I so understand eating with others can be so difficult at times. Just remember to take small sips at first No gulps and when it is time for food small bites and wait a few minutes between bites. I even use a smaller plate so it looks like more. I am almost at my year on June 29 and I feel and look GREAT. I went from a womens size 24 plus to a size 10 now that is amazing to me. All I can say is I have done the best I could and tried to follow all the band rules and it has paid off big time. I really think the hardest for me was NOT drinking with my meals. Oh and I still want to drink soda but I choose not too today. Best wishes to you. imaluckydog

You are in recovery mode. Body does crazy stuff just after surgery. I recommend to stay off the scale if you can? It will not be your friend in the beginning. It took me almost 2 weeks to feel better after my surgery. Then 15 days after my surgery I was running around Disney World with my daughter. The energy will come back soon. Take it slow and yes pain is real during the first few weeks. Take the time to heal and follow all band rules. The hardest for me was NOT drinking during a meal time and I still want a soda today but I choose NOT to drink them. In one year I went from a size 24 plus to a size 10. OMG I am one year on June 29. Wow does the time fly by. Best wishes on your journey and blogging your thoughts is so helpful. imaluckydog

Best wishes to you on your journey. I am coming up to my year Bandversary on June 29. It is very excited and my body and life have changed so much in one year. I went to J. Crew and I am now a size 10 in shorts. I am down from a size 24 plus catalogs. I could never have bought anything from that store 1 year ago. Miracles do happen and dreams do come true. Just follow all the Band rules. Blogging is so good for me as I keep my paws out of the cookie jar. I also read and learn so much for others as well. Best wishes again and keep blogging. imaluckydog

Well the UNFILL has happened to ME!!!Never thought it would!
imaluckydog commented on janetsjourneytoslim's blog entry in Blog 75574
I had to have two Un fills in the course of two weeks!! I also beat myself up about it. But Boy did I feel better and free to eat more without all the side effects you mentioned. I think it is all about getting our bodies to the sweet spot and a change is so good. I was somewhat loose for about four weeks and I went back for an adjustment. I feel tighter again and I am having some gurgling. I still may be too tight. I am going to see if I can manage until my year is up on June 29 I go back for my Bandversary check. You have done so well. Best wishes imaluckydog -
I had to have my surgery at 4 pm late in the day as well. I got a good nights sleep is all I remember. It will be over before you know it. Best wishes imaluckydog

Best wishes and just look at how far you have come. I am Happy for you. I was too tight and needed an un fill I actually got two un fills and I felt like I was on a vacation from my band. I went to Dr. yesterday and got a small fill and I am hoping it will help. It is all about finding that sweet spot. Best wishes imaluckydog

Just keep following the rules. Your body does not like the changes and it is telling you. Keep doing all you can do to eat well and say active. You will go to sleep and wake up weighing less. Your body needs to adjust to these changes. You may not feel restriction for maybe 3 or four fills. It does take time be patient. The weight will fall off if you follow the band rules. If you have questions just ask. Best wishes I am coming up to my one year date and I have lost 97 pounds and it is staying OFF. I have been at same weight for about 2 months now and I am sooooo Happy. imaluckydog

I hear the strength, your strength. I also need to keep focused. I have not been trying as hard as I should and you said a lot of what I have been thinking about myself lately. My schedule has changed and many distractions at home with a house full of college kids and their friends coming and going. The food is every where!! I feel my head is spinning around. I do need to focus on me again and play better with my band. It is up to me and me alone. Thanks for sharing it was so helpful to me today to read your blog. Best wishes imaluckydog

Yes, daily communication is so important. Be it reading or blogging. When I write it down I lose. When I eat small I get small. Look at what you are eating are you following all the rules? Old habits are hard to change. LB is a tool if worked with can provide joy and happiness. Good Luck on getting back on track. You just took a side trip so WELCOME ABOARD. Best wishes. imaluckydog

Be honest and tell them you can only eat liquids before 2pm. Be honest that you PB after eating an egg. Be honest with yourself you may need to get an un-fill. Honestly, You may be too tight. I have been there and you do not lose if that is what is happening to you. I had a little removed twice and I have never been happier in my life. Be honest and work with your band. Best wishes imaluckydog

Very exciting! Enjoy your journey. Best wishes and Keep blogging it helps with the nerves. I blog almost everyday and I have been banded 54 weeks and counting. Love my band and all the wonderful things that have happened to me along the way of my LB journey. imaluckydog

