Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
homecare replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Thanks bigsister Iam going to take the package out and going to see wendy on the 11th of August. Just feel a bit left out of the recovery stage as I said before everyone else managed to eat some solids even before they were meant to and had no problems. I was so glad when Gillian told me she also had the horrible burning port pain for 8 weeks and advised to wear big knickers I felt I wasnt alone with this problem and it was great advice, but nobody seems to have this problem of not eating solids at my stage. Anyway enough waffling I will just grin and bear it until I see wendy. Cheers. Jx -

Thanks anitahug. I want to eat small portions of solid foods as the mushy goes down too easy and before I know it Im hungry again and its all too easy to gain the weight we have lost. I feel solid food would make me full for longer but Im taking the advice of everyone on here and Im also going to try and eat even slower. Thanks Jx -

Thanks beeboo. The problem is I am quite hungry and I did follow DrCDB advice 10days liquids and 2weeks mushies but its almost 4 weeks mushies and what Im worrying about is its easy to eat soft food goes down too easy but the more solid food keeps you fuller for longer. Believe me Im not trying to rush it but everyone else seems to be able to eat NORMAL food at this stage. Jx:mad2: -

I have been sick again today only ate a small piece of haddock in breadcrumbs done in the oven. First pain and tightness then sick. Im a bit worried as I am due to pay for my fill package and at this rate I can only eat mushies. I know people say it will slacken off but its 5 weeks come friday since Ive been banded and still have a problem with solid foods. Any Ideas? -

Hi Mandy I too have posted and had no answers but I dont take no for an answer so ask again and again until someone answers. We are all going through the same journey and like life we learn through the more experienced. Try to stay on the forum as one day youll be one of the experienced and the newbies will need your advice. Dont know who asked about big knicker club but I didnt notice any difference with restriction. Flirty what a girl I know you are impatient to show off the new you and I would be to. But get yourself better and before you know it youll be strutting your stuff. Gary Ill be thinking of you this week and hope its just a small malfunction fingers crossed. Jx -

Fat duck I seem to have opposite problem. I went to bbq yesterday ate 1 bite of sausage, 1 bite of hamburger and a piece of pasta I was in agony and was sick twice it took about 45 minutes to come up before I got some relief. Strange thing is I made myself eat a sausage on a krackerbread today and it went down ok. My bands got a mind of its own. Jx:sleep: -

~Freckles its a lot of work running to visit in a hospital everyday I do hope your mum picks up as up to now she seems like a true fighter. Gary is it this week you see CDB I do hope he can solve the problem. Was it his colleague in Glasgow who did your last fill? Fatduck youve done really well so far wont be long until your fill. Big sis Edinburgh is great and if you go again for longer you have to come through to Glasgow where the shopping clubs and resturants are fantastic. Jx -

Hi everyone what a lovely day it was yesterday so was invited to a bbq. I put a lot of thought into what i put on my plate ie 1 hamburger ,cous cous, sausage, pasta salad. After eating a bite of hamburger, sausage and pasta salad, I mean 3 mouthfulls I was in agony. I was Pbing but just saliva and then I was sick twice but not very much food came up as I hadn't eaten much but it was a relief from the pain! I seem to be able to eat softer foods ie on Friday I had WW spaghetti bologneise. I think I should try and eat more solid foods but Im scared of the pain and I haven't even had my first fill which is due on the 11th of August. Any advice Jx -

Hi Gillian well done on your 3 stone off its great when you know its not going back on again. I am proud to be a member of your big knicker club:tt1: but Im sure it wont be long until your discarding your big knickers for a little thong. I cant believe you sat round the pool with jeans you poor thing. I have stopped wearing bikinis but I still wore a cossie I would have fainted with the heat if I couldn't have had a dip in the pool. Sooo glad flirtys ok isnt she brave. -

