Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
homecare replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi Oliver dog your not going to believe this but P has came out with an allergic reaction to her patches as well. She is considering taking leaving them off all together as they are very red all round the patches. She says to say Hi and hopes your doing well as you had to go back to work so early. Jx -

Hi there its only been a couple of weeks since your op and you are supposed to wait at least 4weeks before getting a fill as you are still healing inside and can do damage by getting a fill too early, wls dont even like doing them unless your 6 weeks post op. Beleive me there is good reason for this. I know your anxious to start having some restriction but remember this is not a race and over time you will see and feel a difference. Good luck Jx:smile2: -

Hi Oliverdog, it is a personal choice and I can only advise you on my experience. I chose wls because they have a clinic in Glasgow and many people had been singing Wendys praises. When I went to her clinic I spoke of my concerns ie something accidental happening to the band. She allayed my fears as she is insured for many millions of pounds and should anything happen through her fault ( which it never has) she would personally pay for the fault to be repaired or replaced at no cost to her patients. She used to work for uk based surgeons and has over 10years experience of doing fills more than some surgeons. She treats everyone individually and if you need any help there is a 24 hour emergency line and also some support network. She always gets my port first time and the fill is over and done with before you know it. I couldnt reccommend her enough. Last time I checked the package for 6 months was £350 but I know sometimes they have special offers and it comes in around £280. Jx:thumbup: -

Sister and partner home safe and sound she is a little sore around the port area and quite heavy bruising on her arms ie drips etc. You would think her partner had been for a holiday, no side effects whatsoever but I think he is trying to prove a point that we women are defo the weaker sex. He says he was fit enough to go to work this morning but sis wouldnt let him as she needed his help. Im sure I defo have restriction now as I am only able to eat tiny amounts ie breakfast 3/4 of a weetabix, lunch 1 scrambled egg, dinner nothing as yet as I am really not hungry. I am in a bit of a dilemma as I have been invited to a dinner party on Satuarday and because of my small appetite I do not know what Im going to do. I really want to go but I dont want to offend very old friends and their will only be six of us so cant camoflage what I havent eaten thats if I can manage to eat any of it depending on what it is. Any Ideas anybody. Jx:blushing: -

Hi TIN sooo glad your back on track and like I said earlier any set backs used to send me straight to the fridge, but now I cant eat the way I used to so have to do something else to release stress. I have been cleaning like mad, pulling out wadrobes and decluttering all over the house I find this keeps my mind off food and is also good exercise. I have only one sister and I had to tell her about the op because we work together and she would have found out. She wasnt so keen on me going to Belgium to have it done and not telling any of the family. But when I sung the hospital's praises and so far have had no major problems (touch wood) she became more interested. Also after failing miserably over the summer to diet was the final straw. So she and her partner are being banded this morning. I must add she hasnt told any of the family either just me. Tell J and wee J I was asking for them, and if J decides to go for it will that be another family Trip? Ive lost 2 3/4 lbs this week so well pleased. Im sure Im at restriction now and I love this band. Jx:tongue_smilie: -

Bobo as I said earlier 7 stone is amazing, bet your partner thinks shes got herself a new man. I was really pleased with the weight loss this month and have started noticing some of my size 14s are fitting me much better. I thrown out and given to charity most of my 16s. Jx -

Hi TIN what do yo mean 4lbs not great, thats 48lbs in a year which is around 31/2 stone. In my opinion any weight Im losing is good as before I had the band I couldnt get my mind focused at all and if I did, along came a problem which made me lose focus and I would eat comfort food again. With this band, ok you may be able to eat some wrong things, but on the whole it stops this and even on a bad month your still losing. I got 0.75 put in and Wendy wasnt too sure as to maybe taking 0.25 out as she defo thinks thats it, so sat by me when I drank the water and it went down fine. She says if I have any probs being too tight to phone her and even offered to phone me next week, isnt she good. Jx:w00t: -

Hi there I had a couple of drinks at my sons graduation 1 week after being banded and it was fine as I drank them both slowly and they lasted me the whole night with a couple of glasses of water inbetween and no hangover in the morning. Jx:cursing: ps what I said in the above post about eating more slowly and smaller bites really concentrating on what your eating may help you. -

Hi Mandy I also kept getting food stuck and soon realised I was taking to big a bite and when it came to chewing I couldnt chew it in to fine pieces as too much in my mouth. I really have to be aware when Im eating and concentrate on chewing well and small bites. I have found I can still get caught out if Im in conversation and forget for a sec. Are you due a fill anytime soon. How much have you lost up to now. Jx -

Hi bobo shame your in the morning I have to get fills pm as I cant get away from work before 1pm. I was surprised to find I had restriction after the last fill but it only lasted until last Thursday. Dont get me wrong I cant eat anything but the quantity has got larger over the last few days and Im feeling hungry whereas the first 2 and a half weeks after my fill I was really full after each small meal. Dont know whats going on. Gary reckons this is what happens when your near your sweet spot. Have you any experience of this? jx -
