homecare replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi fatduck I know exactly how you feel. I am having mine done on the 26th June and I am eating things I would never normally eat. I Dont understand it. Yesterday I ate a full bag of chocolate covered raisins, I dont even like bl!!!dy raisins. It must be a physcological thing. Anyone else do the same before banding? -

Hi Adagiodiva this doesnt seem right to me. To book directly I used the email frederik.serneels@ecfs.be with the title new enquiry. He got back to me quite quickly i.e a day or two and I was booked up within the week. I know they have the last 3 weeks off in July so if you are wanting it done quite quickly I would email right away. I also think some peeps on here have Dr. Chris's mobile no. Good luck. J x -

Yes Freckles dont we know how easy it is to put it back on.:tongue_smilie:Timeisnow I cant believe Im actually doing this. Is there times when your apprehensive, not about the band but the operation itself. Sometimes Im waking up in the middle of the night and thinking about this and at the moment its in the forefront of my mind all the time. I am bombarding my hubby about details of this. I think he will be bored with me by the time the operation comes around. I must not be a band bore, but its so hard to talk of anything else at the moment. J x:tt2: -

Hi time is now I got 1.13 euro to the pound which is a few euros more than normal exchange but mounts up when you are talking thousands. You order from them online or over the phone but theres a catch for getting that rate you have to pay in advance and the money gets sent to you by courier. I paid today but will not get my euros until 22nd june. I havent got online banking so just oredered over the phone, Crown then send you an email with all their bank details which you then take to your bank and ask them to transfer the cash to theirs. This doesnt cost anything. I did this in my bank at 2.30 today and got an email at 3 with receipt and details of my transaction from Crown. If you want the money by 23rd June the last day to get this rate is tomorrow I think. Its not that I am well organised its just I havent told my boys twins of 19, and 21year old so I have to organise when I can without them seeing too much. They think I am going to Brussels for the weekend. J x -

Hi all I was wondering what size of sterile pads do we need for our wounds after the op and will I have to take some with me. Are you allowed to shower? Used Crown currency today and ordered my euros for the op this saved me around £80, every penny counts. Cheers J x -

galaxy101 I to was going with healthier weight and was also quoted 7k for band but after hearing all the good things about Dr Debruyne I changed my mind. Yes Sammy77 I have been there and probably spent double the cost of the band and joining fees etc over the years. I have lost 64lb with them but Ihave put on 70lb 5years later which is soul destroying. So I know I have made the right decision. Glad your band is working well for you. J x -

Hi after telling you guys I was not telling anyone about being banded I had to tell my sister because of work issues. Anyway found out tonight her and my mother joined weight watchers and I am thinking is this a coincedence or is it because I am being banded? I spoke to sis on the phone tonight and she didnt even mention she was joining weight watchers but later on mum phoned me and told me they had both joined. Is something competitive going on here or is it just me!!! Jx -

mmm I have looked at Crown Currency and their rates are much better than the ones I have found. Do you pay for euros through your bank card and I know you have used them are they pretty safe. I also need a lot of dollars as well. j x -

Timeisnow I think there is a bag drop place at airport I have been told this from the person I booked tickets from but not too sure as I haven't recieved my confirmation yet. (booked through my bank as I get discount on travel) I will post any info I get once I recieve it. TanyaC I think the week before my op 26/06/09 will drag as well its the idea you know whats in front of you (kinda like going for a filling) fills you with dread but you know it will benefit you in the long run. I am sure the weeks will fly in and before you know it you'll be going for your fills and comparing your weight loss with all the others on this site. My bmi is just over 35, so I was wondering when I should start my pre op diet. I dont want to lose too much ( I should be so Lucky!) incase anything said about having a bmi under 35, anyone any ideas. J x
