweet once a week 2. Half the portion 3. Continue to exercise See how that does

    needing some advise

I think you should have some fluid taken out. You have given it 25 days and you are unable to eat solid protein. Maybe take out .2 - .3 cc and see how it works. Also make sure the chicken is not too dry. And call your physician and see what he thinks. But remember the band wasn't made so that you could eat soft food all the time

    slipped bands experiences

Tutuclvr I am so sorry for your experience but I glad everything is better. Thank God you have such good after care in the US. Sounds like you have a very good doctor for after care. You know because this surgery is new in the US (since 2001 or sometime around there) everyone has not seen everything that could possiblity happen. It is up to us to be observe what is going on and notify the MD as soon as possible and to stay on the MD if he is not that worried.

    I'm a bad bandster-a badster!

I think you need counseling. A fill won't make it better. It will just make you sick because you will still try to eat everything you did pre-band. You have to decide if you want to lose weight before anything will help. The band won't help you unless you help the band with healthy food choices.
  12. I think you should tell them you need time off for surgery. And tell them its a personal matter and would rather not talk about the details (although they may think you have cancer). You may need more than the weekend off after surgery. Some can go back to work after a couple of days but not everyone. If you have to life a child or anything above 10lbs then that will be a problems. I am 3 weeks out and I still don't lift my 45lbs 4 y/o yet. But do tell them you are having surgery and put it in a way as not to say too much about what type of surgery it is. I am still in the closet and only 3 people know about it. Not even my best friends know about it. I am just not ready to disclose that information and am not sure if I will ever be able to disclose that type of information. This is a personal matter and war I am trying to fight

Are you saying that these doctors will fill patients who had surgery in Mexico?

    Post-Op Pain Question

Yes this is normal. Continue to take your pain medication. Put a ice pack on the port site. Also if you are trying to sleep on your side and it hurts then don't and sleep up right. My port site was really sore and I am still trying to sleep on my sides (left or right). I have found that this surgery affects everyone different. As long as your inicisions don't look infected (hot to touch, swelling with drainage) they are doing okay.
  15. I had my gallbladder out before banding. I thought it was a piece of cake compared to banding. I did take a week off and enjoyed myself. I was thinking this is how housewives must feel. I had my surgery on a Friday and took the next week off. I took the baby to daycare everyday and lounge around the house until it was time to pick her up.
