Hi debby is this at the port site on the left hand side. If it is I suffered from a severe pain and burning feeling as if I had torn something, this lasted for about six weeks. I also maybe over did it the first week after op. This is where the big support knickers come in. Gillian on this site advised me to buy big corset type knickers which come high up the waist, I took this advice and it really helped ease the pain and support the wound until fully healed. Some people dont get this at all but I really suffered with it. Hope your ok. Jx -

Hi fatpants when I went on holiday to Florida the band did tighten for the first 4 days and then slackened off so I agree with you about not having a defil. Be prepared for the first few days and you should be fine. Have a great time. How much have you lost now? Jx:tongue2: -

Ah Gillian its so nice to hear from you. I miss you and bigsis's comments on here. You always gave me good advice. Right now I think I am at my sweet spot even though Ive only had 2 fills. I can eat 3 crackers with a topping for breakfast, cup a soup for lunch and a tiny meal for tea ie 1/3 of a side plate full. Freckles reckons Im at my sweet spot. The confusing thing is I feel full in my chest area and not my tummy so I have to trick my brain into thinking Ive had more to eat than Ive had. If I dont do that I go for that last bite and boy do I pay for it. Still I know this is a learning curve and Im getting better at it. Soooo nice to hear from you again, please check in more reguarly. After having a fill a week past tuesday, my second, Ive felt like Ive got restriction. I was able to eat one 1/3 of a normal portion. However yesterday I could hardly get anything down not even mashed potato. The band has a b***dy mind of its own. When I think back I was on the phone to my friend while I was eating and may not have been concentrating and something got stuck so since then to sore to eat anything. Well it keeps us on our toes. Is everyone on holiday? jx -

Well almost a week after my second fill 4.5 mils in my band. I think Im almost there. Today I had 3 cracker bread and dairylea cheese for breakfast, cup of soup and 2 crackerbread with egg mayo for lunch, and this evening I had 1/3 of a potato and chicken pie for one. I dont know if I should be eating less than this or not but this is what the band allows. If I ate more protien ie meats Im sure it would be less but right now Im trying to trick my brain into thinking Im full like my band does my tummy. Jx -

Thats great news about the clothes freckles but bad news for your purse!!!! having to buy new clothes but still I suppose your going to get loads for your forthcoming trip. I know I should be grateful but Im a bit worried incase it wears off. No one really explains what your supposed to feel when getting near or having restriction. It is definately not a feeling of fullness as pre band, its more a feeling of discomfort and me saying to myself, "enough Im stretching this band". At the moment if I eat one mouthfull over what I should Im in pain and sometimes have hiccups. I have to learn when to stop. Wendy from WLS did say she thought I was nearly there and says I may just need a small fill next time. I have to say this is only my second day on mushies after the fill so will make up my mind when eating solid food.:rolleyes2:Jx -

I understand what your saying Freckles and MMM but its only my second fill so not expecting restriction yet. I had mash potato and corned beef tonight ate around a side plate portion and was quite full. My problem is knowing when to stop I didnt stop until I took hiccups. Its a different sensation to being full it just seems like you have to stop eating now even though the brain is saying Im still hungry. Weird. Sorry for rambling but trying to get my head round this. Oliver dog I have told my sister and her partner you are going out and getting banded same day as her and although she is a computer phobic she asked me to say hi and also to look out for her and her partner in the hotel. Shes so glad there is someone on here going out the same day as her. I think she has put on another half a stone as she is really into THIS MIGHT BE THE LAST TIME I EVER EAT THIS and is having so many last meals before her low fat diet you would think she was going to the electric chair!!!!! I decided to go and hang out my washing thinking the arm movement would shift it but I ended up pbing small amount of soup any advice and is this normal bandsters? Jx -

Ivesy im sorry to hear of your discomfort. I got banded the end of june and was finding it difficult to eat most things but was ok drinking fluids. I was in pain on my port side and was amazed at what other people were managing to eat in comparison. I kept trying every day even though it was painful and after 5 weeks things began to turn. I really think I was a slow healer and was still very swollen inside. Please dont feel alone I dont know who you are having your fills done with but Wendy from Wls is an expert in her field and maybe you could talk to her. She has a 24 hour emergency phone line it maybe worth a try. Good luck Jx:sad: -

Yes TIN I only lost a few pounds as well this month but cant complain as on holiday etc. I must make appt for next month. Wendy also took out fluid and tried to show me but I got phobia about needles so wouldnt prise my hands off my eyes. She said she could feel some resistance and reckons Im not far away from my sweet spot Ye Hay! I hope to get there maybe next time. I also will be very good this month and I must do better. Im sure Flirty who had no restriction at all used to stay on the liquid diet for a few weeks at a time. What willpower! Anyway what time is your appoointment next month. Jx:biggrin: -

Just back from having a fill with the lovely Wendy. Thats me now got 4.5ml in, dont know if I have any restriction but Wendy reckons I should defo notice a difference. I also brought up the already discussed topic of any mishaps happening with fills from WLS and Wendy assured me that providing it was her fault (incidentally she has had no mishaps in over 10 years of doing fills), she is insured for 11 million pounds. She would send the unfortunate person to have their band checked under xray an have it repaired or replaced at no cost to the patient. I have no qualms having my fills done with WLS and Wendy is really fantastic at her job. I hope this eases new bandsters minds in choosing who to have their fills with. I think they provide good value for money and she really is an expert in her field. TIN how much did you get put in today and how are you feeling? Jx -
