Thanks everyone. After a night of sleeping on it I am just gonna wait and see what happens with the September 6, 2006 date. I can't eat much anyway when I go to Las Vegas for this certain event because I am too nervous. As long as I can get water and protein down I should be ok. If the September 6, 2006 date doesn't happen then I will believe that this surgery is not meant to be. At least not now.

Can you guys please tell me how long after surgery did you fly (airline trip)? My surgery has been postpone (twice) until September 6, 2006 and I have a trip planned to Las Vegas for 4 days at the end of September and I was in the process of planning a trip to Australia for 1 week in October. My surgery was supposed to be August 07, 2006. I don't want to go out of town or overseas and then get sick. I don't know what to do. Should I cancel surgery until November 2006 or should I keep my September 6 date??? My boyfriend says cancel until November. Australia is a once in a lifetime thing. I may never get back there again

This is a roller coaster ride for sure. The surgeron office called again. The surgery is off until September 6 2006. He is very ill. Is this gonna ever happen. Maybe this is a sign that this surgery is not meant to be or not me....... 2 cancelled surgeries in less than a week. :faint:

I hope so because if not he is booked until August 28. I want to go to Las Vegas fully healed and able to eat something

Why what is the problem?

My surgery date was August 7, 2006 but now it is cancelled.:cry I got a call this morning at 11am stating the doctor was not feeling well. They are gonna try to reschedule my surgery but they don't know when. Maybe August 10 or 11, or maybe August 28, 2006. I am so disappointed. I finally came to turns with the surgery and now this. I am self pay so I have paid the surgeron and just this morning I went and got the cashier's check for the surgery center. Now no surgery date. I have a $9200.00 cashier's check made out to the surgery center and I don't even no when or if I will get to have the surgery. I made all the arrangements for work and now this. I am on call 24 hours a day Monday thur Friday and every 3rd weekend so this has really messed my schedule up. I don't know if I will be able to find some to cover for me because they may have vacations planned. I am also on schedule to be on call the Labor Day Weekend :cry . I will have to wait until Monday to find out when they will be able to do surgery. I know they couldn't help this but I just had everything in place for next week. Plus I have travel plans to Las Vegas on September 28, 2006 and I was hoping to be healed and eating by then:mad:

Vicoden is not given through the IV it is only po. It must have been Morphine, Demerol, or Dilaudid or something else. Maybe you are allergic to Morphine also. I will call and see what it was so you will know for the next time. In medicine you never know what you are allergic to until you take it

My was told to drink something warm the first thing of every morning to help with spasm. Try this and see how it goes. A protein shake is better than junk food. It will help with the hunger

You know eating out too much is not healthy. You are maintaining now. Try exericising more, making better food choices, and drinking more water. Are you doing your protein shakes???

I would start trying to conceive. You have a lifetime to lose weight. You are banded and it will always be there. While you try to conceive you can continue to lose weight then when you conceived (hopefully not more then 2) just try to stay at the 25 - 30 lb weight gain. It will be easiler to lose after giving birth. You have done good for 1 year and I know you will continue to do well pregnancy or not

It's one week before I am to be banded. August 7, 2006. I am a little scared. I just returned from Walmart shopping. I was getting things I will need for next week. I just found out that my preschooler will be at home with me for 2 days of next week. The school is closing getting for school to start on August 14. Now I will have a preschooler to chase after of while I am recuperating. I will be doing last meals all this week. I don't have a preop diet to do either. I have to pay the surgeon on August 1, 2006. Now that is something I am not looking forward to. Who else is getting banded August 7

Baylor Mom welcome to the site. You will find very good information on this site. Just do go the complication site too much I find it very scary at times. For the back pain try walking and a heating pad. For the port site pain try an ice pack. See how this works Congratulations on your new life. I live in Arlington TX. I am being banded August 07, 2006. I was wondering if I will be able to eat cornbread dressing during the holidays. It made out of a bread product

Grill Chicken breast can be pretty dry if it is cooked too long. Try tenderizing the chicken breast with a meat tenderizer before you cook (grill) and don't cook it too long. Chicken strips grilled are not as dry. I always eat boneless, skinless chicken thighs which are wonderful and not too dry....... But I am not banded yet so I don't know how this will work with the band. I will find out in September.....

I just want to be able to eat some traditional holiday food. My Mom cook so much food you have to decide what you are gonna it today and what you will have the next day.

Just think of the weight you will be losing while on the liquid diet. Or just think of it as a semi fast for how ever many days you have to be on it. My sister and her church goes on a liquid fast for the 21st days of the year. She lose like 10 - 15lbs.... what a way to start the year

No doctor will do it at the same time. Too much to consider ie complications