Hi TIN you may laugh at the knickers but they are a godsend I only hope you have a spare pair handy incase you need them:tongue2:. lol. Im not weighing myself until Friday as thats the day I started so not sure how much Ive lost in total but reckon around 19or 20lb I hope. I feel a bit hungrier now and it gets harder to stay good but Im not sraying off this after all Ive put myself through so roll on first fill and then on the journey to restriction. Welcome to all the new bandsters to be your on the right road. Wellcome Starsky, my sister is thinking of having it done in September, she just has to wait until next week to see if her finaces work out. Gillian I took your advice about corset, big knickers, and I dug out a pair of M&S waist reducers its really helped. THANK YOU. Although the look on my hubbys face when he saw them was like sour milk. Lol. They are right up to under my bust but they are really supporting port area. Jx -

Hi Tin I have heard that rice once your banded can cause very bad wind. Im sure Dr Chris told us this he also said no pasta rice white bread as it aggravates the stomach. I tried pasta on Friday and I felt as if I was taking a heart attack, never again, well not for a while anyway. Jx -

Thanks Gillian I know exactly what you mean when you say a corset would help as Im going about holding and pushing in my side. So glad Im not a total freak with this band as their is still a lot of solid foods I cant eat yet Im still eating mostly mush and its almost a month after Ive been banded. Any way Ive got one of those thick elastic belts and Ive put that on and its eased it a little although I wont win any fashion prizes. Thanks again for the reassurance Jx:tongue_smilie: -

Good morning everyone. Has anyone experienced the return of burning, nippy like feeling like just after getting band. I had the return of this yesterday and its back with a vengence. I could hardly put my knickers on this morning because even when I bend slightly BAM ! the pain shoots right through me on my port site. The only way I can describe it is like someone puting a red hot poker into my side, I also have slight stitch back. I had to take pain killer and I have a really high pain threshold. ANYONE have any Ideas. Jx -

TIN I still take the arnica and the multi vits and the milk thistle. I know usually Im a very quick healer. My scars on my stomach have healed really well and 2 of them have all but disappeared the rest is like a fine red thread. Hope you are doing fine and wont be long until the first fill. I have to remind myself to phone and pay for package on the 30th of this month. Jx -

I am able to eat a bit more varied food but no bread, pasta or egg. I feel more comfortable still eating mushies and things like cauliflower cheese which I chew forever before swallowing. When I was out on Friday I was a bit embarrased ordering the kids meal but was so glad I did as I didnt even eat half of it, dont know if this was because I was full or I had taken so long to chew it was cold. Today my port side is like a red hot poker and is really sore. Im sure I havent done anything but it feels just like it did straight after operation, and if I bend down wow the burning pain is intense. Dont bl**dy know whats going on. This is one long learning curve. My sister and partner are really interested in the band now and I think they may be going over in September to have it done. Good luck to anyone going to be banded this week. ps Glad to hear about your mum Freckles and glad flirty is doing well. Jx:scared2: -

Hi Gary really sorry to hear this you of all people dont deserve this. I really hope its only the naughty band playing up. There doesnt seem to be a right and wrong for any of these bands. By the way Ive been telling my brother in law about you and have shown him some posts. I think hes now decided to have the band done, so you shouldnt have to pay anything as I think CDB owes you in comission. Keep motivated Gary you have the determination and willpower to do this. Jx -

Im so confused went to a resturant tonight had kids chicken with potato and peas and yorkshire pud. Could only eat half of it but so glad I managed to eat my first solid food for 22 days. Does anyone have the same. I dont understand this band as I havent even had my first fill yet but can only eat either really mushy or very very slowly when the rest of my food is cold and give up. Well done enjoying the exercise and the drink. How are you doing eating wise as you probably know I cant get by the mushy stage yet. What are you able to eat now is it anything or does the band affect what you intake. Jx -

Hi fatduck this is what Im talking about when I say I cant eat anything that is mushed up. I am a bit fed up eating only mushy food so thought I would try a small amount of pasta with tiny pieces of chicken in a white sauce and boy was I sorry, I was in pure agony and felt as if I was being strangled around the chest. I am eating slowly and chewing lots but it is still happening. I thought I would be able to at least eat some normal foods although a smaller portion but the most solid thing I can eat is fish or cottage pie. Anyone any ideas Im 22 days post op and wondering if I will ever be able to eat anything in solid form again. Jx
