Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
homecare replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
Hi there fatduck. Its a week today since I got my band and if Im honest I still dont feel hungry but it still doesnt take the cravings away for different foods. I know its hard but please dont eat bread as Dr. CDB told us a guy he had operated on ended up in hospital a week after his op as he had started eating and had ripped the stomach wall which allowed the food into his body and could have killed him. He had to get the band removed and the hole in his stomach wall stitched. So please try and stick with the liquids or dutch crispbakes if you miss the actual chewing. Good Luck Jx:tongue_smilie: -

Right guys how am I gonna do this. I got banded on Friday and although Im not 100% I feel pretty good. Son has Graduation on Friday which lasts around 1-1 1/2hours service. Then on to a hotel for champagne reception for 2 hrs, take family out for meal then back home for party 30 guests. I have got caterers in to do the food so not too worried about that. I am more concerned if I am up to it and also covering up not eating or drinking alcohol. First born has worked really hard for this degree and it was all booked before my op. He is also getting presented with a Student of distinction, so proud and I really dont want to let him down. I tire quite easily at the moment i.e. emptying dishwasher is taking twice as long and Im pretty tired. Any tips please!!! Jx -

Thanks toppings but Dr CDB warned us not to eat baby food as it has a very high calorie content i.e to make baby grow etc. He also said not to have smoothies for the same reason. I have had custard but I dont like it hot. I am just looking for something hot with a bit of a savoury flavour. Thanks anyway Jx -

Yes it does when you look at the financial side I mean why pay the extra for the sake of 11 days. It would mean your first 6 months would cost you nearly £400 instead of £275 for the sake of a few days. I would enjoy your wedding and then carry on with this journey. J x:thumbup: -

Yes really glad it is over it was the nerves that nearly killed me not the op. I said to Frederic how nervous I was and he ordered a pre-med for me. It came in the form of a white tablet and once I had taken it it made me really sleepy and so relaxed. How is your sister doing havent seen any of her posts on here for a while. Jx -

Thanks all once again for good wishes. I feel a good bit better today and Im sure it wont be too long until Im back to myself but I feel im getting tired quickly. Time is now what a detailed account of you time in Belgium. I hope you are wearing your delightful stockings and not your designer sport socks. By the way I told my boys today. They were really surprised that I had kept it secret but were wondering about the bruises on my hands and arms so I dont mind not telling them something but I didnt want to lie. Of course they are now calling me Fern!!!! Jx -

Hi vikki I cant answer your question but what I can say is there were 2 women at our hotel who hadnt booked direct and they were not at our meeting in the hotel. I dont know if they already had a consultation previous to going to the hotel or if frederic spoke to them privately in their room. He gave us all the data about the op and came to our room for the money. Good luck your in good hands jx:thumbup: -

Hi all Im back a bit sore and knackered. Would I do it again? In the blink of an eye. Everything went perfectly and arent their hospitals just great. I think I was first to go down I told frederic I was really nervous and he gave me a pre med tablet which really calmed me down. I remember being given an anaethetic at 9.05 and being woken up in the ward around 11. I feel around my port abit nippy and slightly burning. Still cant bend and to get out of bed is sore but so glad Ive done it. Jx -

Hi anitahug, Im being banded on Friday and I have only told my Husband, workmate and sister. I havent told my sons who live with me or my mum. I havent told my work or anyone else. Its a personal thing and I just feel I want to keep it to myself for now. I will see how it transpires when I return. Jx:bored:
