I appreciate the advice mmm and I will keep an eye on it. Its not really too bad at night but I did have it only once last night so it is calming down. If it continues I would defo see someone but for now its not causing too much distress or discomfort. thanks Jx

Hi Sue I was at 5.75ml until Tuesday when Wendy put in a further 0.75 taking me to 6.5. I am still on liquids but the difference is tremendous. I did find I had heartburn on the first night after fill, last night I had reflux problems and slept sitting up but today it seems to have calmed down a lot. I bought gaviscon and it helped slightly but it was a shock as I have never had heartburn or acid relflux in my life before and I was feeling pretty miserable. As I have said its calmed down a lot today and hopefully as GAry says it will slacken off slightly in around two weeks. jx

Hi all havent been on for a wee while hope everyones doing fine. Gary and Bobo your doing great. Im glad flirty brought up the drain noise question, I went for my 6th fill yesterday and got another 0.75 ml put in and since then the noises thats coming from me is embarrassing its like my tummy rumbling in my chest and throat and is extremely loud. Fingers crossed this is it!! I lost 2lbs over christmas and new year not great but last year I would have gained 1/2 a stone over the holidays. Time is now I hope you got on ok yesterday and everything is now well. All the people going for their op soon I wish you the very best of luck. Jx

Hi everyone one a belated happy new year to all. I havent been on in a while ie mad xmas new year etc. Well I have put on 1 and 1/2 lb over the hols and I know who the culprit is, those damn chocolates. To be honest I felt as if I wasnt eating enough and threw a couple of choccies down to make up my calories. BIG MISTAKE!!! Any way on the straight and hopefully narrow now. This size 12 is still evading me but a 14 is now too loose. Sue I picked up on you because I know it must be a pain having no restriction after all this time and money. Look at Flirty she has no restriction and yet after xray they said everything was fine. I feel sometimes I dont know what restriction should feel like. When I eat slowly and the food doest have a skin on it I can still eat a full portion and then last night went to a Tapas bar and had 2 meat balls and physically couldnt eat anymore because it was too painfull not because I felt full. Is this restriction? I know I dont eat half of what I used to but its not because I now feel full its because of the pain I get. So I ask again is this restriction? Appreciate any advice. Jx:blink:

Your doing great Bobo. I lost 4lbs this month which was pure fat so Wendy says. Ive now lost 60% of my total overweight body mass so quite pleased. I know I didnt have as much to loose as some of you have but Dr Chris says the less you have to loose the slower it is so quite pleased with my progress. Going to my works christmas night out on Friday and looking forward to it. Normally Im looking for a dress that will hide my lumps and bumps but this year Ive got my choice the only problem is Im a size 13. The 14s seem a bit loose and the 12s a bit tight but hey ho its a good complaint. How did you get on TIN. Havent heard from you in a while. I took my sis and her partner for their first fill yesterday and they have done great! She has lost 15lbs and he has lost 23lb since their op so really pleased. Oliver dog if you read this she would really like to know how your doing. Jx

No it doesnt matter, you have come so far and even with the big shoulder pads you still look so svelte. Reading your advice to Starsky I see you say when youve got restriction you know. I have had 4 fills and Im going for my fifth on Tuesday. At the moment I can eat not too badly and would say the band is defo working as portion control however the nearer it comes to my next fill I do feel the bands tightness wearing off slightly. I can still eat a fairly normal portion maybe slightly smaller than average but not tiny. So Im slightly confused as to what real restriction is. I dont want to get that I cant eat anything or only mushy food especially over christmas but I dont want to be able to eat anything. Can you give any advice on this. Jx:cursing:

Hi Starsky I totally agree with what Gary says and it is a marathon not a sprint. Some people have lost weight really quickly while others take longer. Look at Fern Britton she had her band fitted for nearly 2 years before there was an out cry and people really started noticing. As for restriction that really is like saying how longs a piece of string, everybody is different. I am going for my 5th fill next week and although I definately do have some restriction as I can only eat child size portions of food I do feel it needs tweaked slightly ie, a small 0.25 fill. I really dont want to get to the stage were I can only eat sloppy foods or Soup, I want some kind of normality but with an inbuilt portion control. Hope this helps Jx:bored:

