Has anyone considered tummy tuck before goal?
soocalchic replied to jlray's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a tummy tuck long ago before i even had children now that i'm going to be loosing about 80 lbs i just know im going to need a revision. Revisions from what i have heard are a little more riskier. Just because there is a whole lot of scar tissue and blood supply isnt as good. If i were you i would just buy a good girdle and wait until your weight stablizes. Your skin might shrink a little give it some time. Here is the type of girdle thats my favorite its the classic from lipoexpress.com check them out a little pricy but theyre bullet proof.. i love it.. It gives you a great silouette when you're wearing them its a temp fix until you're to goal. -

How soon until you could feel your port?
soocalchic replied to mems's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you probrably didnt do anything to it. Keep in mind that you have a foreign object in you now and it might take a little getting used to. -
eat more calorie dense foods like proteins first and then your veg and starch last this will keep you satiated longer and as always no drinking when you eat. Nothing is wrong with you You just went from not being able to eat to getiing some food in you. Might seem like you are eating too much but i bet thats not the case.

Banded 9/2..feeling good, but have a slight fever..???
soocalchic replied to jaredsdad's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
call your doctor they might want to put you on a broad spectrum antibiotic as a preventative measure to infection since you are running a low grade fever.. -
I love the name my daughters name is Dakotah and I have a niece whos name is Mckenzie hope all is well with your little bundle of joy

call your nutricionist and tell them what you are going though they will give you different ideas. It's not a good idea to advance your diet it will just do you harm.

Any good scar remedies?
soocalchic replied to Taylertot's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
neosporin is great while you are healing and time will fade them. They look pretty angry and red in the begining. Just dont expose them to the sun. Fresh scars turn brown when they get sun exposure -

Hey girlie we are all foodies here thats what has gotten us in trouble lol.. a slider food is a food that doesnt stay in your pouch for long so it doesnt keep you satisfied or full. Oh yeah and very nice to meet you too.. -
Hi!! Im Carlene i Don't know where to start
soocalchic replied to BandMeHardAndFast's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hey Carlene so you are really interested in getting banded.. We live close I live in Downey I havent been banded yet but looking forward to it. Now i read your profile and i have got to tell you that if you want to make the band work for you. You have to put in work and be willing to put the peanut butter cups down. Seriously its easy to eat those high calorie slider foods that will go down easy. I'm sure you will hear it the lap band is just a tool you still have to make good food choices. Lurke around here some more, you will find a ton of info.. But to answer your questions the band is cheaper in TJ but if you have insurance it can be covered if you meet the requirements. -
"stuck" feeling in throat
soocalchic replied to MissK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
have you been drinking enough water? maybe your a little dehydrated.. -
I had my upper GI done yesterday and i must say it wasnt that bad. Drinking down that yummy flavored barium wasnt as bad as i though it was going to be. It was funny really the doctor gave me 2 little cups one with the little gas fizzy pellets and one with some liquid. I joked with him are these "SHOTS" he giggled and said drink up. after that went down they had me stand in front of the flouroscope and drink down the barium he said just chug this down as fast as you can. So I did. they tilted the bed and had me lay down. Now this is were it gets strange the doc had me lay on my side and he grabbed a hold of my hip and rocked me back and forth to get the barium to coat all my tummy. OMG i couldnt stop laughing. It was like the tickel button had been pushed i apologized for the laughter but i just couldnt stop. I finally stoped giggling and they took some more shots while i was positioned on my sides. They also asked me to bear on down while i held my breath this was not terrible either. It was all done and over in about 15 mins start to finish.
