    Work Stress

OH No !! Try to relax before you do yourself in !!!! Work can be hard at times dealing with everything thrown at you or people and moods you have to deal with, I understand. At least if you are stress eating try to make it something healthy (I know "healthy" isn't a stress reliever), but no guilt after. Try to take a deep breath, maybe count all the inches lost or hoping to loose before you eat anything!! Good luck and we are here if you need to rant a little more.
  2. Ok...so I had my first case of sliming and PB'ing today..Now I understand! It scared the bejessssssus out of me. The liquid diet I was on for 14 days seems pretty good now if I don't have to look forward to that again!! I had a small cup of tomato Soup and 1-1/2 slices of deli roasted turkey. I thought I chewed everything to mush but I think one piece may have gotten down larger then it should have. I didn't see any large pieces during this episode but I don't know what else would have caused it. Any ideas?

    mushy stage

I started my vitamins when I went on the mushie stage. I am not good at taking them because sometimes they make me feel a little funky. I do my best but usually wind up skipping a day here and there.

    Sliming & PB'ing....

Thanks RM-I guess I didn't think about soup being a liquid! lol...I must have had a serious senior moment at that point because I don't drink anything 30 before/30 after. I will be more careful from now on. I may have take a bite that was too large. I was pre-occupied while I was eating my lunch today and that put everything out of whack.

    caffeine

RM...I used to have the never ending tea cup and it never stimulated my appetite either! It's sad that everything else made my hungry however, the rain, wind, sun...lol or I wouldn't be the size I am now! I never heard that it can dehydrate you, and when I drank 10 cups a day I still needed a water pill ...have you heard of that?

    caffeine

Hi Jacks Dad! My Dr said 2 cups a day is ok. More then that and you start to dehydrate.

    Blood Pressure

Congratulations! I am hoping for the same thing soon. I was on 5 meds a day to control it now I am only on 2. I figure all the money I am saving in Co-pays will soon be spent on my new wardrobe when I lose more weight!! lol
  10. I was banded 6/25/09, I had one fill - 3 cc's last week ( Dr put in 4 cc's but kept bubbling up in my throat so he removed 1 cc). Most of the time I measure out my 1/2 cup portion so I know I am eating the correct amount, unless I am in a resturant, but I never get that full feeling. My Nut said to listen to "my body" when I am full stop eating even if my portion isn't finished. I have yet to get that feeling where I have had enough. I am usually satisfied and can go 3 to 4 hrs in between meals, but some days I am hungry. Before my surgery I could eat incredibile amounts of food before I got that stuff to the point of not breathing feeling! Then 1/2 hour later I was in the fridge looking for something again. This worries me now because I don't want to start overeating again.

    Tha full feeling.......

I agree that 1/2 cup isn't enough. I will email my Nut, but I think I am going to keep my protein at 1/2 cup but add 1 or 2 ozs of something else along with it. I don't want to get so hunrgy that I fail at this. I've worked to hard to get past the liquid and mushie stage!

    I need relief!

When I had my first fill I had to sit in the room and drink water to see if it was ok. The DR was sitting next to me and he could hear it bubbling back up so he removed 1 CC and everything was ok. I don't know of much you can do at this point. Maybe trying to take a small spoonful of water at a time to see if it goes down. Good luck!

    Tha full feeling.......

Hi Jodi, Right now I am eating (3) 1/2 cup meals a day. Plus a 2 oz. afternoon snack if I need one. I usually stick to alternating tuna, egg salad, chichen, ground beef, and any white flaky fish as my Protein. I will add a few whole wheat crackers with the tuna, egg or chicken salad. Or a veggie or cottage cheese with the grilled chicken or ground beef. String cheese, SF Jello, or a few triscuit crackers with a dab of Peanut Butter is my snack when I need it. At some point I wll go to 6 oz per meal and then to 1 cup, the 1 cup portion will be for life. I am not sure when the increase of food will happen, but I am down 27 lbs in 6 weeks so at least I am losing !
  14. My Nut said I need some carbs in my diet to help keep my energy level and alertness up. She didn't give me a specific amount that I remember, but told me to make smart choices with them. Since our portions are smaller she wasn't to concerned that I would over do it because I always eat my Protein first and that is the main part of my meal. Other than carbs in fruits and veggies I have only had 1/2 whole wheat english muffin or a few Triscuit crackers. Way to scared yet to try Pasta or rice but I'm sure the day will come. I was advised to have rice/pasta as a treat and not an everyday item, and to make sure it is overcooked. If it isn't overcooked it continues to absorb after eaten and swells in the stomach.

    Update

Glad to hear you are feeling better! Keep that stool softener handy, you might need it again. Hang in there! Hugs, G'ma
  16. I am almost 5 weeks post-op, soft soild food stage and right now am suffering with constipation really bad! This is new for me but over the last week it has gotten worse. I have been taking MiraLax for the last 3 or 4 days and no relief. Any suggestions?? ...and does this eventually stop?
  17. My procedure took about 45 minutes once it was underway. I was operated on at 10:30am and I was home by 3:30 pm. :wink2:
  18. Amy26111...Congratulations to you too! I can't wait to be there, but I just started my journey so I have a while to go! I saw my cardiologist yesterday and he was pretty impressed,, I've lost 27 lbs in 6 weeks! Made him smile!

Approved for Solids at 1 week post op

Wow lucky you! I was on liquids for 2+ weeks, then mushies for 3 weeks. I am 6 weeks post op and just started solids this week! Just be careful, you don't want your stomach having to work itself to hard breaking food down.
  21. Hi Erin! Hope you are doing ok. Are you on Clear liquids or full liquids? I could't have anything you can't see through for 12 days. Then I went on full liquids, which is anything you can pour, for another week so the drinkable yogurts were ok at that point. I haven't been on line in a few days how did your surgery go?
  22. Wow Lipstix....that's a new one! I never heard of it. I have a Vitamin Shoppe close by where I live, I will look into that one. Thanks
  23. Thanks Fixn2!- I have been taking Mira-Lax and Colace. My Dr suggested these too. So far so good after the first incident! Whew..that one was tough!! I thought we were going to have to send little people with pick axs in there to help me out ! lol
  24. Thanks for the info. I had my first fill Monday 8/3. I'm doing ok but last night about 1 hr after dinner I was looking for something! I didn't care what it was, my stomach was rumbling. I had 1 cracker with a little peanut butter and that did the trick for the rest of the night.