It usually depends on where your getting your fill. WLS usually visit different cities once a month so if theyre in your town next week for instance then you will probably get one. Hope this helps. Jx

Hi Oliver dog just do as said previously and say hi to Wendy from me in Glasgow. It is fairly easy and Coleen will help you out with your dates. Sis is doing ok, she was a bit dissappointed at first and thought her weight wasnt going down but it has started now and shes lost around a stone, Her other half is doing really well and I think hes lost 1/2stone. How are you doing. Any probs pm me. Jx

AWW GARY plain bread your making my mouth water. I havent had any bread since july as there was no chance it would go down toasted, 1day old or any other way. So no chance of this for me but youve gave me a craving for plain bread now. Incidentally can eat a little better but not much, mostly sticking to soups and things. Keep up the good work. Jx:thumbup:

Thanks Carriejess for the reply and Im looking forward to the weightloss, by the way your looking great in new piccy. To all others thinking about fills and who have asked me about WLS. They are a company called weight loss surgery who have an aftercare package ie. fills and dietry requirements and are usually in your area once a month. Wendy is the nurse who does the fills and she has worked for numerous surgeons before starting on her own a few years ago. She has a wealth of experience and is a fab person. The fill packages are on special in December and January ie. 6months £275 1year £549. There are quite a few of us on here who have our fills done by WLS and have found them terrific. Gee I sound like an advertisement but a few people have pmd me so easier to write once. Hope this helps Jx:smile2:

Hi all hope everyones doing well. Well I have defo arrived at restriction, I should have came off mushies today after my 4th fill last Tuesday but I tried to eat a Cracker bread with chicken mayo and the whole lot came up before it went down. I cant really eat anything solid. I know Ive waited for this time but to be honest dont know if I like this feeling. Im sure Gary says it slackens off after 10days or something like that? I can drink easily enough and eat mushies just a problem with solids. Some advice would be APPRECIATED. jX

I was quite surprised yesterday as I went for my 4th fill and not too happy about weight loss. However I lost another 4lbs this month and Wendy has told me that I have now lost 56 percent of the weight I need to lose,. So Im over the half way mark at 4 and a half months from being banded. Put that way really cheered me up. Your doing great Bobo. Flirty youve done brilliantly without restriction but you should have got what you paid for so defo be firm with CDB. Gary I hope everythings going well for you. TIN where are you, how you doing, did you go for a fill yesterday? Im going back in Dec at 1.30 would love to catch up. Jx

Congratulations on your new grandson Mandy, Harrison is a lovely name. I know this band can be depressing. Last month I was elated with my weight loss and this month Im really p***ed off. I havent done anything differently but hardly any weight loss. Im going for 4th fill on Tuesday at Glasgow with Wendy. So hopefully that will get things moving again. Flirty you have done so well without restriction and I think your doing the right thing going to see Wendy she has a vast knowledge of the band and Im sure she will set you right. Jx

Happy bandiversary BoBo and well done. Its been far too quiet on this site we need more posts from people with experience and goals that have been met. Something to inspire us like you have so well done again Bobo and keep posting. I am feeling pretty down with this band at the moment. I havent done anything wrong or different from last month but the scales havent moved in the last two weeks:cursing: and I feel they should have. Really dissapointed but will keep pressing on. Jx
  22. Hi Eddie How you doing this month so far. I lost some weight the friday after the fill but last friday zilch zippo zero. I was a bit dissapointed but hey ho I didnt feel I did too much wrong so crossing my fingers the scales will head downwards this week. I have got restriction but still feel I could maybe do with a small top up although not much. I now have my sister banded and she has just started mushies after her op. How long do you stay on mushies after op is it ten or seven days I cant remember. I told her 10? I have booked an appointment with wendy for 3.30 on the 10/11/09 what about you. I do hope you are in a better place and look forward to your reply. Jx