Love your picture by the way. That girl at the registrar gave you a form of discrimination if I ever heard of a restaurant not letting you eat food because of a medical issue. OMG, She clearly is uneducated. It is sad we have to carry a card. I agree, I am glad you spoke up and mentioned it to the manager. Restaurants are killing people with the unhealthy food that the serve. I get frustrated when I am at a restaurant and I do not get a drink of any kind and I get asked 15 times in the course of a meal if I would like a drink. Hey, What part of No Thank you do you NOT understand anyway?????? The NO or The Thank You LOL It really does get annoying. I love my band. Best wishes imaluckydog

Best wishes on your journey. Mine has been amazing. I am now 46 weeks. I have lost a small person in weight and wear a size 12P I think I wore that size in elementary school. LOL It has been the best decision I have ever made for myself. I feel great and I look smart in all my new clothes. I used to wear a 24 plus on a good day. Best wishes imaluckydog

50 days post-op - 63 lbs - one fill
imaluckydog commented on Will_B_Healthy's blog entry in Blog 88434
Thank you I start my day reading these blogs and you just made my day!!! You are the MOST non-selfish person I know!!!! You took time to share and help others here. You took charge of your life and you alone are making this happen. I was banded 46 weeks ago, where does the time go? I too have lost almost an entire person. I chose good healthy foods and I do not take part with the food pushers in my life today. To me they are like drug dealers as food was my drug. Now coffee is my only drug of choice only in the morning. I seem to say to people who want to know more and ask me questions I say, "I always wanted to be small so now I eat small, I am smaller, and feel great." It sorta shuts them up because they know if they ate less they would also lose too!! Keep it simple. LOL Best wishes imaluckydog -
Keep hydrated the worst is getting dehydrated not a good thing. Yes, pain is part of the program with LB. It took me almost two weeks before I felt better, I had a ton of pain. I could not get comfortable in any position. Be kind to yourself and take the time you need to heal. It has almost been a year for me now so I have been there. If you can walk it will help with the gas and get it moving. The Dr. puts a lot of air in your body and not all of it has a way out so it gets trapped. Keep moving and walk as much as you are able. Drink your liquids slowly. Be patient. If you have real concerns call your DR. ASAP. Best wishes imaluckydog

Be careful with crackers at night. Maybe drink a half glass of milk the protein is what will help stop the hunger. Best wishes imaluckydog

Yes, I think the meeting place is odd as well. It sure would give you strength, Just to know you can walk into a place that may have been a trigger and leave all the food for everyone else. That food will NOT make you feel good at all. I had just a little bit of it yesterday and I can tell you first hand they cook with way to much salt and sugar for our needs I felt sick all day and I only had 5 bites. Support groups are excellent. I highly recommend them. Best wishes imaluckydog

I am almost at my one year mark and I am glad I took the time to heal at the beginning. I needed almost two weeks of rest before I was feeling myself. I had a lot of bloating and pain from incisions. Walking helps. Keep well and follow all the rules. What a GIFT is RIGHT!!! I LOVE MY BAND. I cannot believe how fast a year can go by. Best wishes imaluckydog

I do not know why people say this? Maybe it is the average? I have lost 97 pounds in 11 months thats about what I needed to lose. When I lose three more pounds I will be at my desired weight. These last three pounds for me have been the hardest. I have been at same weight since February. Up and down maybe two pounds. Working with my band. I am happy and wear a size 12p down from a size 24 plus so I have absolutely NO complaints I LOVE MY LB. imaluckydog

Yes, I have, it is wonderful thing. It is not about the food any more. I had to keep reminding myself to eat because I got so busy with life. I had to Keep to a schedule or get light headed. I did find that if I ate any sugar I would get hungry. I am trying to keep away from sugar and other trigger foods. My head still can do a number on me. ( head hunger) I love not feeling hungry all the time. Best wishes imaluckydog

I had this!!! I stayed tight like too tight for too long ended up with acid reflux. Now everyone is different. Just watch for signs of fluid coming up when you are prone. I would go to bed and I was up in a few minutes with heart burn and acid sickness. That lasted all night so I could not sleep. That is not good. Getting an adjustment will help, I had two of them to get me where I am today. I am a little loose now and learning how to eat properly. Old habits die hard. Best wishes I love playing with my band. imaluckydog
